Assembly language — the machine's own mnemonic notation, one-to-one with its instructions — is where everything starts and, for some, ends. Every compiler's output, every bootloader, every interrupt handler.\n\nThere is no single 'assembly'; each architecture has its own (x86, ARM, 6502, Z80, MIPS, RISC-V), and the craft of writing it remains the systems programmer's baseline literacy.
