R. 6915 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES March 3, 2022 Mr. Burchett (for himself and Mr. Garamendi) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure A BILL To amend title 23, United States Code, to include education on trailer safety in State highway safety programs. 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Trailer Safety Improvement Act. 2. Trailer safety programs Section 402(a)(2)(A) of title 23, United States Code, is amended— (1) in clause (xiii) by striking and at the end; (2) in clause (xiv) by striking the semicolon and inserting ; and; and (3) by inserting after clause (xiv) the following: (xv) to educate the public about proper and safe usage of light- and medium-duty trailers, including required safety equipment and preventive maintenance for safety; .
