,ceremonies of the ,priests and ,levites4 ,the ,hebrews call it ,,vaicra1 from the word with which it begins4 ,leviticus ,chapter #a ,of holocausts or burnt offerings4 #a3a4 ,and the ,lord called ,moses1 and spoke to him from the tabernacle of the testimony1 saying3 #a3b4 ,speak to the children of ,israel1 and thou shalt say to them3 ,the man among you that shall offer to the ,lord a sacrifice of the cattle1 that is1 offering victims of oxen and sheep3 #a3c4 ,if his offering be a holocaust1 and of the herd1 he shall offer a male without blemish1 at the door of the testimony1 to make the ,lord favourable to him4 ,a holocaust444 ,that is1 a whole burnt offering 7olokauston71 so called1 because the whole victim was consumed with fire2 and given in such manner to ,god as wholly to evaporate1 as it were1 for his honour and glory2 without having any part of it reserved for the use of man4 ,the other sacrifices in the ,old ,testament were either offerings for sin1 or peace offerings3 and these latter again were either offered in thanksgiving for blessings received2 or by way of prayer for new favours or graces4 ,so that sacrifices were then offered to ,god for four different ends or intentions1 answerable to the different obligations which man has to ,god3 #a4 ,by way of adoration1 homage1 praise1 and glory due to his divine majesty4 #b4 ,by way of thanksgiving for all benefits received from him4 #c4 ,by way of confessing and craving pardon for sins4 #d4 ,by way of prayer and petition for grace and relief in all necessities4 ,in the ,new ,law we have but one sacrifice1 viz41 that of the body and blood of ,christ3 but this one sacrifice of the ,new ,testament perfectly answers all these four ends2 and both priest and people1 as often as it is celebrated1 ought to join in offering it up for these four ends4 #a3d4 ,and he shall put his hand upon the head of the victim3 and it shall be acceptable1 and help to its expiation4 #a3e4 ,and he shall immolate the calf before the ,lord3 and the priests the sons of ,aaron shall offer the blood thereof1 pouring it round about the altar1 which is before the door of the tabernacle4 #a3f4 ,and when they have flayed the victim1 they shall cut the joints into pieces3 #a3g4 ,and shall put fire on the altar1 having before laid in order a pile of wood4 #a3h4 ,and they shall lay the parts that are cut out in order thereupon3 to wit1 the head1 and all things that cleave to the liver2 #a3i4 ,the entrails and feet being washed with water4 ,and the priest shall burn them upon the altar for a holocaust1 and a sweet savour to the ,lord4 #a3aj4 ,and if the offering be of the flocks1 a holocaust of sheep or of goats1 he shall offer a male without blemish4 #a3aa4 ,and he shall immolate it at the side of the altar that looketh to the north1 before the ,lord3 but the sons of ,aaron shall pour the blood thereof upon the altar round about4 #a3ab4 ,and they shall divide the joints1 the head1 and all that cleave to the liver3 and shall lay them upon the wood1 under which the fire is to be put4 #a3ac4 ,but the entrails and the feet they shall wash with water4 ,and the priest shall offer it all and burn it all upon the altar for a holocaust1 and most sweet savour to the ,lord4 #a3ad4 ,but if the oblation of a holocaust to the ,lord be of birds1 of turtles1 or of young pigeons3 #a3ae4 ,the priest shall offer it at the altar3 and twisting back the neck1 and breaking the place of the wound1 he shall make the blood run down upon the brim of the altar4 #a3af4 ,but the crop of the throat1 and the feathers he shall cast beside the altar at the east side1 in the place where the ashes are wont to be poured out4 #a3ag4 ,and he shall break the pinions thereof1 and shall not cut1 nor divide it with a knife3 and shall burn it upon the altar1 putting fire under the wood4 ,it is a holocaust and oblation of most sweet savour to the ,lord4 ,leviticus ,chapter #b ,of offerings of flour1 and firstfruits4 #b3a4 ,when any one shall offer an oblation of sacrifice to the ,lord1 his offering shall be of fine flour3 and he