DEC's single-user real-time system — the pocket PDP-11 OS embedded in labs, factories, and a million student memories.

Ran on PDP-11
Created by Digital Equipment Corporation

RT-11 was the PDP-11's tiny real-time OS — 8K of memory, single-user, fast, and everywhere in labs and embedded work. It ran on hardware as small as the LSI-11 and persisted in industrial use for decades.\n\nIts descendant SJ/FB monitors and the MACRO-11 assembler ecosystem kept PDP-11s running long after the bigger OSes were gone.
