,judiciary  ,a ,,bill  ,to grant lawful 
permanent resident status to certain    
eligible persons who were separated from
 immediate family members by the        
,department of ,homeland ,security4  #a4
 ,short title ,this ,act may be cited as
 the ,families ,belong ,together ,act4  
#b4 ,definitions ,in this ,act3  7#a7   
,eligible child ,the term eligible child
 means a person who-- 7,a7 entered the  
,united ,states1 before attaining #ah   
years of age1 at a port of entry or     
between ports of entry2  7,b7 was       
separated from his or her parent or     
legal guardian by the ,department of    
,homeland ,security1 and the ,department
 failed to demonstrate in a hearing that
 the parent or legal guardian was unfit 
or presented a danger to the child2     

7,c7 7i7 was in the custody of the      
,department of ,homeland ,security or   
the ,office of ,refugee ,resettlement on
 the date of the enactment of this ,act2
  7ii7 has been released to a sponsor1  
including a family-member sponsor2 or   
7iii7 has been repatriated to his or her
 country of origin2 and  7,d7 is not    
inadmissible under paragraph 7#b77;,c71 
7#b77;,e71 7#b77;,g71 7#b77;,h71        
7#b77;,i71 7#c71 7#f77;,e71 7#f77;,g71  
7#h71 7#aj77;,c71 or 7#aj77;,d7 of      
section #bab7;a7 of the ,immigration and
 ,nationality ,act 7#h ,u4,s4,c4        
#aahb7;a774  7#b7 ,eligible parent  7,a7
 ,in general ,subject to subparagraph   
7,b71 the term eligible parent means an 
individual who-- 7i7 is--  7,i7 a parent
 of an eligible child2 or  7,,ii7 a     
legal guardian of an eligible child2    
7ii7 entered the ,united ,states at a   
port of entry1 or between ports of      
entry1 with an eligible child to whom he
 or she is a parent or legal guardian2  
and  7iii7 was separated from his or her

 eligible child by the ,department of   
,homeland ,security1 which failed to    
demonstrate in a hearing that the parent
 or legal guardian was unfit or         
presented a danger to the child4  7,b7  
,exclusion ,an individual is not an     
eligible parent if the individual is    
inadmissible under paragraph 7#b77;,c71 
7#b77;,e71 7#b77;,g71 7#b77;,h71        
7#b77;,i71 7#c71 7#f77;,e71 7#f77;,g71  
7#h71 7#aj77;,c71 or 7#aj77;,d7 of      
section #bab7;a7 of the ,immigration and
 ,nationality ,act 7#h ,u4,s4,c4        
#aahb7;a774  #c4 ,humanitarian parole   
,the ,director of ,u4,s4 ,citizenship   
and ,immigration ,services shall grant  
humanitarian parole into the ,united    
,states to all eligible parents and     
eligible children who expressly request 
such parole4 ,the ,director shall not   
impose a fee for any such request4  #d4 
,adjustment of status  7a7 ,eligible    
parents ,eligible parents in the ,united
 ,states shall be eligible to apply to  
the ,director of ,u4,s4 ,citizenship and

 ,immigration ,services to have their   
status adjusted to that of an alien     
lawfully admitted for permanent         
residence4 ,not later than #cj days     
after receiving such an application from
 an eligible parent1 the ,director shall
 adjust the status of such parent to    
that of an alien lawfully admitted for  
permanent residence4  7b7 ,eligible     
children ,eligible children in the      
,united ,states shall be eligible to    
apply to the ,director of ,u4,s4        
,citizenship and ,immigration ,services 
to have their status adjusted to that of
 an alien lawfully admitted for         
permanent residence4 ,not later than #cj
 days after receiving such an           
application from an eligible child1 the 
,director shall adjust the status of    
such child to that of an alien lawfully 
admitted for permanent residence4  7c7  
,application fees prohibited ,the       
,director of ,u4,s4 ,citizenship and    
,immigration ,services shall not impose 
a fee for any application submitted     

under this section4  #e4 ,exception to  
ground of inadmissibility ,for purposes 
of this ,act1 assistance provided by a  
person to a member of his or her nuclear
 family unit shall not render the person
 inadmissible under section             
#bab7;a77#f77;,e7 of the ,immigration   
and ,nationality ,act 7#h ,u4,s4,c4     
#aahb7;a77#f77;,e774  #f4 ,authorization
 of appropriations ,in addition to any  
other amounts otherwise authorized to be
 appropriated for such purpose1 there is
 authorized to be appropriated to the   
,executive ,office for ,immigration     
,review #e1jjj1jjj for fiscal year #bjai
 to carry out the ,legal ,orientation   
,program1 including educating eligible  
parents and eligible children of their  
rights under this ,act4
