reporting regarding ,department of      
,state ,taiwan guidelines4  #a4 ,short  
title ,this ,act may be cited as the    
,taiwan ,assurance ,implementation ,act4
  #b4 ,increased reporting regarding    
,department of ,state ,taiwan guidelines
 ,section #cae of the ,taiwan ,assurance
 ,act of #bjbj 7subtitle ,b of title    
,,iii of division ,,ff of ,public ,law  
#aaf-bfj2 #acd ,stat4 #cajj7 is         
amended-- 7#a7 in subsection 7c77#a71 by
 inserting and any successor document or
 related document that includes guidance
 on relations with ,taiwan after        
memorandum2 and  7#b7 by adding at the  
end the following new subsection3  7d7  
,periodic reviews and updated reports   

7#a7 ,in general ,for as long as the    
,department of ,state maintains guidance
 that governs relations with ,taiwan as 
described in subsection 7a71 the        
,secretary of ,state shall-- 7,a7 not   
less than once every five years1 conduct
 a review of the ,department of ,state's
 guidance that governs relations with   
,taiwan1 including the periodic         
memorandum entitled1 ,guidelines on     
,relations with ,taiwan and related     
documents1 and reissue such guidance to 
executive branch departments and        
agencies2 and  7,b7 not later than #ij  
days after completing a review required 
by paragraph 7#a77;,a71 submit an       
updated report to the ,committee on     
,foreign ,relations of the ,senate and  
the ,committee on ,foreign ,affairs of  
the ,house of ,representatives4  7#b7   
,matters to be included ,the updated    
reports required under paragraph        
7#a77;,b7 shall include-- 7,a7 all the  
information required under subsection   
7c72  7,b7 a description of how the     

updated guidance meets the goals and    
objectives described in subsection 7b72 
and  7,c7 an identification of          
self-imposed restrictions on relations  
with ,taiwan lifted by the ,secretary of
 ,state in the most recent updated      
guidance1 including the periodic        
memorandum entitled ,guidelines on      
,relations with ,taiwan and related     
documents4  4
