,social ,security ,act to exempt from   
manufacturer transparency reporting     
certain transfers used for educational  
purposes1 and for other purposes4  #a4  
,exempting from manufacturer            
transparency reporting certain transfers
 used for educational purposes  7a7 ,in 
general ,section #aabh;,g7e77#aj77;,b7  
of the ,social ,security ,act 7#db      
,u4,s4,c4 #acbj;a-#g;h7e77#aj77;,b77 is 
amended--  7#a7 in clause 7iii71 by     

inserting 1 including peer-reviewed     
journals1 journal reprints1 journal     
supplements1 and medical textbooks after
 patient use2 and  7#b7 by adding at the
 end the following new clause3  7xiii7  
,a transfer of anything of value to a   
covered recipient who is a physician if 
the thing of value is intended solely   
for purposes of providing continuing    
medical education to the physician4  4  
7b7 ,effective date ,the amendments made
 by this section shall apply with       
respect to transfers of value made on or
 after the date of the enactment of this
 ,act4
