be blameless1 in preparation for the day

that what ,i have gone         through  
has turned out to the furtherance of the

become notorious among all the ,imperial
 ,guards1         and everywhere1 that  
it is for the sake of ,christ that ,i   
am a prisoner2  #jja3jad and the greater
 part of the brethren1 made confident in
 the ,lord         through my           
imprisonment1 now speak of ,god's       
,message without fear1         more     
boldly than ever4  #jja3jae ,some indeed
 actually preach ,christ out of envy and
 contentiousness         but there are  
also others who do it from good will4   
#jja3jaf ,these latter preach ,him from 
love to me1 knowing that ,i am          
here for the defence of the ,good ,news2
  #jja3jag while the others proclaim    
,him from motives of rivalry1           
and insincerely1 supposing that by this 
they are         embittering my         
imprisonment4  #jja3jah ,what does it   
matter1 however8  ,in any case ,christ  
is preached--         either perversely 
or in honest truth2 and in that ,i      
rejoice1         yes1 and will rejoice4 

#jja3jai ,for ,i know that it will      
result in my salvation through your     
prayers and a bountiful supply of the   
,spirit of ,jesus ,christ1  #jja3jbj in 
fulfilment of my eager expectation and  
hope that ,i shall         never have   
reason to feel ashamed1 but that by my  
perfect         freedom of speech       
,christ will be glorified in me1 now as 
always1         either by my life or by 
my death4  #jja3jba ,for1 with me1 to   
live is ,christ and to die is gain4     
#jja3jbb ,but since to live means a     
longer stay on earth1 that implies      
more labour for me--and not unsuccessful
 labour2 and which ,i         am to     
choose ,i cannot tell4  #jja3jbc ,i am  
in a dilemma1 my earnest desire being to
 depart and be         with ,christ1 for
 that is far1 far better4  #jja3jbd ,but
 for your sakes it is more important    
that ,i should still         remain in  
the body4  #jja3jbe ,i am convinced of  
this1 and ,i know that ,i shall remain1 
and shall go on working side by side    

with you all1 to promote         your   
progress and joy in the faith2  #jja3jbf
 so that1 as ,christians1 you may have  
additional reason for         glorying  
about me as the result of my being with 
you again4  #jja3jbg ,only let the lives
 you live be worthy of the ,good ,news  
of the ,christ1         in order that1  
whether ,i come and see you or1 being   
absent1         only hear of you1 ,i may
 know that you are standing fast        
in one spirit and with one mind1        
fighting shoulder to shoulder           
for the faith of the ,good ,news4       
#jja3jbh ,never for a moment quail      
before your antagonists4  ,your         
fearlessness         will be to them a  
sure token of impending destruction1    
but to you it will be a sure token of   
your salvation--         a token coming

the privilege granted you on behalf of  
,christ--         not only to believe in
 ,him1 but also to suffer on ,his       
behalf2  #jja3jcj maintaining1 as you   

do1 the same kind of conflict that you  
once         saw in me and which you    
still hear that ,i am engaged in4       
#jjb3jja ,if then ,i can appeal to you  
as the followers of ,christ1         if 
there is any persuasive power in love   
and any common         sharing of the   
,spirit1 or if you have any             
tender-heartedness         and          
compassion1 make my joy complete by

mutual love1 with harmony of feeling    
giving your minds         to one and the
 same object4  #jjb3jjc ,do nothing in a
 spirit of factiousness or of vainglory1
 but1         with true humility1 let   
every one regard the rest as being

each fixing his attention1 not simply on
 his own interests1         but on those

 disposition be in you which was in     
,christ ,jesus4  #jjb3jjf ,although from
 the beginning ,he had the nature of

equality with ,god a treasure to be

stripped ,himself of ,his glory1 and    
took on ,him the nature         of a    
bondservant by becoming a man like other
 men4  #jjb3jjh ,and being recognized as
 truly human1 ,he humbled ,himself      
and even stooped to die2 yes1 to die on 
a cross4  #jjb3jji ,it is in consequence
 of this that ,god has also so highly   
exalted ,him1 and has conferred on ,him 
the ,name which is supreme         above

 the ,name of ,,jesus every knee should

those on the earth1 and of those

every tongue should confess that ,,jesus

obedient1 labour earnestly with fear and

to make sure of your own salvation4

because he is longing to see you all and

is true that he has been ill1 and was   
apparently at         the point of

that when you see him again you may be  
glad and ,i may have         the less

to give you the same warnings as before

far as you are concerned it is a safe

the true circumcision--we who render to 
,god         a spiritual worship and    
make our boast in ,christ ,jesus        
and have no confidence in outward

 might have some excuse for confidence  
in         outward ceremonies4  ,if any 
one else claims a right to trust        
in them1 far more may ,i3  #jjc3jje     
circumcised1 as ,i was1 on the eighth   
day1 a member of the race         of    
,israel and of the tribe of ,benjamin1 a
 ,hebrew sprung         from ,hebrews2  
as to the ,law a ,pharisee2  #jjc3jjf as
 to zeal1 a persecutor of the ,church2  
as to the righteousness         which   
comes through ,law1 blameless4  #jjc3jjg
 ,yet all that was gain to me--for      
,christ's sake ,i have         reckoned

all things as pure loss because of      
the priceless privilege of knowing

for ,his sake ,i have suffered the loss 
of everything1         and reckon it all

win         ,christ and be found in

righteousness of my own1 derived from   
the ,law1         but that which arises 
from faith in ,christ--the righteousness
         which comes from ,god through

 and the power which is in ,his         
resurrection1         and to share in   
,his sufferings and die even as ,he     
died2  #jjc3jaa in the hope that ,i may 
attain to the resurrection from         
among the dead4  #jjc3jab ,i do not say 
that ,i have already won the race or    
have already         reached perfection4
  ,but ,i am pressing on1 striving to   
lay         hold of the prize for which 
also ,christ has laid hold of me4       
#jjc3jac ,brethren1 ,i do not imagine   

that ,i have yet laid hold of it4       
,but this one thing ,i do--forgetting   
everything which is past         and    
stretching forward to what lies in front
 of me1  #jjc3jad with my eyes fixed on 
the goal ,i push on to secure the prize 
of ,god's heavenward call in ,christ    
,jesus4  #jjc3jae ,therefore let all of 
us who are mature believers cherish     
these thoughts2 and if in any respect   
you think differently1         that also

,but whatever be the point that we have 
already reached1         let us         
persevere in the same course4  #jjc3jag 
,brethren1 vie with one another in      
imitating me1 and carefully             
observe those who follow the example

there are many whom ,i have often       
described to you1         and ,i now    
even with tears describe them1 as being 
enemies         to the ,cross of

destruction1 their bellies are their    

,god1         their glory is in their   
shame1 and their minds are devoted

however1 are free citizens of ,heaven1  
and we are waiting         with longing 
expectation for the coming from ,heaven 
of a ,saviour1         the ,lord ,jesus

of the power which ,he has even to      
subject         all things to ,himself1 
will transform this body of our         
humiliation until it resembles ,his own

brethren1 dearly loved and longed for1  
my joy         and crown1 so stand firm 
in the ,lord1 my dearly-loved ones4

 of good repute--if there is any virtue

 line of conduct which ,i taught you--  
both what you heard and what you saw in 

me--hold fast to them2         and ,god 
who gives peace will be with you4
