mother ,alice ,truesdale and his father ,robert ,swan ,mueller1 ,jr42 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii graduated from ,st4 ,paul's ,school in ,concord1 ,new ,hampshire1 in #aifb and later earned his bachelor's degree in politics from ,princeton ,university in #aiff and his master's degree in international relations from ,new ,york ,university in #aifg2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii met his wife ,ann ,cabell ,standish when they were in high school1 and they were married in #aiff at ,st4 ,stephen's ,episcopal ,church2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii and his wife ,ann raised #b daughters2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii served with distinction in the ,united ,states ,marine ,corps from #aifh to #aigj2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii served as a rifle platoon leader in the ,vietnam ,war with ,second ,platoon1 ,h ,company1 #b;d ,battalion1 #dth ,marines1 #crd ,marine ,division and earned a ,bronze ,star for valor during ,operation ,scotland ,,ii1 when he led a rifle platoon in ,south ,vietnam that was ambushed on ,december #aa1 #aifh1 resulting in multiple casualties1 and he rescued a wounded ,marine2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii earned a ,purple ,heart after being wounded by enemy fire in ,april #aifi while leading his platoon to rescue fellow soldiers pinned down by the enemy2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii served as the aide-de-camp to ,major ,general ,william ,k4 ,jones2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii earned ,commendation ,medals1 a ,combat ,action ,ribbon1 the ,national ,defense ,service ,medal1 a ,vietnam ,service ,medal1 the ,republic of ,vietnam ,gallantry ,cross1 and the ,republic of ,vietnam ,campaign ,medal in recognition of his conduct and valor during combat2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii received his law degree from the ,university of ,virginia ,school of ,law in #aigc and then worked in private practice for the law firm ,pilsbury and later for the law firm ,hill and ,barlow2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,am ,flight #ajc2 ,whereas ,robert ,s4 ,mueller ,,iii briefly returned to private practice at the law firm ,hale ,dorr but then returned to public service as a senior prosecutor in the ,u4,s4
