,national ,health ,service ,corps to    
defer their obligated service in order  
to receive training in palliative care  
services4  #a4 ,short title ,this ,act  
may be cited as the ,provider ,training 
in ,palliative ,care ,act4  #b4         
,deferral of obligated services for     
training in palliative care ,section    
#cca of the ,public ,health ,service    
,act 7#db ,u4,s4,c4 #bed;d7 is amended--
 7#a7 by redesignating subsection 7j7 as
 subsection 7k72 and  7#b7 by inserting 
after subsection 7i7 the following3  7j7
 ,in carrying out subpart ,,iii1 the    
,secretary may issue deferrals of the   
period of obligated service to          

individuals who have entered into a     
contract for obligated service under the
 ,scholarship ,program or the ,loan     
,repayment ,program and who apply for   
such a deferral in order to receive     
training in palliative care4 ,the       
,secretary may grant such a deferral to 
such an individual for a period of up to
 #a year4  4
