R. 9063 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES July 18, 2024Mr. Evans (for himself and Mr. Davis of Illinois) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means A BILL To amend subpart 2 of part B of title IV of the Social Security Act to promote permanency for youth by strengthening support networks for children, youth, and families at risk of entering the child welfare system. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Legal Guardianship Inclusion Act. 2. Supplementation of definitions Section 431(a)(8) of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 629a(a)(8)) is amended— (1) by inserting and legal guardianships before out of the foster care system (2) by inserting and legal guardianships before promote; (3) by striking process and inserting and legal guardianship processes; and (4) by inserting and legal guardianships before the period at the end.
