II 118th CONGRESS 2d Session S. 4467 IN THE SENATE OF THE UNITED STATES June 5, 2024Mr. Rubio introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations A BILL To reauthorize the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Reauthorization Act of 2024. 2. Extension of annual reporting requirement Section 5 of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 (Public Law 116–76; 22 U.S.C. 5701 note) is amended by striking 7 years after and inserting 12 years after. 3. Sunset Section 7(h) of the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019 (Public Law 116–76; 22 U.S.C. 5701 note) is amended by striking 5 years after and inserting 10 years after.
