7,ecclesiasticus3#dh4be17 from the greatness of his prophetic spirit1 by which he hath foretold so long before1 and in so clear a manner1 the coming of ,christ1 the mysteries of our redemption1 the calling of the ,gentiles1 and the glorious establishment1 and perpetual flourishing of the church of ,christ3 insomuch that he may seem to have been rather an evangelist than a prophet4 ,his very name is not without mystery2 for ,isaias in ,hebrew signifies the salvation of the ,lord1 or ,jesus is the ,lord4 ,he was1 according to the tradition of the ,hebrews1 of the blood royal of the kings of ,juda3 and after a most holy life1 ended his days by a glorious martyrdom2 being sawed in two1 at the command of his wicked son in law1 ,king ,manasses1 for reproving his evil ways4 ,isaias ,chapter #a ,the prophet complains of the sins of ,juda and ,jerusalem1 and exhorts them to a sincere conversion4 #a3a4 ,the vision of ,isaias the ,son of ,amos1 which he saw concerning ,juda and ,jerusalem in the days of ,ozias1 ,joathan1 ,achaz1 and ,ezechias1 kings of ,juda4 #a3b4 ,hear1 ,o ye heavens1 and give ear1 ,o earth1 for the ,lord hath spoken4 ,i have brought up children1 and exalted them3 but they have despised me4 #a3c4 ,the ox knoweth his owner1 and the ass his master's crib3 but ,israel hath not known me1 and my people hath not understood4 #a3d4 ,woe to the sinful nation1 a people laden with iniquity1 a wicked seed1 ungracious children3 they have forsaken the ,lord1 they have blasphemed the ,holy ,one of ,israel1 they are gone away backwards4 #a3e4 ,for what shall ,i strike you any more1 you that increase transgression8 the whole head is sick1 and the whole heart is sad4 #a3f4 ,from the sole of the foot unto the top of the head1 there is no soundness therein3 wounds and bruises and swelling sores3 they are not bound up1 nor dressed1 nor fomented with oil4 #a3g4 ,your land is desolate1 your cities are burnt with fire3 your country strangers devour before your face1 and it shall be desolate as when wasted by enemies4 #a3h4 ,and the daughter of ,sion shall be left as a covert in a vineyard1 and as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers1 and as a city that is laid waste4 #a3i4 ,except the ,lord of hosts had left us seed1 we had been as ,sodom1 and we should have been like to ,gomorrha4 #a3aj4 ,hear the word of the ,lord1 ye rulers of ,sodom1 give ear to the law of our ,god1 ye people of ,gomorrha4 #a3aa4 ,to what purpose do you offer me the multitude of your victims1 saith the ,lord8 ,i am full1 ,i desire not holocausts of rams1 and fat of fatlings1 and blood of calves1 and lambs1 and buck goats4 #a3ab4 ,when you came to appear before me1 who required these things at your hands1 that you should walk in my courts8 #a3ac4 ,offer sacrifice no more in vain3 incense is an abomination to me4 ,the new moons1 and the sabbaths and other festivals ,i will not abide1 your assemblies are wicked4 #a3ad4 ,my soul hateth your new moons1 and your solemnities3 they are become troublesome to me1 ,i am weary of bearing them4 #a3ae4 ,and when you stretch forth your hands1 ,i will turn away my eyes from you3 and when you multiply prayer1 ,i will not hear3 for your hands are full of blood4 #a3af4 ,wash yourselves1 be clean1 take away the evil of your devices from my eyes1 cease to do perversely1 #a3ag4 ,learn to do well3 seek judgment1 relieve the oppressed1 judge for the fatherless1 defend the widow4 #a3ah4 ,and then come1 and accuse me1 saith the ,lord3 if your sins be as scarlet1 they shall be made as white as snow3 and if they be red as crimson1 they shall be white as wool4 #a3ai4 ,if you be willing1 and will hearken to me1 you shall eat the good things of the land4 #a3bj4 ,but if you will not1 and will provoke me to wrath3 the sword