 ,armed ,services  ,a ,,bill  ,to treat 
members of the ,armed ,forces who were  
killed or wounded in the ,november #e1  
#bjji1 attack at ,fort ,hood1 ,texas1 or
 the ,june #a1 #bjji1 attack at ,little 
,rock1 ,arkansas1 as if the members were
 awarded the ,purple ,heart1 to clarify 
the eligibility of such members for     
combat-related special compensation1 and
 for other purposes4  #a4 ,short title  
,this ,act may be cited as the ,justice 
for ,fort ,hood and ,little ,rock       
,heroes ,act4  #b4 ,treatment of members
 of the ,armed ,forces who were killed  
or wounded in the ,november #e1 #bjji1  
attack at ,fort ,hood1 ,texas1 or the   
,june #a1 #bjji1 attack at ,little      

,rock1 ,arkansas  7a7 ,treatment ,for   
purposes of all applicable ,federal     
laws1 regulations1 and policies1 an     
individual who1 while a member of the   
,armed ,forces1 was killed or wounded in
 a covered attack shall be treated as if
 the individual has been awarded a      
,purple ,heart as of the date of the    
enactment of this ,act4  7b7            
,combat-,related special compensation   
,an individual who1 while a member of   
the ,armed ,forces1 was wounded in a    
covered attack shall be treated as an   
eligible combat-related disabled        
uniformed services retiree under        
subsection 7c7 of section #adac;a of    
title #aj1 ,united ,states ,code1 for   
purposes of determining the eligibility 
of the individual for combat-related    
special compensation paid under such    
section4  7c7 ,exception ,subsections   
7a7 and 7b7 shall not apply to an       
individual whose death or wound as      
described in such subsection is the     
result of the willful misconduct of the 

individual4  7d7 ,sense of ,congress    
,congress encourages each ,state and    
local government to treat an individual 
described in subsection 7a7 as eligible 
for any benefits provided by the ,state 
or local government to individuals by   
reason of the individual being killed or
 wounded while serving in the line of   
duty as a member of the ,armed ,forces4 
7e7 ,covered attack defined ,in this    
section1 the term covered attack means  
the following3  7#a7 ,the attack that   
occurred at ,fort ,hood1 ,texas1 on     
,november #e1 #bjji4  7#b7 ,the attack  
that occurred at a recruiting station in
 ,little ,rock1 ,arkansas1 on ,june #a1
