,dear friends1 since ,i am eager to     
begin a letter to you on         the    
subject of our common salvation1 ,i find
 myself constrained         to write and
 cheer you on to the vigorous defense of
 the faith         delivered once for   
all to ,god's people4  #jja3jjd ,for    
certain persons have crept in           
unnoticed--men spoken of in ancient     
writings as pre-destined to this        
condemnation--ungodly men1         who  
pervert the grace of our ,god into an   
excuse for immorality1         and      
disown ,jesus ,christ1 our only         
,sovereign and ,lord4  #jja3jje ,i      

desire to remind you--although the whole
 matter is already         familiar to  
you--that the ,lord saved a people out  
of the land         of ,egypt1 but      
afterwards destroyed those who had no   
faith4  #jja3jjf ,and angels--those who 
did not keep the position originally    
assigned to them1 but deserted their own
 proper abode--         ,he reserves in 
everlasting bonds1 in darkness1 in      
preparation         for the judgement of
 the great day4  #jja3jjg ,so also      
,sodom and ,gomorrah--and the           
neighboring towns         in the same   
manner--having been guilty of gross     
fornication         and having gone     
astray in pursuit of unnatural vice1    
are now before us as a specimen of the  
fire of the ,ages         in the        
punishment which they are undergoing4   
#jja3jjh ,yet in just the same way these
 dreamers also pollute the body1        
while they set authority at naught and  
speak evil of dignities4  #jja3jji ,but 
,michael the ,archangel1 when contending

 with the ,devil         and arguing    
with him about the body of ,moses1 did  
not dare         to pronounce judgement 
on him in abusive terms1 but simply     
said1         ,the ,lord rebuke you4    
#jja3jaj ,yet these men are abusive in  
matters of which they know nothing1     
and in things which1 like the brutes1   
they understand instinctively--         
in all these they corrupt themselves4   
#jja3jaa ,alas for them2 for they have  
followed in the steps of ,cain2         
for the sake of gain they have rushed on
 headlong in the evil ways         of   
,balaam2 and have perished in rebellion 
like that of ,korah6  #jja3jab ,these   
men--sunken rocks6--are those who share 
the pleasure         of your            
love-feasts1 unrestrained by fear while 
caring only         for themselves2     
clouds without water1 driven away by the
 winds2         trees that cast their   
fruit1 barren1 doubly dead1 uprooted2   
#jja3jac wild waves of the sea1 foaming 
out their own shame2 wandering stars1   

for whom is reserved dense darkness of  
age-long duration4  #jja3jad ,it was    
also about these that ,enoch1 who       
belonged to the seventh                 
generation from ,adam1 prophesied1      
saying1 ,the ,lord has come1            
attended by myriads of ,his people1 to  
execute judgement upon all1  #jja3jae   
and to convict all the ungodly of all   
the ungodly deeds         which in their
 ungodliness they have committed1 and of
 all         the hard words which they1 
ungodly sinners as they are1            
have spoken against ,him4  #jja3jaf     
,these men are murmurers1 ever bemoaning
 their lot4         ,their lives are    
guided by their evil passions1 and their
 mouths         are full of big1        
boastful words1 while they treat        
individual         men with admiring    
reverence for the sake of the advantage 
they can gain4  #jja3jag ,but as for    
you1 my dearly-loved friends1 remember  
the words that         before now were  
spoken by the ,apostles of our ,lord    

,jesus ,christ--  #jja3jah how they     
declared to you1 ,in the last times     
there shall         be scoffers1 obeying
 only their own ungodly passions4       
#jja3jai ,these are those who cause     
divisions4  ,they are men of         the
 world1 wholly unspiritual4  #jja3jbj   
,but you1 my dearly-loved friends1      
building yourselves up on         the   
basis of your most holy faith and       
praying in the ,holy ,spirit1  #jja3jba 
must keep yourselves safe in the love of
 ,god1 waiting for the         mercy of 
our ,lord ,jesus ,christ which will     
result in the ,life         of the      
,ages4  #jja3jbb ,some1 when they argue 
with you1 you must endeavor to convince2
  #jja3jbc others you must try to save1 
as brands plucked from the flames2      
and on others look with pity mingled    
with fear1 while you         hate every 
trace of their sin4  #jja3jbd ,but to   
,him who is able to keep you safe from  
stumbling1         and cause you to     
stand in the presence of ,his glory free

         from blemish and full of       
exultant joy--  #jja3jbe to the only    
,god our ,saviour--through ,jesus       
,christ our ,lord1         be ascribed  
glory1 majesty1 might1 and authority1 as
 it was         before all time1 is now1
 and shall be to all the ,ages6  ,amen4