shall devour you because the mouth of the ,lord hath spoken it4 #a3ba4 ,how is the faithful city1 that was full of judgment1 become a harlot8 justice dwelt in it1 but now murderers4 #a3bb4 ,thy silver is turned into dross3 thy wine is mingled with water4 #a3bc4 ,thy princes are faithless1 companions of thieves3 they all love bribes1 they run after rewards4 ,they judge not for the fatherless3 and the widow's cause cometh not in to them4 #a3bd4 ,therefore saith the ,lord the ,god of hosts1 the mighty one of ,israel3 ,ah6 ,i will comfort myself over my adversaries3 and ,i will be revenged of my enemies4 #a3be4 ,and ,i will turn my hand to thee1 and ,i will clean purge away thy dross1 and ,i will take away all thy tin4 #a3bf4 ,and ,i will restore thy judges as they were before1 and thy counsellors as of old4 ,after this thou shalt be called the city of the just1 a faithful city4 #a3bg4 ,sion shall be redeemed in judgment1 and they shall bring her back in justice4 #a3bh4 ,and he shall destroy the wicked1 and the sinners together3 and they that have forsaken the ,lord1 shall be consumed4 #a3bi4 ,for they shall be confounded for the idols1 to which they have sacrificed3 and you shall be ashamed of the gardens which you have chosen4 #a3cj4 ,when you shall be as an oak with the leaves falling off1 and as a garden without water4 #a3ca4 ,and your strength shall be as the ashes of tow1 and your work as a spark3 and both shall burn together1 and there shall be none to quench it4 ,isaias ,chapter #b ,all nations shall flow to the church of ,christ4 ,the ,jews shall be rejected for their sins4 ,idolatry shall be destroyed4 #b3a4 ,the word that ,isaias the son of ,amos saw1 concerning ,juda and ,jerusalem4 #b3b4 ,and in the last days the mountain of the house of the ,lord shall be prepared on the top of mountains1 and it shall be exalted above the hills1 and all nations shall flow unto it4 ,the last days444 ,the whole time of the new law1 from the coming of ,christ till the end of the world1 is called in the scripture the last days2 because no other age or time shall come after it1 but only eternity4-,ibid4 ,on the top of mountains1 etc444 ,this shews the perpetual visibility of the church of ,christ3 for a mountain upon the top of mountains cannot be hid4 #b3c4 ,and many people shall go1 and say3 ,come and let us go up to the mountain of the ,lord1 and to the house of the ,god of ,jacob1 and he will teach us his ways1 and we will walk in his paths3 for the law shall come forth from ,sion1 and the word of the ,lord from ,jerusalem4 #b3d4 ,and he shall judge the ,gentiles1 and rebuke many people3 and they shall turn their swords into ploughshares1 and their spears into sickles3 nation shall not lift up sword against nation1 neither shall they be exercised any more to war4 #b3e4 ,o house of ,jacob1 come ye1 and let us walk in the light of the ,lord4 #b3f4 ,for thou hast cast off thy people1 the house of ,jacob3 because they are filled as in times past1 and have had soothsayers as the ,philistines1 and have adhered to strange children4 #b3g4 ,their land is filled with silver and gold3 and there is no end of their treasures4 #b3h4 ,and their land is filled with horses3 and their chariots are innumerable4 ,their land also is full of idols3 they have adored the work of their own hands1 which their own fingers have made4 #b3i4 ,and man hath bowed himself down1 and man hath been debased3 therefore forgive them not4 #b3aj4 ,enter thou into the rock1 and hide thee in the pit from the face of the fear of the ,lord1 and from the glory of his majesty4 #b3aa4 ,the lofty eyes of man are humbled1 and the haughtiness of men shall be made to stoop3 and the ,lord alone shall be exalted in that day4 #b3ab4 ,because the day of the ,lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and highminded1 and upon every one that is arrogant1 and he shall be humbled4 #b3ac4 ,and upon all the tall and lofty cedars of ,libanus1 and upon all the oaks of ,basan4 #b3ad4 ,and upon all the high mountains and upon all the elevated hills4 #b3ae4 ,and upon every high tower1 and every fenced wall4 #b3af4 ,and upon all the ships of ,tharsis1 and upon all that is fair to behold4 #b3ag4 ,and the loftiness of men shall be bowed down1 and the haughtiness of men shall be humbled1 and the ,lord alone shall be exalted in that day4 #b3ah4 ,and idols shall be utterly destroyed4 ,idols shall be utterly destroyed444 or utterly pass away4 ,this was verified by the establishment of ,christianity4 ,and by this and other texts of the like nature1 the wild system of some modern sectaries is abundantly confuted1 who charge the whole ,christian church with worshipping idols1 for many ages4 #b3ai4 ,and they shall go into the holes of rocks1 and into the caves of the earth from the face of the fear of the ,lord1 and from the glory of his majesty1 when he shall rise up to strike the earth4 #b3bj4 ,in that day a man shall cast away his idols of silver1 and his idols of gold1 which he had made for himself to adore1 moles and bats4 #b3ba4 ,and he shall go into the clefts of rocks1 and into the holes of stones from the face of the fear of the ,lord1 and from the glory of his majesty1 when he shall rise up to strike the earth4 #b3bb4 ,cease ye therefore from the man1 whose breath is in his nostrils1 for he is reputed high4 ,isaias ,chapter #c ,the confusion and other evils that shall come upon the ,jews for their sins4 ,the pride of their women shall be punished4 #c3a4 ,for behold the sovereign ,lord of hosts shall take away from ,jerusalem1 and from ,juda the valiant and the strong1 the whole strength of bread1 and the whole strength of water4 #c3b4 ,the strong man1 and the man of war1 the judge1 and the prophet and the cunning man1 and the ancient4 #c3c4 ,the captain over fifty1 and the honourable in countenance1 and the counsellor1 and the architect1 and the skilful in eloquent speech4 #c3d4 ,and ,i will give children to be their princes1 and the effeminate shall rule over them4 #c3e4 ,and the people shall rush one upon another1 and every man against his neighbour3 the child shall make a tumult against the ancient1 and the base against the honourable4 #c3f4 ,for a man shall take hold of his brother1 one of the house of his father1 saying3 ,thou hast a garment1 be thou our ruler1 and let this ruin be under thy hand4 #c3g4 ,in that day he shall answer1 saying3 ,i am no healer1 and in my house there is no bread1 nor clothing3 make me not ruler of the people4 #c3h4 ,for ,jerusalem is ruined1 and ,juda is fallen3 because their tongue1 and their devices are against the ,lord1 to provoke the eyes of his majesty4 #c3i4 ,the shew of their countenance hath answered them3 and they have proclaimed abroad their sin as ,sodom1 and they have not hid it3 woe to their souls1 for evils are rendered to them4 #c3aj4 ,say to the just man that it is well1 for he shall eat the fruit of his doings4 #c3aa4 ,woe to the wicked unto evil3 for the reward of his hands shall be given him4 #c3ab4 ,as for my people1 their oppressors have stripped them1 and women have ruled over them4 ,o my people1 they that call thee blessed1 the same deceive thee1 and destroy the way of thy steps4 #c3ac4 ,the ,lord standeth up to judge1 and he standeth to judge the people4 #c3ad4 ,the ,lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people1 and its princes3 for you have devoured the vineyard1 and the spoil of the poor is in your house4 #c3ae4 ,why do you consume my people1 and grind the faces of the poor8 saith the ,lord the ,god of hosts4 #c3af4 ,and