 referred to the ,committee on the      
,judiciary  ,a ,,bill  ,to direct the   
,attorney ,general to acquire data1 for 
each calendar year1 about interactions  
of law enforcement officers with people 
with mental illness1 and for other      
purposes4  #a4 ,short title  ,this ,act 
may be cited as the ,public ,safety and 
,mental ,health ,reporting ,act4  #b4   
,acquisition of data about interactions 
of law enforcement officers with people 
with mental illness  7a7 ,in general    
,under the authority of section #ecd of 
title #bh1 ,united ,states ,code1 the   
,attorney ,general1 in consultation with
 the ,secretary of ,health and ,human   
,services1 shall acquire data1 for each 
calendar year1 on interactions of law   

enforcement officers with people with   
mental illness4  7b7 ,guidelines ,the   
,attorney ,general1 in consultation with
 the ,secretary of ,health and ,human   
,services or the ,assistant ,secretary  
of the ,substance ,abuse and ,mental    
,health ,services ,administration1 shall
 establish guidelines for the collection
 of such data4  7c7  ,uses of data      
,data acquired under this section shall 
be used only for research or statistical
 purposes and may not contain any       
information that may reveal the identity
 of an individual victim of a crime4    
7d7  ,annual publication  ,the ,attorney
 ,general shall submit to ,congress and 
make publicly available an annual       
summary of the data acquired under this 
section4  7e7 ,authorization of         
appropriations ,there are authorized to 
be appropriated such sums as may be     
necessary to carry out the provisions of
 this section for each of fiscal years
