The machine that made personal computing a product — color graphics, expansion slots, plastic case. VisiCalc made it indispensable; it sold for sixteen years.

Created by Steve Wozniak Apple Computer
Hosted Apple DOS ProDOS

Wozniak's masterpiece (1977) — color graphics, eight slots, sound, BASIC in ROM, in a plastic case by Jerry Manock. It was the first personal computer that was a consumer product, not a kit.

VisiCalc (1979) made it a business machine; sixteen years of variants (II+, IIe, IIc, IIgs) sold ~6 million units. The Apple II was the machine that proved a personal computer could be a product.
