and for other purposes4 #a4 ,short title ,this ,act may be cited as the ,state ,sponsors of ,terrorism ,review ,enhancement ,act4 #b4 ,modifications of authorities that provide for rescission of determinations of countries as state sponsors of terrorism 7a7 ,foreign ,assistance ,act of #aifa ,section #fbj;,a of the ,foreign ,assistance ,act of #aifa 7#bb ,u4,s4,c4 #bcga7 is amended-- 7#a7 in subsection 7c77#b7-- 7,a7 in the matter preceding subparagraph 7,a71 by striking #de days and inserting #ij days2 and 7,b7 in subparagraph 7,a71 by striking #f-month period and inserting #bd-month period2 7#b7 by redesignating subsection 7d7 as subsection 7e72 7#c7 by inserting after subsection 7c7 the following3 7d7 ,disapproval of rescission ,no rescission under subsection 7c77#b7 of a determination under subsection 7a7 with respect to the government of a country may be made if the ,congress1 within #ij days after receipt of a report under subsection 7c77#b71 enacts a joint resolution described in subsection 7f77#b7 of section #dj of the ,arms ,export ,control ,act with respect to a rescission under subsection 7f77#a7 of such section of a determination under subsection 7d7 of such section with respect to the government of such country4 2 7#d7 in subsection 7e7 7as redesignated71 in the matter preceding paragraph 7#a71 by striking may be and inserting may1 on a case-by-case basis1 be2 and 7#e7 by adding at the end the following new subsection3 7f7 ,notification and briefing ,not later than-- 7#a7 ten days after initiating a review of the activities of the government of the country concerned within the #bd-month period referred to in subsection 7c77#b77;,a71 the ,president1 acting through the ,secretary of ,state1 shall notify the ,committee on ,foreign ,affairs of the ,house of ,representatives and the ,committee on ,foreign ,relations of the ,senate of such initiation2 and 7#b7 #bj days after the notification described in paragraph 7#a71 the ,president1 acting through the ,secretary of ,state1 shall brief such committees on the status of such review4 4 7b7 ,arms ,export ,control ,act ,section #dj of the ,arms ,export ,control ,act 7#bb ,u4,s4,c4 #bghj7 is amended-- 7#a7 in subsection 7f7-- 7,a7 in paragraph 7#a77;,b7-- 7i7 in the matter preceding clause 7i71 by striking #de days and inserting #ij days2 and 7ii7 in clause 7i71 by striking #f-month period and inserting #bd-month period2 and 7,b7 in paragraph 7#b7-- 7i7 in subparagraph 7,a71 by striking #de days and inserting #ij days2 and 7ii7 in subparagraph 7,b71 by striking #de-;day period and inserting #ij-;day period2 7#b7 in subsection 7g71 in the matter preceding paragraph 7#a71 by striking may waive and inserting may1 on a case-by-case basis1 waive2 7#c7 by redesignating subsection 7l7 as subsection 7m72 and 7#d7 by inserting after subsection 7k7 the following new subsection3 7l7 ,notification and briefing ,not later than-- 7#a7 ten days after initiating a review of the activities of the government of the country concerned within the #bd-month period referred to in subsection 7f77#a77;,b77i71 the ,president1 acting through the ,secretary of ,state1 shall notify the ,committee on ,foreign ,affairs of the ,house of ,representatives and the ,committee on ,foreign ,relations of the ,senate of such initiation2 and 7#b7 #bj days after the notification described in paragraph 7#a71 the ,president1 acting through the ,secretary of ,state1 shall brief such committees on the status of such review4 4 7c7 ,export ,administration ,act of #aigi 7#a7 ,in general ,section #f7;j7 of the ,export ,administration ,act of #aigi 7#ej ,u4,s4,c4 ,app4 #bdje7;j771 as continued in effect under the ,international ,emergency ,economic ,powers ,act1 is amended-- 7,a7 in paragraph 7#d77;,b7-- 7i7 in the matter preceding clause 7i71 by striking #de days and inserting #ij days2 and 7ii7 in clause 7i71 by striking #f-month period and inserting #bd-month period2 7,b7 by redesignating paragraphs 7#f7 and 7#g7 as paragraphs 7#g7 and 7#h71 respectively2 and 7,c7 by inserting after paragraph 7#d7 the following new paragraphs3 7#e7 ,disapproval of rescission ,no rescission under paragraph 7#d77;,b7 of a determination under paragraph 7#a77;,a7 with respect to the government of a country may be made if the ,congress1 within #ij days after receipt of a report of ,state1 shall notify the ,committee on ,foreign ,affairs of the ,house of ,representatives and the ,committee on ,foreign ,relations of the ,senate of such initiation2 and 7,b7 #bj days after the notification described in paragraph 7#a71 the ,president1 acting through the ,secretary and the ,secretary of ,state1 shall brief such committees on the status of such review4 4 7#b7 ,regulations ,the ,president shall amend the ,export ,administration ,regulations under subchapter ,c of chapter ,,vii of title #ae1 ,code of ,federal ,regulations1 to the extent necessary and appropriate to carry out the amendment made by paragraph 7#a74
