 ,secretary of the ,interior to take    
land into trust for ,indian tribes4  #a4
 ,reaffirmation of authority  7a7       
,modification  7#a7 ,in general ,the    
first sentence of section #ai of the    
,act of ,june #ah1 #aicd 7commonly known
 as the ,indian ,reorganization ,act7   
7#be ,u4,s4,c4 #dgi71 is amended-- 7,a7 
by striking ,the term and inserting     
,effective beginning on ,june #ah1      
#aicd1 the term2 and  7,b7 by striking  
any recognized ,indian tribe now under  
,federal jurisdiction and inserting any 

federally recognized ,indian tribe4     
7#b7 ,effective date ,the amendments    
made by paragraph 7#a7 shall take effect
 as if included in the ,act of ,june    
#ah1 #aicd 7commonly known as the       
,indian ,reorganization ,act7 7#be      
,u4,s4,c4 #dgi71 on the date of         
enactment of that ,act4  7b7            
,ratification and ,confirmation of      
,actions ,any action taken by the       
,secretary of the ,interior pursuant to 
the ,act of ,june #ah1 #aicd 7commonly  
known as the ,indian ,reorganization    
,act7 7#be ,u4,s4,c4 #dfa et seq471 for 
any ,indian tribe that was federally    
recognized on the date of that action is
 ratified and confirmed1 to the extent  
such action is subjected to challenge   
based on whether the ,indian tribe was  
federally recognized or under ,federal  
jurisdiction on ,june #ah1 #aicd1 as if 
the action had1 by prior ,act of        
,congress1 been specifically authorized 
and directed4  7c7 ,effect on ,other    
,laws  7#a7 ,in general ,nothing in this

 section or the amendments made by this 
section shall affect-- 7,a7 the         
application or effect of any ,federal   
law other than the ,act of ,june #ah1

limitation on the authority of the
