 ,for ,breastfeeding ,mothers ,act of   
#bjai4  #b4 ,lactation rooms in public  
buildings  7a7 ,in general ,chapter #cc 
of title #dj1 ,united ,states ,code1 is 
amended-- 7#a7 by redesignating sections
 #ccae1 #ccaf1 and #ccag as sections    
#ccaf1 #ccag1 and #ccah1 respectively2  
and  7#b7 by inserting after section    
#ccad the following3  #ccae4 ,lactation 
rooms in public buildings  7a7          
,definitions ,in this section3 7#a7     
,appropriate authority ,the term        
appropriate authority means-- 7,a7 the  
head of a ,federal agency2  7,b7 the    
,architect of the ,capitol2 and  7,c7   
another official authority responsible  
for the operation of a public building4 
7#b7 ,covered public building  7,a7 ,in 
general ,the term covered public        

building means a public building that-- 
7i7 is open to the public2 and  7ii7    
contains a public restroom4  7,b7       
,inclusion ,the term covered public     
building includes a building listed in  
section #eaja or #fcja4  7#c7 ,lactation
 room ,the term lactation room means a  
hygienic place1 other than a bathroom1  
that-- 7,a7 is shielded from view2  7,b7
 is free from intrusion2 and  7,c7      
contains-- 7i7 a chair2  7ii7 a working 
surface2 and  7iii7 if the public       
building is supplied with electricity1  
an electrical outlet4  7b7 ,lactation   
rooms required ,except as provided in   
subsection 7c71 the appropriate         
authority of a covered public building  
shall ensure that the building contains 
a lactation room that is made available 
for use by members of the public to     
express breast milk4  7c7 ,exceptions ,a
 covered public building may be excluded
 from the requirement in subsection 7b7 
at the discretion of the appropriate    
authority if-- 7#a7 the public          

building-- 7,a7 does not contain a      
lactation room for employees who work in
 the building2 and  7,b7 does not have a
 room that could be repurposed as a     
lactation room or a space that could be 
made private using portable materials1  
at a reasonable cost2 or  7#b7 new      
construction would be required to create
 a lactation room in the public building
 and the cost of the construction is not
 feasible4  7d7 ,no unauthorized entry  
,nothing in this section authorizes an  
individual to enter a public building or
 portion of a public building that the  
individual is not otherwise authorized  
to enter4  4  7b7 ,technical amendment  
,the table of sections for chapter #cc  
of title #dj1 ,united ,states ,code1 is 
amended by striking the items relating  
to sections #ccae through #ccag and     
inserting the following3  #ccae4        
,lactation rooms in public              
buildings4#ccaf4 ,delegation4#ccag4     
,report to ,congress4#ccah4 ,certain    
authority not affected4  4  7c7         

,effective date ,the amendments made by 
this section shall take effect #a year  
after the date of enactment of this     
,act4  ,passed the ,senate ,june #bf1
