R. 6932 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES January 10, 2024Mr. Edwards (for himself and Mr. Ryan) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure A BILL To amend the National Dam Safety Program Act to require the inclusion of low-head dams in the national dam inventory, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Low-Head Dam Inventory Act. 2. National dam inventory The National Dam Safety Program Act (33 U.S.C. 467d) is amended— (1) in section 6— (A) in the first sentence, by inserting and low-head dams (as defined in section 15(a)) before in the United States; and (B) in the second sentence— (i) by inserting and low-head dams after Such inventory of dams; (ii) by inserting and low-head dam after each dam; and (iii) by striking or a State dam safety agency and inserting , a State dam safety agency, or another relevant entity; and (2) in section 15(b)(2)— (A) in subparagraph (A), by striking and at the end; (B) in subparagraph (B), by striking the period at the end and inserting ; and; and (C) by adding at the end the following: (C) incorporate the data collected on low-head dams into the National Dam Inventory described in section 6. .
