arXiv:2610.40854v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: A finitely generated module has unbalanced support if its support has positive dimension but meets a top-dimensional component of the spectrum only at the closed point. We ask what homological signals are left behind by this geometry. Separating the spectrum into two wings, we prove first Tor nonvanishing for positive-depth modules and give criteria for second Tor nonvanishing. In depth zero, we obtain a structural sequence describing the finite-length torsion under a first Tor vanishing. A recent counterexample to the Peskine--Szpiro dimension inequality conjecture establishes the existence of modules of finite projective dimension and unbalanced support \cite{Ma}. We apply our framework to these modules and establish a numerical torsion--spine balance for linked Cohen--Macaulay wings. We also construct such modules over a reduced Gorenstein ring with exactly two irreducible components.
