R. 4262 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 21, 2023Mr. Peters (for himself and Mr. Finstad) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs A BILL To direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide for the online administration of the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the CHAMPVA Online Act. 2. Online administration of Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs Not later than one year after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall— (1) establish a system under which applications for benefits under the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs may be submitted electronically through an internet website of the Department (in addition to by mail or fax); and (2) take such other steps as may be necessary to ensure the online administration of such program, including by promulgating such internet website.
