third year of the reign of ,jehoiakim   
king of ,judah came                     
,nebuchadnezzar king of ,babylon to     
,jerusalem1 and besieged it4  #jja3jjb  
,the ,lord gave ,jehoiakim king of      
,judah into his hand1          with part
 of the vessels of the house of ,god2   
and he carried          them into the   
land of ,shinar to the house of his god3
          and he brought the vessels    
into the treasure house of his god4     
#jja3jjc ,the king spoke to ,ashpenaz   
the master of his eunuchs1          that
 he should bring in certain of the      
children of ,israel1          even of   
the seed royal and of the nobles2       
#jja3jjd youths in whom was no blemish1 
but well-favored1 and skillful in       
all wisdom1 and endowed with knowledge1 
and understanding science1          and 
such as had ability to stand in the     
king's palace2          and that he     

should teach them the learning and the  
language          of the ,chaldeans4    
#jja3jje ,the king appointed for them a 
daily portion of the king's dainties1   
and of the wine which he drank1 and that
 they should be          nourished three
 years2 that at the end of it they      
should stand          before the king4  
#jja3jjf ,now among these were1 of the  
children of ,judah1 ,daniel1            
,hananiah1 ,mishael1 and ,azariah4      
#jja3jjg ,the prince of the eunuchs gave
 names to them3  to ,daniel he gave     
the name of ,belteshazzar2 and to       
,hananiah1 of ,shadrach2          and to
 ,mishael1 of ,meshach2 and to ,azariah1
 of ,abednego4  #jja3jjh ,but ,daniel   
purposed in his heart that he would not 
defile himself          with the king's 
dainties1 nor with the wine which he    
drank3          therefore he requested  
of the prince of the eunuchs that       
he might not defile himself4  #jja3jji  
,now ,god made ,daniel to find kindness 
and compassion in the sight          of 

the prince of the eunuchs4  #jja3jaj    
,the prince of the eunuchs said to      
,daniel1 ,i fear my lord          the   
king1 who has appointed your food and   
your drink3          for why should he  
see your faces worse looking than the   
youths          who are of your own age8
 so would you endanger my head          
with the king4  #jja3jaa ,then said     
,daniel to the steward whom the prince  
of the eunuchs          had appointed   
over ,daniel1 ,hananiah1 ,mishael1 and  
,azariah3  #jja3jab ,prove your         
servants1 ,i beg you1 ten days2 and let 
them give          us pulse to eat1 and 
water to drink4  #jja3jac ,then let our 
faces be looked on before you1 and the  
face          of the youths who eat of  
the king's dainties2 and as you see1    
deal with your servants4  #jja3jad ,so  
he listened to them in this matter1 and 
proved them ten days4  #jja3jae ,at the 
end of ten days their faces appeared    
fairer1          and they were fatter in
 flesh1 than all the youths who ate     

of the king's dainties4  #jja3jaf ,so   
the steward took away their dainties1   
and the wine that they          should  
drink1 and gave them pulse4  #jja3jag   
,now as for these four youths1 ,god gave
 them knowledge and skill          in   
all learning and wisdom3  and ,daniel   
had understanding          in all       
visions and dreams4  #jja3jah ,at the   
end of the days which the king had      
appointed for          bringing them in1
 the prince of the eunuchs brought them 
in before ,nebuchadnezzar4  #jja3jai    
,the king talked with them2 and among   
them all was found          none like   
,daniel1 ,hananiah1 ,mishael1 and       
,azariah3          therefore stood they 
before the king4  #jja3jbj ,in every    
matter of wisdom and understanding1     
concerning which          the king      
inquired of them1 he found them ten     
times better than          all the      
magicians and enchanters who were in all
 his realm4  #jja3jba ,daniel continued 
even to the first year of king ,cyrus4  

