 bill2 which was referred to the        
,committee on ,transportation and       
,infrastructure  ,a ,,bill  ,to require 
the ,secretary of the ,army to conduct a
 study to determine the costs for the   
,corps of ,engineers to ensure that     
certain project activities authorized   
under ,nationwide ,permit #ad comply    
with public safety conditions1 and for  
other purposes4  #a4 ,study  7a7 ,in    
general ,the ,secretary of the ,army1   
acting through the ,chief of ,engineers1
 shall conduct a study to determine the 
costs for the ,corps of ,engineers to-- 
7#a7 include public safety as a         
condition for authorizing a proposed    
project activity under ,nationwide      
,permit #ad2 and  7#b7 inspect an       
authorized project activity after       
construction to ensure that such project
 activity is maintained in compliance   

with all conditions related to public   
safety under ,nationwide ,permit #ad4   
7b7 ,report ,not later than #a year     
after the date of enactment of this     
,act1 the ,secretary shall submit to the
 ,committee on ,transportation and      
,infrastructure of the ,house of        
,representatives and the ,committee on  
,environment and ,public ,works of the  
,senate a report containing the results 
of the study conducted under subsection 
7a74  7c7 ,definitions ,in this section3
 7#a7 ,nationwide ,permit #ad ,the term 
,nationwide ,permit #ad means the       
nationwide permit1 relating to linear   
transportation projects1 issued pursuant
 to section #aj of the ,act of ,march   
#c1 #ahii 7#cc ,u4,s4,c4 #djc7 and      
section #djd of the ,federal ,water     
,pollution ,control ,act4  7#b7 ,project
 activity ,the term project activity    
means an activity for which a permittee 
is required to submit a pre-construction
 notification under ,nationwide ,permit
