,yahweh of ,armies says3  ,these people 
say1          ',the time hasn't yet     
come1 the time for ,yahweh's house      
to be built4'  #jja3jjc ,then the ,word 
of ,yahweh came by ,haggai1 the prophet1
 saying1  #jja3jjd ,is it a time for you
 yourselves to dwell in your paneled    
houses1          while this house lies  
waste8  #jja3jje ,now therefore this is 
what ,yahweh of ,armies says3           
,consider your ways4  #jja3jjf ,you have
 sown much1 and bring in little4  ,you  
eat1 but you don't          have enough4
  ,you drink1 but you aren't filled with

 drink4          ,you clothe yourselves1
 but no one is warm1 and he who earns   
wages earns wages to put them into a bag
 with holes in it4  #jja3jjg ,this is   
what ,yahweh of ,armies says3  ,consider
 your ways4  #jja3jjh ,go up to the     
mountain1 bring wood1 and build the     
house4          ,i will take pleasure in
 it1 and ,i will be glorified1 says     
,yahweh4  #jja3jji ,you looked for much1
 and1 behold1 it came to little2        
and when you brought it home1 ,i blew it
 away4  ,why8 says ,yahweh          of  
,armies1 ,because of my house that lies 
waste1 while each          of you is    
busy with his own house4  #jja3jaj      
,therefore for your sake the heavens    
withhold the dew1          and the earth
 withholds its fruit4  #jja3jaa ,i      
called for a drought on the land1 on the
 mountains1 on the grain1          on   
the new wine1 on the oil1 on that which 
the ground brings forth1          on    
men1 on livestock1 and on all the labor

,joshua1 the son          of ,jehozadak1
 the high priest1 with all the remnant  
of the people1          obeyed the voice
 of ,yahweh1 their ,god1 and the words  
of ,haggai1 the prophet1 as ,yahweh1

seventh month1 in the twenty-first day  
of the month1          the ,word of     

,yahweh came by ,haggai the prophet1    
saying1  #jjb3jjb ,speak now to         
,zerubbabel1 the son of ,shealtiel1     
governor of ,judah1          and to     
,joshua1 the son of ,jehozadak1 the high
 priest1          and to the remnant of 
the people1 saying1  #jjb3jjc ',who is  
left among you who saw this house in its
 former glory8          ,how do you see 
it now8  ,isn't it in your eyes as      
nothing8  #jjb3jjd ,yet now be strong1  
,zerubbabel1' says ,yahweh4             
',be strong1 ,joshua1 son of ,jehozadak1
 the high priest4          ,be strong1  
all you people of the land1' says       
,yahweh1 'and work1          for ,i am  
with you1' says ,yahweh of ,armies4     
#jjb3jje ,this is the word that ,i      
covenanted with you when you            
came out of ,egypt1 and my ,spirit lived
 among you4          ',don't be afraid4'

,armies says3  ',yet once1 it is        
a little while1 and ,i will shake the   
heavens1 the earth1          the sea1   

and the dry land2  #jjb3jjg and ,i will 
shake all nations4  ,the precious things
 of all          nations will come1 and 
,i will fill this house with glory1     
says ,yahweh of ,armies4  #jjb3jjh ,the 
silver is mine1 and the gold is mine1'  
says ,yahweh of ,armies4  #jjb3jji ',the
 latter glory of this house will be     
greater than the former1'          says 
,yahweh of ,armies2 'and in this place  
will ,i give peace1'          says      
,yahweh of ,armies4  #jjb3jaj ,in the   
twenty-fourth day of the ninth month1 in
 the second year          of ,darius1   
the ,word of ,yahweh came by ,haggai the
 prophet1 saying1  #jjb3jaa ,thus says  
,yahweh of ,armies3  ,ask now the       
priests concerning          the law1    
saying1  #jjb3jab ',if someone carries  
holy meat in the fold of his garment1   
and with his fold touches bread1 stew1  
wine1 oil1 or any food1          will it
 become holy8'  ,the priests answered1  
,no4  #jjb3jac ,then ,haggai said1 ,if  
one who is unclean by reason          of

 a dead body touch any of these1 will it
 be unclean8          ,the priests      
answered1 ,it will be unclean4  #jjb3jad
 ,then ,haggai answered1 ',so is this   
people1 and so is this nation           
before me1' says ,yahweh2 'and so is    
every work of their hands4              
,that which they offer there is unclean4
  #jjb3jae ,now1 please consider from   
this day and backward1 before a stone   
was laid on a stone in the temple of    
,yahweh4  #jjb3jaf ,through all that    
time1 when one came to a heap of twenty 
measures1          there were only ten4 
,when one came to the wine vat to draw  
out fifty1 there were only twenty4      
#jjb3jag ,i struck you with blight1     
mildew1 and hail in all the work        
of your hands2 yet you didn't turn to   
me1' says ,yahweh4  #jjb3jah ',consider1
 please1 from this day and backward1    
from the twenty-fourth          day of  
the ninth month1 since the day that the 
foundation          of ,yahweh's temple 
was laid1 consider it4  #jjb3jai ,is the

 seed yet in the barn8  ,yes1 the vine1 
the fig tree1          the pomegranate1 
and the olive tree haven't brought      
forth4          ,from this day will ,i  
bless you4'  #jjb3jbj ,the ,word of     
,yahweh came the second time to ,haggai 
in the          twenty-fourth day of the
 month1 saying1  #jjb3jba ,speak to     
,zerubbabel1 governor of ,judah1 saying1
 ',i will shake          the heavens and
 the earth4  #jjb3jbb ,i will overthrow 
the throne of kingdoms4  ,i will        
destroy the strength of the kingdoms of 
the nations4          ,i will overthrow 
the chariots1 and those who ride in     
them4          ,the horses and their    
riders will come down1 everyone by the  
sword          of his brother4  #jjb3jbc
 ,in that day1 says ,yahweh of ,armies1 
will ,i take you1          ,zerubbabel1 
my servant1 the son of ,shealtiel1' says
 ,yahweh1          'and will make you as
 a signet1 for ,i have chosen you1'     
says ,yahweh of ,armies4
