Poduska's Apollo DN100 (1981) was the first commercial networked workstation — 68000 CPU, bitmapped display, DOMAIN token ring network, every user with a machine that shared a distributed filesystem.
Apollo led the workstation market until Sun's cheaper, more open approach won. HP bought the company in 1989; the DOMAIN architecture folded into HP's workstation line.