the ,lord said3 ,because the daughters of ,sion are haughty1 and have walked with stretched out necks1 and wanton glances of their eyes1 and made a noise as they walked with their feet and moved in a set pace3 #c3ag4 ,the ,lord will make bald the crown of the head of the daughters of ,sion1 and the ,lord will discover their hair4 #c3ah4 ,in that day the ,lord will take away the ornaments of shoes1 and little moons1 #c3ai4 ,and chains and necklaces1 and bracelets1 and bonnets1 #c3bj4 ,and bodkins1 and ornaments of the legs1 and tablets1 and sweet balls1 and earrings1 #c3ba4 ,and rings1 and jewels hanging on the forehead1 #c3bb4 ,and changes of apparel1 and short cloaks1 and fine linen1 and crisping pins1 #c3bc4 ,and lookingglasses1 and lawns1 and headbands1 and fine veils4 #c3bd4 ,and instead of a sweet smell there shall be stench1 and instead of a girdle1 a cord1 and instead of curled hair1 baldness1 and instead of a stomacher1 haircloth4 #c3be4 ,thy fairest men also shall fall by the sword1 and thy valiant ones in battle4 #c3bf4 ,and her gates shall lament and mourn1 and she shall sit desolate on the ground4 ,isaias ,chapter #d ,after an extremity of evils that shall fall upon the ,jews1 a remnant shall be comforted by ,christ4 #d3a4 ,and in that day seven women shall take hold of one man1 saying3 ,we will eat our own bread1 and wear our own apparel3 only let us be called by thy name1 take away our reproach4 #d3b4 ,in that day the bud of the ,lord shall be in magnificence and glory1 and the fruit of the earth shall be high1 and a great joy to them that shall have escaped of ,israel4 ,the bud of the ,lord444 ,that is1 ,christ4 #d3c4 ,and it shall come to pass1 that every one that shall be left in ,sion1 and that shall remain in ,jerusalem1 shall be called holy1 every one that is written in life in ,jerusalem4 #d3d4 ,if the ,lord shall wash away the filth of the daughters of ,sion1 and shall wash away the blood of ,jerusalem out of the midst thereof1 by the spirit of judgment1 and by the spirit of burning4 #d3e4 ,and the ,lord will create upon every place of mount ,sion1 and where he is called upon1 a cloud by day1 and a smoke and the brightness of a flaming fire in the night3 for over all the glory shall be a protection4 #d3f4 ,and there shall be a tabernacle for a shade in the daytime from the heat1 and for a security and covert from the whirlwind1 and from rain4 ,isaias ,chapter #e ,the reprobation of the ,jews is foreshewn under the parable of a vineyard4 ,a woe is pronounced against sinners3 the army of ,god shall send against them4 #e3a4 ,i will sing to my beloved the canticle of my cousin concerning his vineyard4 ,my beloved had a vineyard on a hill in a fruitful place4 ,my cousin444 ,so the prophet calls ,christ1 as being of his family and kindred1 by descending from the house of ,david4 ,ibid4 ,on a hill1 etc444 ,literally1 in the horn1 the son of oil4 #e3b4 ,and he fenced it in1 and picked the stones out of it1 and planted it with the choicest vines1 and built a tower in the midst thereof1 and set up a winepress therein3 and he looked that it should bring forth grapes1 and it brought forth wild grapes4 #e3c4 ,and now1 ,o ye inhabitants of ,jerusalem1 and ye men of ,juda1 judge between me and my vineyard4 #e3d4 ,what is there that ,i ought to do more to my vineyard1 that ,i have not done to it8 was it that ,i looked that it should bring forth grapes1 and it hath brought forth wild grapes8 #e3e4 ,and now ,i will shew you what ,i will do to my vineyard4 ,i will take away the hedge thereof1 and it shall be wasted3 ,i will break down the wall thereof1 and it shall be trodden down4 #e3f4 ,and ,i will make it desolate3 it shall not be pruned1 and it shall not be digged3 but briers and thorns shall come up3 and ,i