Apple's Unix — System 7 apps running on a System V kernel; killed when the PowerPC transition made it redundant.

Descended from Research Unix

A/UX (1988) was Apple's Unix for the Mac II — SVR2+BSD with a Finder-like GUI and Mac program compatibility. It ran on 68K Macs until 1995.\n\nApple shipped A/UX for customers who needed POSIX compliance (mostly government); MkLinux replaced it as the open option in 1996.
