Microsoft's Unix — Xenix (1980) — was its best-selling product before MS-DOS, a licensed Unix System III/7 for microcomputers. Microsoft ported it to the 68000 and x86 before selling it to SCO in 1987.\n\nSCO Xenix and then OpenServer ran small-business Unix for two decades; the lineage ended in Caldera/SCO's collapse and litigation.