will command the clouds to rain no rain upon it4 #e3g4 ,for the vineyard of the ,lord of hosts is the house of ,israel3 and the man of ,juda1 his pleasant plant3 and ,i looked that he should do judgment1 and behold iniquity3 and do justice1 and behold a cry4 #e3h4 ,woe to you that join house to house and lay field to field1 even to the end of the place3 shall you alone dwell in the midst of the earth8 #e3i4 ,these things are in my ears1 saith the ,lord of hosts3 ,unless many great and fair houses shall become desolate1 without an inhabitant4 #e3aj4 ,for ten acres of vineyard shall yield one little measure1 and thirty bushels of seed shall yield three bushels4 #e3aa4 ,woe to you that rise up early in the morning to follow drunkenness1 and to drink in the evening1 to be inflamed with wine4 #e3ab4 ,the harp1 and the lyre1 and1 the timbrel and the pipe1 and wine are in your feasts3 and the work of the ,lord you regard not1 nor do you consider the works of his hands4 #e3ac4 ,therefore is my people led away captive1 because they had not knowledge1 and their nobles have perished with famine1 and their multitude were dried up with thirst4 #e3ad4 ,therefore hath hell enlarged her soul1 and opened her mouth without any bounds1 and their strong ones1 and their people1 and their high and glorious ones shall go down into it4 #e3ae4 ,and man shall be brought down1 and man shall be humbled1 and the eyes of the lofty shall be brought low4 #e3af4 ,and the ,lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment1 and the holy ,god shall be sanctified in justice4 #e3ag4 ,and the lambs shall feed according to their order1 and strangers shall eat the deserts turned into fruitfulness4 #e3ah4 ,woe to you that draw iniquity with cords of vanity1 and sin as the rope of a cart4 #e3ai4 ,that say3 ,let him make haste1 and let his work come quickly1 that we may see it3 and let the counsel of the ,holy ,one of ,israel come1 that we may know it4 #e3bj4 ,woe to you that call evil good1 and good evil3 that put darkness for light1 and light for darkness3 that put bitter for sweet1 and sweet for bitter4 #e3ba4 ,woe to you that are wise in your own eyes1 and prudent in your own conceits4 #e3bb4 ,woe to you that are mighty to drink wine1 and stout men at drunkenness4 #e3bc4 ,that justify the wicked for gifts1 and take away the justice of the just from him4 #e3bd4 ,therefore as the tongue of the fire devoureth the stubble1 and the heat of the flame consumeth it3 so shall their root be as ashes1 and their bud shall go up as dust3 for they have cast away the law of the ,lord of hosts1 and have blasphemed the word of the ,holy ,one of ,israel4 #e3be4 ,therefore is the wrath of the ,lord kindled against his people1 and he hath stretched out his hand upon them1 and struck them3 and the mountains were troubles1 and their carcasses became as dung in the midst of the streets4 ,for after this his anger is not turned away1 but his hand is stretched out still4 #e3bf4 ,and he will lift up a sign to the nations afar off1 and will whistle to them from the ends of the earth3 and behold they shall come with speed swiftly4 #e3bg4 ,there is none that shall faint1 nor labour among them3 they shall not slumber nor sleep1 neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed1 nor the latchet of their shoes be broken4 #e3bh4 ,their arrows are sharp1 and all their bows are bent4 ,the hoofs of their horses shall be like the flint1 and their wheels like the violence of a tempest4 #e3bi4 ,their roaring like that of a lion1 they shall roar like young lions3 yea they shall roar1 and take hold of the prey1 and they shall keep fast hold of it1 and there shall be none to deliver it4 #e3cj4 ,and they shall make a noise against them that day1 like the roaring of the sea2 we shall