shall pour oil upon it1 and put frankincense1 #b3b4 ,and shall bring it to the sons of ,aaron the priests4 ,and one of them shall take a handful of the flour and oil1 and all the frankincense2 and shall put it a memorial upon the altar for a most sweet savour to the ,lord4 #b3c4 ,and the remnant of the sacrifice shall be ,aaron's1 and his sons'1 holy of holies of the offerings of the ,lord4 ,holy of holies444 ,that is1 most holy1 as being dedicated to ,god1 and set aside by his ordinance for the use of his priests4 #b3d4 ,but when thou offerest a sacrifice baked in the oven of flour1 to wit1 loaves without leaven1 tempered with oil1 and unleavened wafers1 anointed with oil3 #b3e4 ,if thy oblation be from the fryingpan1 of flour tempered with oil1 and without leaven3 #b3f4 ,thou shalt divide it into little pieces1 and shalt pour oil upon it4 #b3g4 ,and if the sacrifice be from the gridiron1 in like manner the flour shall be tempered with oil4 #b3h4 ,and when thou offerest it to the ,lord1 thou shalt deliver it to the hands of the priest4 #b3i4 ,and when he hath offered it1 he shall take a memorial out of the sacrifice1 and burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour to the ,lord4 #b3aj4 ,and whatsoever is left1 shall be ,aaron's1 and his sons'3 holy of holies of the offerings of the ,lord4 #b3aa4 ,every oblation that is offered to the ,lord shall be made without leaven3 neither shall any leaven or honey be burnt in the sacrifice to the ,lord4 ,without leaven or honey444 ,no leaven nor honey was to be used in the sacrifice offered to ,god2 to signify that we are to exclude from the pure worship of the gospel1 all double dealing and affection to carnal pleasures4 #b3ab4 ,you shall offer only the firstfruits of them and gifts3 but they shall not be put upon the altar1 for a savour of sweetness4 #b3ac4 ,whatsoever sacrifice thou offerest1 thou shalt season it with salt3 neither shalt thou take away the salt of the covenant of thy ,god from thy sacrifice4 ,in all thy oblations thou shalt offer salt4 ,salt444 ,in every sacrifice salt was to be used1 which is an emblem of wisdom and discretion1 without which none of our performances are agreeable to ,god4 #b3ad4 ,but if thou offer a gift of the firstfruits of thy corn to the ,lord1 of the ears yet green1 thou shalt dry it at the fire1 and break it small like meal2 and so shalt thou offer thy firstfruits to the ,lord3 #b3ae4 ,pouring oil upon it and putting on frankincense1 because it is the oblation of the ,lord4 #b3af4 ,whereof the priest shall burn for a memorial of the gift1 part of the corn broken small and of the oil1 and all the frankincense4 ,leviticus ,chapter #c ,of peace offerings4 #c3a4 ,and if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offerings1 and he will offer of the herd1 whether male or female3 he shall offer them without blemish before the ,lord4 ,peace offerings444 ,peace1 in the scripture language1 signifies happiness1 welfare or prosperity2 in a word1 all kind of blessings4-,such sacrifices1 therefore1 as were offered either on occasion of blessings received1 or to obtain new favours1 were called pacific or peace offerings4 ,in these1 some part of the victim was consumed with fire on the altar of ,god2 other parts were eaten by the priests and by the persons for whom the sacrifice was offered4 #c3b4 ,and he shall lay his hand upon the head of his victim1 which shall be slain in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony3 and the sons of ,aaron the priests shall pour the blood round about upon the altar4 #c3c4 ,and they shall offer of the sacrifice of peace offerings1 for an oblation to the ,lord3 the fat that covereth the entrails1 and all the fat that is within1 #c3d4 ,the two kidneys with the fat wherewith the flanks are covered1 and the caul of the liver with the two little kidneys4 #c3e4 ,and they shall burn them upon the altar1 for a holocaust1 putting fire under the wood3 for an oblation of most sweet savour to the ,lord4 #c3f4 ,but if his oblation and the sacrifice of peace offering be of the