mere foreigners or persons excluded     
from civil rights4  ,on the contrary you
 share citizenship         with ,god's  
people and are members of ,his family4

been reared on the foundation         of

cornerstone being         ,christ ,jesus

form a holy sanctuary         in the

truth hitherto kept secret was made     
known to me as ,i have already briefly

you can judge         of my insight into
 the truth of ,christ  #jjc3jje which in
 earlier ages was not made known to the 
human race1         as it has now been  
revealed to ,his holy ,apostles and     
,prophets         through the ,spirit--

,gentiles are joint heirs with us ,jews1
         and that they form one body    
with us1 and have the same              
interest as we have in the promise which
 has been made good         in ,christ  
,jesus through the ,good ,news1         
#jjc3jjg in which ,i have been appointed
 to serve1 in virtue of         the work
 which ,god1 in the exercise of ,his    
power within me1         has graciously 
entrusted to me4  #jjc3jjh ,to me who am
 less than the least of all ,god's      
people has this         work been       

graciously entrusted--to proclaim to the
 ,gentiles         the ,good ,news of   
the exhaustless wealth of ,christ1      
#jjc3jji and to show all men in a clear 
light what my stewardship is4           
,it is the stewardship of the truth     
which from all the ,ages         lay    
concealed in the mind of ,god1 the

concealed in order that the ,church     
might now be used to         display to 
the powers and authorities in the       
heavenly realms         the innumerable 
aspects of ,god's wisdom4  #jjc3jaa     
,such was the eternal purpose which ,he 
had formed in         ,christ ,jesus our

bold and confident access through our

entreat you not to lose heart in the    
midst of my         sufferings on your  
behalf1 for they bring you honour4

 attain to a knowledge of the           
knowledge-surpassing love         of

within us1 is able to do infinitely     
beyond all our highest         prayers

then1 the prisoner for the ,master's    
sake1 entreat you         to live and   
act as becomes those who have received  
the call         that you have

of mind and unselfishness1 and with     
patience1         bearing with one      
another lovingly1 and earnestly         
striving to maintain1  #jjd3jjc in the  
uniting bond of peace1 the unity given

when you         were called you had one

re-ascended--what does it mean but that

,he who descended is the same as ,he who
 ascended again far         above all   
the ,heavens in order to fill the

appointed some to be ,apostles1 some to 
be ,prophets1         some to be        
evangelists1 some to be pastors and

equip ,his people for the work of       
serving--         for the building up of

of us arrive at oneness in faith and in 
the knowledge         of the ,son of    
,god1 and at mature manhood and the     
stature         of full-grown men in    
,christ4  #jjd3jad ,so we shall no      
longer be babes nor shall we resemble   
mariners         tossed on the waves and
 carried about with every changing wind 

of doctrine according to men's          
cleverness and unscrupulous cunning1    
making use of every shifting device to  
mislead4  #jjd3jae ,but we shall        
lovingly hold to the truth1 and shall in
 all respects         grow up into union
 with ,him who is our ,head1 even       
,christ4  #jjd3jaf ,dependent on ,him1  
the whole body--its various parts       
closely         fitting and firmly      
adhering to one another--grows by the   
aid         of every contributory link1 
with power proportioned to         the  
need of each individual part1 so as to  
build itself up         in a spirit of  
love4  #jjd3jag ,therefore ,i warn you1 
and ,i implore you in the name of the   
,master1         no longer to live as   
the ,gentiles in their perverseness     
live1  #jjd3jah with darkened           
understandings1 having by reason of the 
ignorance         which is deep-seated  
in them and the insensibility of their  
moral nature1 no share in the ,life     
which ,god gives4  #jjd3jai ,such men   