look towards the land1 and behold darkness of tribulation1 and the light is darkened with the mist thereof4 ,isaias ,chapter #f ,a glorious vision1 in which the prophet's lips are cleansed3 he foretelleth the obstinacy of the ,jews4 #f3a4 ,in the year that king ,ozias died1 ,i saw the ,lord sitting upon a throne high and elevated3 and his train filled the temple4 #f3b4 ,upon it stood the smoke4 #f3e4 ,and ,i said3 ,woe is me1 because ,i have held my peace2 because ,i am a man of unclean lips1 and ,i dwell in the midst of a people that hath unclean lips1 and ,i have seen with my eyes the ,king the ,lord of hosts4 #f3f4 ,and one of the seraphims flew to me1 and in his hand was a live coal1 which he had taken with the tongs off the altar4 #f3g4 ,and he touched my mouth1 and said3 ,behold this hath touched thy lips1 and thy iniquities shall be taken away1 and thy sin shall be cleansed4 #f3h4 ,and ,i heard the voice of the ,lord1 saying3 ,whom shall ,i send8 and who shall go for of this people1 and make their ears heavy1 and shut their eyes3 lest they see with their eyes1 and hear with their ears1 and understand with their heart1 and be converted and ,i heal them4 #f3aa4 ,and ,i said3 ,how long1 ,o ,lord8 ,and he said3 ,until the cities be wasted without inhabitant1 and the houses without man1 and the land shall be left desolate4 #f3ab4 ,and the ,lord shall remove men far away1 and she shall be multiplied that was left in the midst of the earth4 #f3ac4 ,and there shall be still a tithing therein1 and she shall turn1 and shall be made a show as a turpentine tree1 and as an oak that spreadeth its branches3 that which shall stand therein1 shall be a holy seed4 ,isaias ,chapter #g ,the prophet assures king ,achaz that the two kings his enemies shall not take ,jerusalem4 ,a virgin shall conceive and bear a son4 #g3a4 ,and it came to pass in the days of ,achaz the son of ,joathan1 the son of ,ozias1 king of ,juda1 that ,rasin king of ,syria and ,phacee the son of ,romelia king of ,israel1 came up to ,jerusalem1 to fight against it3 but they could not prevail over it4 #g3b4 ,and they told the house of ,david1 saying3 ,syria hath rested upon ,ephraim1 and his heart was moved1 and the heart of his people1 as the trees of the woods are moved with the wind4 #g3c4 ,and the ,lord said to ,isaias3 ,go forth to meet ,achaz1 thou and ,jasub thy son that is left1 to the conduit of the upper pool in the way of the fuller's field4 #g3d4 ,and thou shalt say to him3 ,see thou be quiet3 fear not1 and let not thy heart be afraid of the two tails of these firebrands1 smoking with the wrath of the fury of ,rasin king of ,syria1 and of the son of ,romelia4 #g3e4 ,because ,syria hath taken counsel against thee1 unto the evil of ,ephraim and the son of ,romelia1 saying3 #g3f4 ,let us go up to ,juda1 and rouse it up1 and draw it away to us1 and make the son of ,tabeel king in the midst thereof4 #g3g4 ,thus saith the ,lord ,god3 ,it shall not stand1 and this shall not be4 #g3h4 ,but the head of ,syria is ,damascus1 and the head of ,damascus is ,rasin3 and within threescore and five years1 ,ephraim shall cease to be a people3 #g3i4 ,and the head of ,ephraim is ,samaria1 and the head of ,samaria is the son of ,romelia4 ,if you will not believe1 you shall not continue4 #g3aj4 ,and the ,lord spoke again to ,achaz1 saying3 #g3aa4 ,ask thee a sign of the ,lord thy ,god1 either unto the depth of hell1 or unto the height above4 #g3ab4 ,and ,achaz said3 ,i will not ask1 and ,i will not tempt the ,lord4 #g3ac4 ,and he said3 ,hear ye therefore1 ,o house of ,david3 ,is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men1 that you are grievous to my ,god also8 #g3ad4 ,therefore the ,lord himself shall give you a sign4 ,behold a virgin shall conceive1 and bear a