Iverson's mathematical notation made executable — a custom character set where one line does a page of FORTRAN's work; Dyalog keeps it commercial and alive.

Ken Iverson's APL (1962–66) — A Programming Language — made arrays the only data and symbols the syntax: × ⌹ ⌿ ⍳, a notation so dense it's run as much as read.\n\nDyalog APL and J are its living forms; it remains the purest expression of 'notation as thinking tool' — Iverson's Turing lecture was titled exactly that.
