to ,nineveh1 that great city1 and preach
 against it1          for their         
wickedness has come up before me4       
#jja3jjc ,but ,jonah rose up to flee to 
,tarshish from the presence of ,yahweh4 
,he went down to ,joppa1 and found a    
ship going to ,tarshish2          so he 
paid its fare1 and went down into it1 to
 go with them          to ,tarshish from
 the presence of ,yahweh4  #jja3jjd ,but
 ,yahweh sent out a great wind on the   
sea1 and there          was a mighty    
storm on the sea1 so that the ship was  
likely          to break up4  #jja3jje  
,then the mariners were afraid1 and     
cried every man to his god4             
,they threw the cargo that was in the   
ship into the sea1          to lighten  
it4  ,but ,jonah had gone down into the 
innermost parts          of the ship1   

and he was laying down1 and was fast    
asleep4  #jja3jjf ,so the shipmaster    
came to him1 and said to him1 ,what do  
you mean1 sleeper8  ,arise1 call on your
 ,godor1 gods6          ,maybe your     
,godor1 gods will notice us1 so that we 
won't perish4  #jja3jjg ,they all said  
to each other1 ,come1 let us cast lots1 
that we may know for whose cause this   
evil is on us4          ,so they cast   
lots1 and the lot fell on ,jonah4       
#jja3jjh ,then they asked him1 ,tell us1
 please1 for whose cause this evil      
is on us4  ,what is your occupation8    
,where do you come from8          ,what 
is your country8  ,of what people are   
you8  #jja3jji ,he said to them1 ,i am a
 ,hebrew1 and ,i fear ,yahweh1 the ,god 
of heaven1 who has made the sea and the 
dry land4  #jja3jaj ,then were the men  
exceedingly afraid1 and said to him1    
,what is          this that you have    
done8  ,for the men knew that he was    
fleeing          from the presence of   
,yahweh1 because he had told them4      

#jja3jaa ,then said they to him1 ,what  
shall we do to you1 that the sea        
may be calm to us8  ,for the sea grew   
more and more stormy4  #jja3jab ,he said
 to them1 ,take me up1 and throw me into
 the sea4          ,then the sea will be
 calm for you2 for ,i know that because 
of me          this great storm is on   
you4  #jja3jac ,nevertheless the men    
rowed hard to get them back to the land2
          but they could not1 for the   
sea grew more and more          stormy  
against them4  #jja3jad ,therefore they 
cried to ,yahweh1 and said1 ,we beg you1
          ,yahweh1 we beg you1 let us   
not perish for this man's life1         
and don't lay on us innocent blood2 for 
you1 ,yahweh1 have done          as it  
pleased you4  #jja3jae ,so they took up 
,jonah1 and threw him into the sea2 and 
the sea          ceased its raging4     
#jja3jaf ,then the men feared ,yahweh   
exceedingly2 and they offered          a
 sacrifice to ,yahweh1 and made vows4   
#jja3jag ,yahweh prepared a great fish  

to swallow up ,jonah1 and ,jonah        
was in the belly of the fish three days 
and three nights4  #jjb3jja ,then ,jonah
 prayed to ,yahweh1 his ,god1 out of the
 fish's belly4  #jjb3jjb ,he said1 ,i   
called because of my affliction to      
,yahweh4          ,he answered me4  ,out
 of the belly of ,sheol ,i cried4       
,you heard my voice4  #jjb3jjc ,for you 
threw me into the depths1 in the heart  
of the seas4          ,the flood was all
 around me4  ,all your waves and your   
billows          passed over me4        
#jjb3jjd ,i said1 ',i have been banished
 from your sight2 yet ,i will look      
again toward your holy temple4'         
#jjb3jje ,the waters surrounded me1 even
 to the soul4  ,the deep was around me4 
,the weeds were wrapped around my head4

the mountains4  ,the earth barred       
me in forever3  yet have you brought up 
my life from the pit1          ,yahweh

