,judicial ,conference of the ,united    
,states requested from ,congress1 for   
the district of ,arizona1 the creation  
of #d new district judgeships and the   
conversion of #a temporary judgeship to 
a permanent judgeship4  7#b7 ,in fiscal 
year #bjai1 there were #ad1bje pending  
cases averaging #a1jic cases per        
judgeship in the district of ,arizona4  
,the median timelines for civil and     

criminal filings to disposition were    
roughly #i4f and #d4h months1           
respectively4 ,the filings for fiscal   
year #bjai were #ae1cja1 or #a1agg per  
judgeship4  7#c7 ,the ,judicial         
,conference of the ,united ,states      
defines a judgeship vacancy to be a     
judicial emergency if weighted filings  
are in excess of #fjj per judgeship4    
7#d7 ,the district of ,arizona currently

judgeship1 above the threshold for a    
judicial emergency and above the #bjah