flock1 whether he offer male or female1 they shall be without blemish4 #c3g4 ,if he offer a lamb before the ,lord3 #c3h4 ,he shall put his hand upon the head of the victim4 ,and it shall be slain in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony3 and the sons of ,aaron shall pour the blood thereof round about upon the altar4 #c3i4 ,and they shall offer of the victim of peace offerings1 a sacrifice to the ,lord3 the fat and the whole rump1 #c3aj4 ,with the kidneys1 and the fat that covereth the belly and all the vitals and both the little kidneys1 with the fat that is about the flanks1 and the caul of the liver with the little kidneys4 #c3aa4 ,and the priest shall burn them upon the altar1 for the food of the fire1 and of the oblation of the ,lord4 #c3ab4 ,if his offering be a goat1 and he offer it to the ,lord3 #c3ac4 ,he shall put his hand upon the head thereof3 and shall immolate it in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony4 ,and the sons of ,aaron shall pour the blood thereof round about upon the altar4 #c3ad4 ,and they shall take of it for the food of the ,lord's fire1 the fat that covereth the belly1 and that covereth all the vital parts3 #c3ae4 ,the two little kidneys with the caul that is upon them which is by the flanks1 and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys4 #c3af4 ,and the priest shall burn them upon the altar1 for the food of the fire1 and of a most sweet savour4 ,all the fat shall be the ,lord's4 #c3ag4 ,by a perpetual law for your generations1 and in all your habitations3 neither blood nor fat shall you eat at all4 ,fat444 ,it is meant of the fat1 which by the prescription of the law was to be offered on ,god's altar2 not of the fat of meat1 such as we commonly eat4 ,leviticus ,chapter #d ,of offerings for sins of ignorance4 #d3a4 ,and the ,lord spoke to ,moses1 saying3 #d3b4 ,say to the children of ,israel3 ,the soul that sinneth through ignorance1 and doth any thing concerning any of the commandments of the ,lord1 which he commanded not to be done3 ,ignorance444 ,to be ignorant of what we are bound to know is sinful2 and for such culpable ignorance1 these sacrifices1 prescribed in this and the following chapter1 were appointed4 #d3c4 ,if the priest that is anointed shall sin1 making the people to offend1 he shall offer to the ,lord for his sin a calf without blemish4 #d3d4 ,and he shall bring it to the door of the testimony before the ,lord3 and shall put his hand upon the head thereof1 and shall sacrifice it to the ,lord4 #d3e4 ,he shall take also of the blood of the calf3 and carry it into the tabernacle of the testimony4 ,the blood444 ,as the figure of the blood of ,christ shed for the remission of our sins1 and carried by him into the sanctuary of heaven4 #d3f4 ,and having dipped his finger in the blood1 he shall sprinkle with it seven times before the ,lord1 before the veil of the sanctuary4 #d3g4 ,and he shall put some of the same blood upon the horns of the altar of the sweet incense most acceptable to the ,lord1 which is in the tabernacle of the testimony4 ,and he shall pour all the rest of the blood at the foot of the altar of holocaust in the entry of the tabernacle4 #d3h4 ,and he shall take off the fat of the calf for the sin offering1 as well that which covereth the entrails1 as all the inwards3 #d3i4 ,the two little kidneys1 and the caul that is upon them1 which is by the flanks1 and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys3 #d3aj4 ,as it is taken off from the calf of the sacrifice of peace offerings4 ,and he shall burn them upon the altar of holocaust4 #d3aa4 ,but head3 and upon the mitre over the forehead1 he put the plate of gold1 consecrated with sanctification1 as the ,lord had commanded him4 #h3aj4 ,he took also the oil of unction1 with which he anointed the tabernacle1 with all the furniture thereof4 #h3aa4 ,and when he had sanctified and sprinkled the altar seven times1 he anointed it1 and all the vessels thereof3 and the laver with the foot thereof1 he sanctified with the oil4 #h3ab4 ,and he poured it upon ,aaron's head3 and he anointed and consecrated him4 #h3ac4 ,and after he had offered his sons1 he vested them with linen tunicks1 and girded them with girdles3 and put mitres on them as the ,lord had commanded4 #h3ad4 ,he offered also the calf for sin3 and when ,aaron and his sons had put their hands upon the head thereof1 #h3ae4 ,he immolated it3 and took the blood1 and dipping his finger in it1 he touched the horns of the altar round about4 ,which being expiated1 and sanctified1 he poured the rest of the blood at the bottom thereof4 #h3af4 ,but the fat that was upon the entrails1 and the caul of the liver1 and the two little kidneys1 with their fat1 he burnt upon the altar4 #h3ag4 ,and the calf with the skin1 and the flesh and the dung1 he burnt without the camp1 as the ,lord had commanded4 #h3ah4 ,he offered also a ram for holocaust4 ,and when ,aaron and his sons had put their hands upon its head3 #h3ai4 ,he immolated it1 and poured the blood thereof round about the altar4 #h3bj4 ,and cutting the ram into pieces1 the head thereof1 and the joints1 and the fat he burnt in the fire4 #h3ba4 ,having first washed the entrails1 and the feet1 and the whole ram together he burnt upon the altar3 because it was a holocaust of most sweet odour to the ,lord1 as he had commanded him4 #h3bb4 ,he offered also the second ram1 in the consecration of priests3 and ,aaron1 and his sons put their hands upon the head thereof4 #h3bc4 ,and when ,moses had immolated it1 he took of the blood thereof1 and touched the tip of ,aaron's right ear1 and the thumb of his right hand1 and in like manner also the great toe of his right foot4 #h3bd4 ,he offered also the sons of ,aaron3 and when with the blood of the ram that was immolated1 he had touched the tip of the right ear of every one of them1 and the thumbs of their right hands1 and the great toes of their right feet1 the rest he poured on the altar round about4 #h3be4 ,but the fat1 and the rump1 and all the fat that covereth the entrails1 and the caul of the liver1 and the two kidneys with their fat1 and with the right shoulder1 he separated4 #h3bf4 ,and taking out of the basket of unleavened bread1 which was before the ,lord1 a loaf without leaven1 and a cake tempered with oil and a wafer1 he put them upon the fat1 and the right shoulder3 #h3bg4 ,delivering all to ,aaron1 and to his sons4 ,who having lifted them up before the ,lord1 #h3bh4 ,he took them again from their hands1 and burnt them upon the altar of holocaust3 because it was the oblation of consecration1 for a sweet odour of sacrifice to the ,lord4 #h3bi4 ,and he took of the ram of consecration1 the breast for his portion1 elevating it before the ,lord1 as the ,lord had commanded him4 #h3cj4 ,and taking the ointment1 and the blood that was upon the altar1 he sprinkled ,aaron1 and his vestments1 and his sons1 and their vestments with it4 #h3ca4 ,and when he had sanctified them in their vestments1 he commanded them1 saying3 ,boil the flesh before the door of the tabernacle1 and there eat it4 ,eat ye also the loaves of consecration1 that are laid in the basket1 as the ,lord commanded me1 saying3 ,aaron and his sons shall eat them4 #h3cb4 ,and whatsoever shall be left of the flesh and the loaves1 shall be consumed with fire4 #h3cc4 ,and you shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle for seven days1 until the day wherein the time of your consecration shall be expired4 ,for in seven days the consecration is finished3 #h3cd4 ,as at this present it hath been done1 that the rite of the sacrifice might be accomplished4 #h3ce4 ,day and night shall you remain in the tabernacle observing the watches of the ,lord1 lest you die4 ,for so it hath been commanded me4 #h3cf4 ,and ,aaron and his sons did all things which the ,lord spoke by the hand of ,moses4 ,leviticus ,chapter #i ,aaron offereth sacrifice for himself and the people4 ,fire cometh from the ,lord upon the altar4 #i3a4 ,and when the eighth day was come1 ,moses called ,aaron and his sons1 and the ancients of ,israel1 and said to ,aaron3 #i3b4 ,take of the herd a