II 119th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 5247 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES August 5, 2026Mrs. Murray (for herself and Mr. Lankford) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Armed Services A BILL To amend title 10, United States Code, to include Indian Tribes in the defense community infrastructure program, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Defense Community Infrastructure Program Tribal Eligibility Act of 2026. 2. Inclusion of Tribal governments in the Defense Community Infrastructure Program Section 2391 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsection (d)— (A) in paragraph (1)(A), by inserting Indian Tribes, after local governments,; and (B) in paragraph (2)(B), by striking or local government each place it appears and inserting government, local government, or Indian Tribe; and (2) in subsection (e)— (A) in paragraph (4)(A)(ii)(I), by striking or local government and inserting government, local government, or Indian Tribe; and (B) by adding at the end the following new paragraph: (7) The term Indian Tribe has the meaning given that term in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C. 5304). .
