the ,committee on ,education and the    
,workforce  ,a ,,bill  ,to prohibit the 
use of funds by the ,department of      
,education relating to multistate       
academic content standards4  #a4 ,short 
title ,this ,act may be cited as the    
,one ,size ,does ,not ,fit ,all in      
,education ,act4  #b4 ,prohibition on   
use of funds for certain purposes  7a7  
,in general ,no funds appropriated or   
otherwise available to the ,department  
of ,education may be used to-- 7#a7     
develop1 implement1 or evaluate any set 
of multistate academic content standards
 or any assessments aligned with such   
standards2 or  7#b7 award any grant1    
contract1 or cooperative agreement that 
requires or authorizes the development1 
implementation1 or evaluation of        
multistate academic content standards or

 assessments aligned with such          
standards4  7b7 ,applications ,the      
,secretary of ,education may not require
 a ,state to adopt multistate academic  
content standards or assessments aligned
 with such standards as an eligibility  
requirement in an application for       
,federal funds4  7c7 ,waiver ,section   
#idja of the ,elementary and ,secondary 
,education ,act 7#bj ,u4,s4,c4 #ghfa7 is
 amended by adding at the end the       
following new subsection3  7h7          
,multistate standards ,the ,secretary   
may not require a ,state to adopt       
multistate academic content standards or
 assessments aligned with such standards
 as a condition for receiving a waiver  
under this section4  4  7d7 ,multistate 
academic content standard defined ,in   
this ,act1 the term multistate academic 
content standard-- 7#a7 means an        
academic content standard adopted by    
more than one ,state2 and  7#b7 includes
 the ,common ,core ,state ,standards    
developed by the ,national ,governors   

,association ,center for ,best          
,practices and the ,council of ,chief   
,state ,school ,officers4