calf for sin1 and a ram for a holocaust1 both without blemish1 and offer them before the ,lord4 #i3c4 ,and to the children of ,israel thou shalt say3 ,take ye a he goat for sin1 and a calf1 and a lamb1 both of a year old1 and without blemish for a holocaust4 #i3d4 ,also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings4 ,and immolate them before the ,lord1 offering for the sacrifice of every one of them flour tempered with oil3 for to day the ,lord will appear to you4 #i3e4 ,they brought therefore all things that ,moses had commanded before the door of the tabernacle3 where when all the multitude stood1 #i3f4 ,moses said3 ,this is the word1 which the ,lord hath commanded4 ,do it1 and his glory will appear to you4 #i3g4 ,and he said to ,aaron3 ,approach to the altar1 and offer sacrifice for thy sin4 ,offer the holocaust1 and pray for thyself and for the people3 and when thou hast slain the people's victim1 pray for them1 as the ,lord hath commanded4 #i3h4 ,and forthwith ,aaron1 approaching to the altar1 immolated the calf for his sin4 #i3i4 ,and his sons brought him the blood of it3 and he dipped his finger therein1 and touched the horns of the altar1 and poured the rest at the foot thereof4 #i3aj4 ,and the fat1 and the little kidneys1 and the caul of the liver1 which are for sin1 he burnt upon the altar1 as the ,lord had commanded ,moses4 #i3aa4 ,but the flesh and skins thereof he burnt with fire without the camp4 #i3ab4 ,he immolated also the victim of holocaust3 and his sons brought him the blood thereof1 which he poured round about on the altar4 #i3ac4 ,and the victim being cut into pieces1 they brought to him the head and all the members3 all which he burnt with fire upon the altar4 #i3ad4 ,having first washed the entrails and the feet with water4 #i3ae4 ,then offering for the sin of the people1 he slew the he goat3 and expiating the altar1 #i3af4 ,he offered the holocaust4 #i3ag4 ,adding in the sacrifice the libations1 which are offered withal1 and burning them upon the altar1 besides the ceremonies of the morning holocaust4 #i3ah4 ,he immolated also the bullock and the ram1 and peace offerings of the people3 and his sons brought him the blood1 which he poured upon the altar round about4 #i3ai4 ,the fat also of the bullock1 and the rump of the ram1 and the two little kidneys with their fat1 and the caul of the liver1 #i3bj4 ,they put upon the breasts4 ,and after the fat was burnt upon the altar1 #i3ba4 ,aaron separated their breasts1 and the right shoulders1 elevating them before the ,lord1 as ,moses had commanded4 #i3bb4 ,and stretching forth his hands to the people1 he blessed them4 ,and so the victims for sin1 and the holocausts1 and the peace offerings being finished1 he came down4 #i3bc4 ,and ,moses and ,aaron went into the tabernacle of the testimony1 and afterwards came forth and blessed the people4 ,and the glory of the ,lord appeared to all the multitude4 #i3bd4 ,and1 behold1 a fire1 coming forth from the ,lord1 devoured the holocaust1 and the fat that was upon the altar3 which when the multitude saw1 they praised the ,lord1 falling on their faces4 ,leviticus ,chapter #aj ,nadab and ,abiu for offering strange fire1 are burnt by fire4 ,priests are forbidden to drink wine1 when they enter into the tabernacle4 ,the law of eating the holy things4 #aj3a4 ,and ,nadab and ,abiu1 the sons of ,aaron1 taking their censers1 put fire therein1 and incense on it1 offering before the ,lord strange fire3 which was not commanded them4 #aj3b4 ,and fire coming out from the ,lord destroyed them3 and they died before the ,lord4 #aj3c4 ,and ,moses said to ,aaron3 ,this is what the ,lord hath spoken4 ,i will be sanctified in them that approach to me3 and ,i will be glorified in the sight of all the people4 ,and when ,aaron heard this1 he held his peace4 #aj3d4 ,and ,moses called ,misael and ,elisaphan1 the sons of ,oziel1 the uncle of ,aaron1 and said to them3 ,go and take away your brethren from before the sanctuary1 and carry them without the camp4 #aj3e4 ,and they went forthwith and took them as they lay1 