GE's mainframe OS that outlived GE — still quietly maintained by Bull for a loyal customer base six decades later.

Ran on GE-645
Created by Honeywell

GCOS (General Comprehensive Operating System) was Honeywell's continuation of GE's GECOS — the batch system that ran the 600-series and, after Honeywell absorbed GE's computer division in 1970, the hardware Multics ran alongside.\n\nGCOS 8 was the last gasp of the 'IBM and the Seven Dwarfs' era; Bull maintained it into the 2010s on emulated hardware.
