Apple Computer Alive
Homebrew circuit boards to the most valuable company on Earth — the Apple II, Macintosh, iPhone, and the recurring trick of shipping Xerox's future at consumer prices.
Jobs and Wozniak founded Apple on April Fools' Day 1976 (Ron Wayne sold his 10% back for $800). The Apple II (1977) created the consumer PC market; the Macintosh (1984) put the GUI on every desk — derived from the PARC visits Xerox traded for pre-IPO stock.
Jobs was forced out in 1985, founded NeXT, returned with its 1997 acquisition, and rebuilt Apple on NeXTSTEP (now macOS/iOS). iPod, iPhone, iPad followed; the company is periodically the most valuable on Earth.