vested with linen tunicks1 and cast them forth1 as had been commanded them4 #aj3f4 ,and ,moses said to ,aaron1 and to ,eleazar and ,ithamar1 his sons3 ,uncover not your heads1 and rend not your garments1 lest perhaps you die1 and indignation come upon all the congregation4 ,let your brethren1 and all the house of ,israel1 bewail the burning which the ,lord has kindled4 #aj3g4 ,but you shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle3 otherwise you shall perish1 for the oil of the holy unction is on you4 ,and they did all things according to the precept of ,moses4 #aj3h4 ,the ,lord also said to ,aaron3 #aj3i4 ,you shall not drink wine nor any thing that may make drunk1 thou nor thy sons1 when you enter into the tabernacle of the testimony1 lest you die4 ,because it is an everlasting precept2 through your generations3 #aj3aj4 ,and that you may have knowledge to discern between holy and unholy1 between unclean and clean3 #aj3aa4 ,and may teach the children of ,israel all my ordinances which the ,lord hath spoken to them by the hand of ,moses4 #aj3ab4 ,and ,moses spoke to ,aaron1 and to ,eleazar and ,ithamar1 his sons that were left3 ,take the sacrifice that is remaining of the oblation of the ,lord1 and eat it without leaven beside the altar1 because it is holy of holies4 #aj3ac4 ,and you shall eat it in a holy place3 which is given to thee and thy sons of the oblations of the ,lord1 as it hath been commanded me4 #aj3ad4 ,the breast also that is offered1 and the shoulder that is separated1 you shall eat in a most clean place1 thou and thy sons1 and thy daughters with thee4 ,for they are set aside for thee and thy children1 of the victims of peace offerings of the children of ,israel4 #aj3ae4 ,because they have elevated before the ,lord the shoulder and the breast1 and the fat that is burnt on the altar3 and they belong to thee and to thy sons by a perpetual law1 as the ,lord hath commanded4 #aj3af4 ,while these things were a doing1 when ,moses sought for the buck goat1 that had been offered for sin1 he found it burnt4 ,and being angry with ,eleazar and ,ithamar1 the sons of ,aaron that were left1 he said3 #aj3ag4 ,why did you not eat in the holy place the sacrifice for sin1 which is most holy1 and given to you1 that you may bear the iniquity of the people1 and may pray for them in the sight of the ,lord4 #aj3ah4 ,especially1 whereas none of the blood thereof hath been carried within the holy places3 and you ought to have eaten it in the sanctuary1 as was commanded me8 #aj3ai4 ,aaron answered3 ,this day hath been offered the victim for sin1 and the holocaust before the ,lord3 and to me what thou seest has happened4 ,how could ,i eat it1 or please the ,lord in the ceremonies1 having a sorrowful heart8 #aj3bj4 ,which when ,moses had heard he was satisfied4 ,leviticus ,chapter #aa ,the distinction of clean and unclean animals4 #aa3a4 ,and the ,lord ,the prohibition of so many kinds of beasts1 birds1 and fishes1 in the law1 was ordered1 #ast1 to exercise the people in obedience1 and temperance2 #bndly1 to restrain them from the vices of which the cud444 ,the dividing of the hoof and chewing of the cud1 signify discretion between good and evil1 and meditating on the law of ,god2 and where either of these is wanting a man is unclean4 ,in upon hands of all animals which go on all four1 shall be unclean3 he that shall touch their carcasses shall be defiled until evening4 #aa3bh4 ,and he that shall carry such carcasses1 shall wash his clothes1 and shall be unclean until evening3 because all these things are unclean to you4 #aa3bi4 ,these also shall be reckoned among unclean things1 of all that move upon the earth4 ,the weasel1 and the ,lord1 and shall pray for her3 and so she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood4 ,this is the law for her that beareth a man child or a maid child4 #ab3h4 ,and if her hand find not sufficiency1 and she is not able to offer a lamb1 she shall take two turtles1 or two young pigeons1 one for a holocaust1 and another for sin3 and the priest shall pray for her1 and