R. 8314 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES July 7, 2022Ms. Porter (for herself, Mr. Lowenthal, and Ms. Lee of California) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce A BILL To amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to remove a limitation on amounts provided under the clean school bus program, and for other purposes. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the California Clean School Bus Equity Act. 2. Clean school bus program Section 741(b)(7) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (42 U.S.C. 16091(b)(7)) is amended to read as follows: (7) Deployment and distribution The Administrator shall— (A) to the maximum extent practicable, achieve nationwide deployment of clean school buses and zero-emission school buses through the program under this section; and (B) ensure a broad geographic distribution of awards. .
