the ,permanent ,select ,committee on    
,intelligence  ,a ,,bill  ,to require   
certain elements of the intelligence    
community to submit to the congressional
 intelligence committees a report with  
respect to biotechnology threats1 and   
for other purposes4  #a4 ,short title   
,this ,act may be cited as the          
,elevating ,biotechnology ,threats      
,reporting ,act4  #b4 ,reporting        
requirement on biotechnology threats    
with respect to certain elements of the 
intelligence community  7a7 ,reporting  
requirement ,not later than ,june #cj1  
#bjbe1 the head of each covered element 
of the intelligence community shall     
submit a separate report to the         
congressional intelligence committees   
with respect to biotechnology threats   

and intelligence activities related to  
biotechnology threats4  7b7 ,matters    
included ,each report under subsection  
7a7 shall include1 with respect to each 
covered element of the intelligence     
community1 the following3 7#a7 ,a       
description of any gaps that exist with 
respect to intelligence activities that 
impede such element from fully          
targeting1 collecting1 and analyzing    
intelligence related to biotechnology   
threats4  7#b7 ,a description of any    
existing formal mechanisms by which the 
intelligence community provides         
intelligence and support with respect to
 biotechnology threats to-- 7,a7        
departments and agencies of the ,federal
 ,government outside the intelligence   
community2  7,b7 the governments of     
foreign countries2 and  7,c7 private    
industry and academic institutions4     
7#c7 ,an assessment of any existing     
mechanisms and manners by which the     
intelligence community consults with    
biotechnology experts and other outside 

experts with related expertise4  7c7    
,covered elements of the intelligence   
community ,for purposes of this section1
