The machine Be Inc. built to sell its OS — dual PPCs, geek port, blinkenlights. When BeOS went x86 the box died; the OS followed it into legend.

Hosted BeOS

Be's dual-603e BeBox (October 1995) existed to host BeOS — two PPCs, the GeekPort GPIO header, and the famous dual-CPU blinkenlights. ~1,800 sold.

When Apple passed on BeOS for NeXT, Be ported to x86 and discontinued the hardware (1997); the BeBox became a collector's icon — the machine an OS company built because no one else would.
