,control and ,safe ,streets ,act of

amended--  7#a7 by redesignating        
paragraphs 7#e7 through 7#i7 as         
paragraphs 7#f7 through 7#aj71          
respectively2  7#b7 in paragraph        
7#aj77;,a7 7as so redesignated by       
paragraph 7#a7 of this section71 by     
inserting as a fire police officer1     

after firefighter12 and  7#c7 by        
inserting after paragraph 7#d7 the      
following new paragraph3  7#e7 fire     
police officer includes an individual   
who--  7,a7 is serving in accordance    
with ,state or local law as an          
officially recognized or designated     
member of a legally organized public    
safety agency2  7,b7 is not a law       
enforcement officer1 a firefighter1 a   
chaplain1 or a member of a rescue squad 
or ambulance crew described in paragraph

security or directs traffic--  7i7 in   
response to any fire drill1 fire call1  
or other fire1 rescue1 or police        
emergency2 or  7ii7 at a planned special