 within me1 ,i remembered ,yahweh4      

,my prayer came in to you1 into your    
holy temple4  #jjb3jjh ,those who regard
 lying vanities forsake their own mercy4
  #jjb3jji ,but ,i will sacrifice to you
 with the voice of thanksgiving4        
,i will pay that which ,i have vowed4   
,salvation belongs to ,yahweh4  #jjb3jaj
 ,yahweh spoke to the fish1 and it      
vomited out ,jonah on the dry land4     
#jjc3jja ,the word of ,yahweh came to   
,jonah the second time1 saying1         
#jjc3jjb ,arise1 go to ,nineveh1 that   
great city1 and preach to it            
the message that ,i give you4  #jjc3jjc 
,so ,jonah arose1 and went to ,nineveh1 
according to the word          of       
,yahweh4  ,now ,nineveh was an          
exceedingly great city1          three  
days' journey across4  #jjc3jjd ,jonah  
began to enter into the city a day's    
journey1 and he cried out1          and 
said1 ,yet forty days1 and ,nineveh     
shall be overthrown6  #jjc3jje ,the     
people of ,nineveh believed ,god2 and   
they proclaimed a fast1          and put

 on sackcloth1 from the greatest of them
 even to          the least of them4    
#jjc3jjf ,the news reached the king of  
,nineveh1 and he arose from his throne1 
and took off his royal robe1 covered    
himself with sackcloth1          and sat
 in ashes4  #jjc3jjg ,he made a         
proclamation and published through      
,nineveh by the          decree of the  
king and his nobles1 saying1 ,let       
neither man          nor animal1 herd   
nor flock1 taste anything2 let them not 
feed1          nor drink water2         
#jjc3jjh but let them be covered with   
sackcloth1 both man and animal1         
and let them cry mightily to ,god4      
,yes1 let them turn everyone            
from his evil way1 and from the violence
 that is in his hands4  #jjc3jji ,who   
knows whether ,god will not turn and    
relent1 and turn away          from his 
fierce anger1 so that we might not      
perish8  #jjc3jaj ,god saw their works1 
that they turned from their evil way4   
,god relented of the disaster which he  

said he would do to them1          and  
he didn't do it4  #jjd3jja ,but it      
displeased ,jonah exceedingly1 and he   
was angry4  #jjd3jjb ,he prayed to      
,yahweh1 and said1 ,please1 ,yahweh1    
wasn't this what ,i          said when  
,i was still in my own country8         
,therefore ,i hurried          to flee  
to ,tarshish1 for ,i knew that you are a
 gracious ,god1          and merciful1  
slow to anger1 and abundant in loving   
kindness1          and you relent of    
doing harm4  #jjd3jjc ,therefore now1   
,yahweh1 take1 ,i beg you1 my life from 
me2          for it is better for me to 
die than to live4  #jjd3jjd ,yahweh     
said1 ,is it right for you to be angry8 
#jjd3jje ,then ,jonah went out of the   
city1 and sat on the east side of the   
city1          and there made himself a 
booth1 and sat under it in the shade1   
until he might see what would become of 
the city4  #jjd3jjf ,yahweh ,god        
prepared a vine1 and made it to come up 
over ,jonah1          that it might be a

 shade over his head1 to deliver him    
from his discomfort4  ,so ,jonah was    
exceedingly glad because          of the
 vine4  #jjd3jjg ,but ,god prepared a   
worm at dawn the next day1 and it chewed
          on the vine1 so that it       
withered4  #jjd3jjh ,it happened1 when  
the sun arose1 that ,god prepared a     
sultry          east wind2 and the sun  
beat on ,jonah's head1 so that he       
fainted1          and requested for     
himself that he might die1 and said1    
,it is better for me to die than to     
live4  #jjd3jji ,god said to ,jonah1 ,is
 it right for you to be angry about the 
vine8          ,he said1 ,i am right to 
be angry1 even to death4  #jjd3jaj      
,yahweh said1 ,you have been concerned  
for the vine1          for which you    
have not labored1 neither made it grow2 
which came up in a night1 and perished  
in a night4  #jjd3jaa ,shouldn't ,i be  
concerned for ,nineveh1 that great city1
          in which are more than one    
hundred twenty thousand persons         

who can't discern between their right   
hand and their left hand2          and  
also much livestock8