being past feeling have abandoned       
themselves to impurity1         greedily
 indulging in every kind of profligacy4 
#jjd3jbj ,but these are not the lessons 
which you have learned from ,christ2    
#jjd3jba if at least you have heard ,his
 voice and in ,him have been taught--   
and this is true ,christian teaching--  
#jjd3jbb to put away1 in regard to your 
former mode of life1         your       
original evil nature which is doomed to 
perish as befits         its misleading 
impulses1  #jjd3jbc and to get          
yourselves renewed in the temper of your
 minds         and clothe yourselves    
#jjd3jbd with that new and better self  
which has been created to resemble      
,god in the righteousness and holiness  
which come from the truth4  #jjd3jbe    
,for this reason1 laying aside          
falsehood1 every one of you should      
speak the truth to his fellow man2 for  
we are1 as it were1         parts of one
 another4  #jjd3jbf ,if angry1 beware of
 sinning4  ,let not your irritation last

 until         the sun goes down2       
#jjd3jbg and do not leave room for the  
,devil4  #jjd3jbh ,he who has been a    
thief must steal no more1 but1 instead  
of that1         should work with his   
own hands in honest industry1 so that   
he may have something of which he can   
give the needy a share4  #jjd3jbi ,let  
no unwholesome words ever pass your     
lips1 but let all your         words be 
good for benefiting others according to 
the need         of the moment1 so that 
they may be a means of blessing         
to the hearers4  #jjd3jcj ,and beware of
 grieving the ,holy ,spirit of ,god1 in 
whom you         have been sealed in    
preparation for the day of ,redemption4

passionate feeling1 all anger           
and loud insulting language1 be unknown 
among you--         and also every kind

learn to be kind to one another1        
tender-hearted1         forgiving one   
another1 just as ,god in ,christ has    

also forgiven you4  #jje3jja ,therefore 
be imitators of ,god1 as ,his dear      
children4  #jje3jjb ,and live and act   
lovingly1 as ,christ also loved you and 
gave         ,himself up to death on our
 behalf as an offering and sacrifice    
to ,god1 yielding a fragrant odor4

 of impurity1 or covetousness1          
let them not even be mentioned among    
you1 for they ought         not to be

,avoid shameful and foolish talk and low
 jesting--they are all         alike    
discreditable--and in place of these    
give thanks4  #jje3jje ,for be well     
assured that no fornicator or immoral   
person         and no money-grubber--or 
in other words idol-worshipper--        
has any share awaiting him in the       
,kingdom of ,christ and of ,god4

empty words1 for it is on account       
of these very sins that ,god's anger is 
coming upon the disobedient4  #jje3jjg  

,therefore do not become sharers with

you were nothing but darkness4          
,now1 as ,christians1 you are ,light    
itself4  #jje3jji ,live and act as sons 
of ,light--for the effect of the ,light 
is seen in every kind of goodness1      
uprightness and truth--  #jje3jaj and   
learn in your own experiences what is   
fully pleasing         to the ,lord4    
#jje3jaa ,have nothing to do with the   
barren unprofitable deeds         of    
darkness1 but1 instead of that1 set your
 faces against them2  #jje3jab for the  
things which are done by these people in
 secret it         is disgraceful even  
to speak of4  #jje3jac ,but everything  
can be tested by the light and thus be  
shown         in its true colors2 for   
whatever shines of itself is light4

,rise1 sleeper2 rise from among         
the dead1 and ,christ will shed light

careful how you live and act4           

,let it not be as unwise men1 but as    
wise4  #jje3jaf ,buy up your            
opportunities1 for these are evil times4

 yourselves wanting in sense1           
but try to understand what the ,lord's  
will is4  #jje3jah ,do not over-indulge 
in wine--a thing in which excess is so

,god's ,spirit4  ,speak to one another  
with         psalms and hymns and       
spiritual songs4  ,sing and offer praise
         in your hearts to the ,lord4

your thanks to ,god the ,father         
be presented in the name of our ,lord

one another out of reverence for

submit to your own husbands as if to the

the ,head of his wife as ,christ also is

 indeed the ,saviour of this ,his ,body4

women should be entirely submissive to

also1 each man is to love his own       
wife as much as he loves himself1 and   
let a married woman         see to it   
that she treats her husband with

obedient to your parents as a ,christian
 duty1         for it is a duty4        
#jjf3jjb ,honour your father and your   
mother--this is the first               
,commandment which has a promise added

 with you1 and that you may live long

fathers1 do not irritate your children1
