Terms of service — plain language, your code is yours

Terms of service

Last updated: 2026-10-08

These terms govern your use of alb-lang.org — the free platform — including the browser IDE, lessons, forums, ALB SCAN, and the ALB Wiki. The site is operated by Rocky L. Oliver, d/b/a Oliver Softworks (“we”, “the site”). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Your code is yours

Any code written by you within the browser IDE remains your sole property. We claim no ownership, license, or rights over programs you author — write them, keep them, ship them, sell them. Compiled output produced by your code is yours as well.

Community contributions

The wiki, forums, and profiles are open to everyone — that is the point. To keep them working as a shared resource:

Acceptable use

We reserve the right to restrict, rate-limit, or permanently ban any IP address, account, or user that engages in scraping, abuse, or violation of our Community Guidelines. Rate limits and automated protections already run on the site; the enforcement decisions are ours.

Site content

Articles, lessons, tutorials, documentation, page design, and visual assets on alb-lang.org are © 2026 Rocky L. Oliver, d/b/a Oliver Softworks. All Rights Reserved. You may read, learn from, and link to them — you may not copy them onto other sites or products.

The AdaLogic BASIC compiler, SDK, and toolchain are open source under the Apache License 2.0 — see LICENSE.txt for the scope and full text. That license covers the software, not this site's content. Names and logos are covered by the Trademark Guidelines.

Accounts and termination

Accounts are free and optional. You are responsible for your credentials and for activity under your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms; you may delete yours at any time by contacting us.

Disclaimers

The site, IDE, wiki, and all content are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep things accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States.
