The original assembly-language GUI OS — a 64-bit desktop in a floppy's footprint; KolibriOS forked from its 32-bit line.

Descendants KolibriOS

MenuetOS — Ville Turjanmaa's all-assembly OS — began 2000 as a 64-bit proof that a GUI could fit on a floppy. KolibriOS forked its 32-bit line in 2004; MenuetOS 64 continues as a proprietary 64-bit system.\n\nThe most extreme example of the assembly-only philosophy — everything, including the window manager, in hand-written x86.
