Ada for silicon — the DoD's hardware description language; half the world's chips are still specified in it.

VHDL (1983) — the DoD's hardware description language — is a programming language for silicon: concurrent signal assignments, entities, architectures, and the FPGA/ASIC industry built on it.\n\nIt is Ada's direct descendant (same committee, same era) and the reason chips are programs now.