so she shall be cleansed4 ,leviticus ,chapter #ac ,the law concerning leprosy in men1 and in garments4 #ac3a4 ,and the ,lord spoke to ,moses and ,aaron1 saying3 #ac3b4 ,the man in whose skin or flesh shall arise a different colour or a blister1 or as it were something shining1 that is the stroke of the leprosy1 shall be brought to ,aaron the priest1 or any or of his sons4 #ac3c4 ,and if he see the leprosy in his skin1 and the hair turned white and the place where the leprosy appears lower than the skin and the rest of the flesh3 it is the stroke of the leprosy1 and upon his judgment he shall be separated4 #ac3d4 ,but if there be a shining whiteness in the skin1 and not lower than the other flesh1 and the hair be of the former colour1 the priest shall shut him up seven days4 #ac3e4 ,and the seventh day he shall look on him3 and if the leprosy be grown no farther1 and hath not spread itself in the skin1 he shall shut him up again other seven days4 #ac3f4 ,and on the seventh day1 he shall look on him4 ,if the leprosy be somewhat obscure1 and not spread in the skin1 he shall declare him clean1 because it is but a scab3 and the man shall wash his clothes1 and shall be clean4 #ac3g4 ,but1 if the leprosy grow again1 after he was seen by the priest and restored to cleanness1 he shall be brought to him3 #ac3h4 ,and shall be condemned of uncleanness4 #ac3i4 ,if the stroke of the leprosy be in a man1 he shall be brought to the priest3 #ac3aj4 ,and he shall view him4 ,and when there shall be a white colour in the skin1 and it shall have changed the look of the hair1 and the living flesh itself shall appear3 #ac3aa4 ,it shall be judged an inveterate leprosy1 and grown into the skin4 ,the priest therefore shall declare him unclean3 and shall not shut him up1 because he is evidently unclean4 #ac3ab4 ,but if the leprosy spring out running about in the skin1 and cover all the skin from the head to the feet1 whatsoever falleth under the sight of the eyes3 #ac3ac4 ,the priest shall view him1 and shall judge that the leprosy which he has is very clean3 because it is all turned into whiteness1 and therefore the man shall be clean4 #ac3ad4 ,but when the live flesh shall appear in him3 #ac3ae4 ,then by the judgment of the priest he shall be defiled1 and shall be reckoned among the unclean4 ,for live flesh1 if it be spotted with leprosy1 is unclean4 #ac3af4 ,and if again it be turned into whiteness1 and cover all the man3 #ac3ag4 ,the priest shall view him1 and shall judge him to be clean4 #ac3ah4 ,when also there has been an ulcer in the flesh and the skin1 and it has been healed3 #ac3ai4 ,and in the place of the ulcer1 there appeareth a white scar1 or somewhat red1 the man shall be brought to the priest4 #ac3bj4 ,and when he shall see the place of the leprosy lower than the other flesh1 and the hair turned white3 he shall declare him unclean1 for the plague of leprosy is broken out in the ulcer4 #ac3ba4 ,but if the hair be of the former colour1 and the scar somewhat obscure1 and be not lower than the flesh that is near it3 he shall shut him up seven days4 #ac3bb4 ,and if it spread1 he shall judge him to have the leprosy3 #ac3bc4 ,but if it stay in its place1 it is but the scar of an ulcer3 and the man shall be clean4 #ac3bd4 ,the flesh also and skin that hath been burnt1 and after it is healed hath a white or a red scar3 #ac3be4 ,the priest shall view it1 and if he see it turned white1 and the place thereof is lower than the other skin3 he shall declare him unclean1 because the evil of leprosy is broken out in the scar4 #ac3bf4 ,but if the colour of the hair be not changed1 nor the blemish lower than the other flesh1 and the appearance of the leprosy be somewhat obscure3 he shall shut him up seven days1 #ac3bg4 ,and on the seventh day he shall view him4 ,if the leprosy be grown farther in the skin1 he shall declare him unclean4 #ac3bh4 ,but if the whiteness stay in its place1 and be not very clear1 it is the sore of a burning3 and therefore he shall be cleansed1 because it is only the scar of a burning4 #ac3bi4 ,if the leprosy