the ,federal ,communications ,commission
 to designate a #c-;digit dialing code  
for veterans in crisis4  #a4 ,short     
title ,this ,act may be cited as the    
,suicide ,prevention by ,eliminating    
,excessive ,digits ,act of #bjai or the 
,,speed ,act4  #b4 ,designation of      
#c-;digit dialing code for veterans in  
crisis  7a7 ,definitions ,in this       
section--  7#a7 the term ,commission    
means the ,federal ,communications      
,commission2 and  7#b7 the term covered 
dialing code means a simple1            
easy-to-remember1 #c-;digit dialing     
code4  7b7 ,designation ,as soon as     

practicable after the date of enactment 
of this ,act1 the ,commission1 in       
consultation with the ,assistant        
,secretary for ,mental ,health and      
,substance ,use and the ,secretary of   
,veterans ,affairs1 shall designate a   
covered dialing code that veterans may  
use to reach a national suicide         
prevention and mental health crisis     
hotline system1 which system may be--   
7#a7 the ,veterans ,crisis ,line2  7#b7 
the ,national ,suicide ,prevention      
,lifeline2 or  7#c7 another hotline4    
7c7 ,incorporation of study findings    
7#a7 ,in general ,in designating a      
covered dialing code under subsection   
7b71 the ,commission shall incorporate  
the findings of the study conducted     
under section #c7;a7 of the ,national   
,suicide ,hotline ,improvement ,act of  
#bjah 7,public ,law #aae-bcc2 #acb      
,stat4 #bdbd74  7#b7 ,prioritizing      
implementation speed ,nothing in        
paragraph 7#a7 shall be construed to    
authorize the ,commission to delay the  

designation of a covered dialing code   
under subsection 7b7 until after the    
,commission submits the report under    
section #c7;b7 of the ,national ,suicide
 ,hotline ,improvement ,act of #bjah
