was referred to the ,committee on       
,transportation and ,infrastructure  ,a 
,,bill  ,to direct the ,secretary of the
 ,army to prevent the spread of ,asian  
carp in the ,great ,lakes and the       
tributaries of the ,great ,lakes1 and   
for other purposes4  #a4 ,short title   
,this ,act may be cited as the ,asian   
,carp ,prevention ,act of #bjac4  #b4   
,coordination of efforts to prevent the 
spread of ,asian carp ,notwithstanding  
any other provision of law1 the         
,secretary of the ,army shall coordinate
 and lead the actions of the ,federal   
,government with respect to preventing  

the spread of ,asian carp in the ,great 
,lakes and the tributaries of the ,great
 ,lakes4  #c4 ,authority to prevent the 
spread of ,asian carp  7a7 ,in general  
,the ,secretary of the ,army may carry  
out projects to prevent the spread of   
,asian carp in the ,great ,lakes and the
 tributaries of the ,great ,lakes1      
including--  7#a7 installing electric1  
acoustic1 air bubble1 and other         
barriers2  7#b7 applying piscicides2    
7#c7 improving locks2  7#d7 taking      
actions at the ,brandon ,road ,lock and 
,dam1 ,illinois1 to prevent the spread  
of ,asian carp2 and  7#e7 implementing  
other projects determined necessary by  
the ,secretary4  7b7 ,application of    
other law ,with respect to projects     
carried out under subsection 7a71 such  
projects shall be treated as in         
compliance with all applicable          
environmental ,federal laws4  #d4       
,implementation of efficacy study       
recommendations ,the ,secretary of the  
,army shall implement measures          

recommended in the efficacy study1 or   
provided in interim reports1 authorized 
under section #cjfa of the ,water       
,resources ,development ,act of #bjjg   
7,public ,law #aaj-aad2 #aba ,stat4     
#aaba71 with such modifications or      
emergency measures as the ,secretary of 
the ,army determines to be appropriate1 
to prevent aquatic nuisance species from
 bypassing the ,chicago ,sanitary and   
,ship ,canal ,dispersal ,barrier        
,project referred to in that section and
 to prevent aquatic nuisance species    
from dispersing into the ,great ,lakes4
