Evan Czaplicki's Elm (2012) — a purely functional front-end language — made 'no runtime exceptions' a guarantee: the Elm Architecture, enforced purity, and the friendliest compiler errors ever written.\n\nIts message-passing architecture influenced every frontend framework (Redux is Elm's design); Elm 0.19.1 is the current version.