break out in the head or the beard of a man or woman1 the priest shall see them1 #ac3cj4 ,and if the place be lower than the other flesh1 and the hair yellow1 and thinner than usual3 he shall declare them unclean1 because it is the leprosy of the head and the beard2 #ac3ca4 ,but if he perceive the place of the spot is equal with the flesh that is near it1 and the hair black3 he shall shut him up seven days1 #ac3cb4 ,and on the seventh day he shall look upon it4 ,if the spot be not grown1 and the hair keep its colour1 and the place of the blemish be even with the other flesh3 #ac3cc4 ,the man shall be shaven all but the place of the spot3 and he shall be shut up other seven days4 #ac3cd4 ,if on the seventh day the evil seem to have stayed in its place1 and not lower than the other flesh1 he shall cleanse him3 and his clothes being washed he shall be clean4 #ac3ce4 ,but if after his cleansing the spot spread again in the skin3 #ac3cf4 ,he shall seek no more whether the hair be turned yellow1 because he is evidently unclean4 #ac3cg4 ,but if the spot be stayed1 and the hair be black1 let him know that the man is healed3 and let him confidently pronounce him clean4 #ac3ch4 ,if a whiteness appear in the skin of a man or a woman1 #ac3ci4 ,the priest shall view them4 ,if he find that a darkish whiteness shineth in the skin1 let him know that it is not the leprosy1 but a white blemish1 and that the man is clean4 #ac3dj4 ,the man whose hair falleth off from his head1 he is bald and clean3 #ac3da4 ,and if the hair fall from his forehead1 he is bald before and clean4 #ac3db4 ,but if in the bald head or in the bald forehead there be risen a white or reddish colour3 #ac3dc4 ,and the priest perceive this1 he shall condemn him undoubtedly of leprosy which is risen in the bald part4 #ac3dd4 ,now whosoever shall be defiled with the leprosy1 and is separated by the judgment of the priest3 #ac3de4 ,shall have his clothes hanging loose1 his head bare1 his mouth covered with a cloth3 and he shall cry out that he is defiled and unclean4 #ac3df4 ,all the time that he is a leper and unclean he shall dwell alone without the camp4 #ac3dg4 ,a woollen or linen garment that shall have the leprosy #ac3dh4 ,in the warp1 and the woof3 or skin1 or whatsoever is made of a skin3 #ac3di4 ,if it be infected with a white or red spot1 it shall be accounted the leprosy1 and shall be shewn to the priest4 #ac3ej4 ,and he shall look upon it and shall shut it up seven days4 #ac3ea4 ,and on the seventh day when he looketh on it again1 if he find that it is grown1 it is a fixed leprosy4 ,he shall judge the garment unclean1 and every thing wherein it shall be found4 #ac3eb4 ,and therefore it shall be burnt with fire4 #ac3ec4 ,but if he see that it is not grown1 #ac3ed4 ,he shall give orders1 and they shall wash that part wherein the leprosy is3 and he shall shut it up other seven days4 #ac3ee4 ,and when he shall see that the former colour is not returned1 nor yet the leprosy spread1 he shall judge it unclean3 and shall burn it with fire1 for the leprosy has taken hold of the outside of the garment1 or through the whole4 #ac3ef4 ,but if the place of the leprosy be somewhat dark1 after the garment is washed1 he shall tear it off1 and divide it from that which is sound4 #ac3eg4 ,and if after this there appear in those places that before were without spot1 a flying and wandering leprosy3 it must be burnt with fire4 #ac3eh4 ,if it cease1 he shall wash with water the is the rite of a leper1 when he is to be cleansed4 ,he shall be brought to the priest3 #ad3c4 ,who going out of the camp1 when he shall find that the leprosy is cleansed1 #ad3d4 ,shall command him shall enter into the camp1 yet so that he tarry without his own tent seven days4 #ad3i4 ,and on the seventh day he shall shave the hair of his head1 and his beard and his eyebrows1 and the hair of all his body4 ,and having washed again his clothes1 and his body1 #ad3aj4 ,on the eighth day1 he shall take two lambs without blemish1 and an ewe of a year old without blemish1 and three tenths of flour
