Terms of use
Terms version: alb-scan-terms-v1 — last updated 2026-10-07
What you are agreeing to
By checking the consent box and submitting a file to ALB SCAN, you confirm and agree that:
- You understand the risk. The file you upload may be malicious software. You submit it at your own risk and for analysis purposes only.
- You have the right to submit it. You own the file or have permission to submit it, and it does not contain personal data belonging to you or anyone else.
- The report is public. The analysis report — including the file's name, size, hashes, extracted metadata, and strings — will be published at a public, search-engine-indexed address.
- Your submission may be shared. File hashes may be checked against third-party reputation services (MalwareBazaar/abuse.ch, CIRCL hashlookup). Reports may be referenced by researchers.
- Retention. The sample itself is held in encrypted quarantine for 30 days, then destroyed. Samples are never made available for download by anyone.
- No warranty. ALB SCAN is provided as-is. A "no threats found" verdict does not prove a file is safe, and a "malicious" verdict may be a false positive. Never use this service as your only security control.
- No illegal use. You will not use ALB SCAN to distribute malware, to test detection of malware you intend to deploy, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Consent logging. Your acceptance of these terms is recorded with a timestamp and a hashed (non-plaintext) network identifier, solely for abuse prevention and audit.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AdaLogic BASIC and its operators are not liable for damages arising from files you submit, from analysis results, or from actions you take based on a report. You indemnify the site against claims arising from your submissions.
Abuse
Submissions are rate-limited. Attempts to bypass limits, flood the queue, or probe the infrastructure may be blocked and logged. If a submission belongs to you and you need it removed, contact us via the forum with the SHA-256 of the file.