son and his name shall be called ,emmanuel4 #g3ae4 ,he shall eat butter and honey1 that he may know to refuse the evil1 and to choose the good4 #g3af4 ,for before the child know to refuse the evil and to choose the good1 the land which thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of the face of her two kings4 #g3ag4 ,the ,lord shall bring upon thee1 and upon thy people1 and upon the house of thy father1 days that have not come since the time of the separation of ,ephraim from ,juda with the king of the ,assyrians4 #g3ah4 ,and it shall come to pass in that day1 that the ,lord shall hiss for the fly1 that is in the uttermost parts of the rivers of ,egypt1 and for the bee that is in the land of ,assyria4 #g3ai4 ,and they shall come1 and shall all of them rest in the torrents of the be in all the land4 #g3be4 ,and as for the hills that shall be raked with a rake1 the fear of thorns and briers shall not come thither1 but they shall be for the ox to feed on1 and the lesser cattle to tread upon4 ,isaias ,chapter #h ,the name of a child that is to be born3 many evils shall come upon the ,jews for their sins4 #h3a4 ,and the ,lord said to me3 ,take thee a great book1 and write in it with a man's pen4 ,take away the spoils with speed1 quickly take the prey4 #h3b4 ,and ,i took unto me faithful witnesses1 ,urias the priest1 and ,zacharias the son of ,barachias4 #h3c4 ,and ,i went to the prophetess1 and she conceived1 and bore a son4 ,and the ,lord said to me3 ,call his name1 ,hasten to take away the spoils3 ,make hast to take away the prey4 #h3d4 ,for before the child know to call his father and his mother1 the strength of ,damascus1 and the spoils of ,samaria shall be taken away before the king of the ,assyrians4 #h3e4 ,and the ,lord spoke to me again1 saying3 #h3f4 ,forasmuch as this people hath cast away the waters of ,siloe1 that go with silence1 and hath rather taken ,rasin1 and the son of ,romelia3 #h3g4 ,therefore behold the ,lord will bring upon them the waters of the river strong and many1 the king of the ,assyrians1 and all his glory3 and he shall come up over all his channels1 and shall overflow all his banks4 #h3h4 ,and shall pass through ,juda1 be overcome1 and give ear1 all ye lands afar off3 strengthen yourselves1 and be overcome1 gird yourselves1 and be overcome4 #h3aj4 ,take counsel together1 and it shall be defeated3 speak a word1 and it shall not be done3 because ,god is with us4 #h3aa4 ,for thus saith the ,lord to me3 ,as he hath taught me1 with a strong arm1 that ,i should not walk in the way of this people1 saying3 #h3ab4 ,say ye not3 ,a conspiracy3 for all that this people speaketh1 is a conspiracy3 neither fear ye their fear1 nor be afraid4 #h3ac4 ,sanctify the ,lord of hosts himself3 and let him be your fear1 and let him be your dread4 #h3ad4 ,and he shall be a sanctification to you4 ,but for a stone of stumbling1 and for a rock of offence to the two houses of ,israel1 for a snare and a ruin to the inhabitants of ,jerusalem4 #h3ae4 ,and very many of them shall stumble and fall1 and shall be broken in pieces1 and shall be snared1 and taken4 #h3af4 ,bind up the testimony1 seal the law among my disciples4 #h3ag4 ,and ,i will wait for the ,lord1 who hath hid his face from the house of ,jacob1 and ,i will look for him4 #h3ah4 ,behold ,i and my children1 whom the ,lord hath given me for a sign1 and for a wonder in ,israel from the ,lord of hosts1 who dwelleth in mount ,sion4 #h3ai4 ,and when they shall say to you3 ,seek of pythons1 and of diviners1 who mutter in their enchantments3 should not the people seek of their ,god1 for the living of the dead8 ,seek of pythons444 ,that is1 people pretending to tell future things by a prophesying spirit4-,ibid4 ,should not the people seek of their ,god1 for the