#jjb3jja ,in the second year of the     
reign of ,nebuchadnezzar1               
,nebuchadnezzar          dreamed dreams2
 and his spirit was troubled1 and his   
sleep          went from him4  #jjb3jjb 
,then the king commanded to call the    
magicians1 and the enchanters1          
and the sorcerers1 and the ,chaldeans1  
to tell the king his dreams4            
,so they came in and stood before the   
king4  #jjb3jjc ,the king said to them1 
,i have dreamed a dream1 and my spirit  
is troubled to know the dream4  #jjb3jjd
 ,then spoke the ,chaldeans to the king 
in the ,syrian language1          ,o    
king1 live forever3  tell your servants 
the dream1 and we          will show the
 interpretation4  #jjb3jje ,the king    
answered the ,chaldeans1 ,the thing is  
gone from me3          if you don't make
 known to me the dream and the          
interpretation          of it1 you shall
 be cut in pieces1 and your houses shall
          be made a dunghill4  #jjb3jjf 
,but if you show the dream and the      

interpretation of it1          you shall
 receive of me gifts and rewards and    
great honor3          therefore show me 
the dream and the interpretation of it4 
#jjb3jjg ,they answered the second time 
and said1 ,let the king tell            
his servants the dream1 and we will show
 the interpretation4  #jjb3jjh ,the king
 answered1 ,i know of a certainty that  
you would gain time1          because   
you see the thing is gone from me4      
#jjb3jji ,but if you don't make known to
 me the dream1 there is but          one
 law for you2 for you have prepared     
lying and corrupt          words to     
speak before me1 until the time be      
changed3          therefore tell me the 
dream1 and ,i shall know that you can   
show me the interpretation of it4       
#jjb3jaj ,the ,chaldeans answered before
 the king1 and said1 ,there is          
not a man on the earth who can show the 
king's matter1          because no king1
 lord1 or ruler1 has asked such a thing 
of any magician1 or enchanter1 or       

,chaldean4  #jjb3jaa ,it is a rare thing
 that the king requires1 and there is no
          other who can show it before  
the king1 except the gods1              
whose dwelling is not with flesh4       
#jjb3jab ,for this cause the king was   
angry and very furious1 and commanded   
to destroy all the wise men of ,babylon4
  #jjb3jac ,so the decree went forth1   
and the wise men were to be slain2      
and they sought ,daniel and his         
companions to be slain4  #jjb3jad ,then 
,daniel returned answer with counsel and
 prudence to ,arioch          the       
captain of the king's guard1 who was    
gone forth to kill          the wise men
 of ,babylon2  #jjb3jae he answered     
,arioch the king's captain1 ,why is the 
decree so urgent          from the king8
  ,then ,arioch made the thing known to 
,daniel4  #jjb3jaf ,daniel went in1 and 
desired of the king that he would       
appoint          him a time1 and he     
would show the king the interpretation4 
#jjb3jag ,then ,daniel went to his      

house1 and made the thing known         
to ,hananiah1 ,mishael1 and ,azariah1   
his companions3  #jjb3jah that they     
would desire mercies of the ,god of     
heaven concerning          this secret2 
that ,daniel and his companions should  
not perish          with the rest of the
 wise men of ,babylon4  #jjb3jai ,then  
was the secret revealed to ,daniel in a 
vision of the night4          ,then     
,daniel blessed the ,god of heaven4     
#jjb3jbj ,daniel answered1 ,blessed be  
the name of ,god forever and ever2      
for wisdom and might are his4  #jjb3jba 
,he changes the times and the seasons2  
he removes kings1          and sets up  
kings2 he gives wisdom to the wise1 and 
knowledge          to those who have    
understanding2  #jjb3jbb he reveals the 
deep and secret things2 he knows what is
 in          the darkness1 and the light
 dwells with him4  #jjb3jbc ,i thank    
you1 and praise you1 you ,god of my     
fathers1          who have given me     
wisdom and might1 and have now made     

known          to me what we desired of 
you2 for you have made known to us      
the king's matter4  #jjb3jbd ,therefore 
,daniel went in to ,arioch1 whom the    
king had appointed          to destroy  
the wise men of ,babylon2 he went and   
said thus to him3          ,don't       
destroy the wise men of ,babylon2 bring 
me in before          the king1 and ,i  
will show to the king the               
interpretation4  #jjb3jbe ,then ,arioch 
brought in ,daniel before the king in   
haste1 and said          thus to him1 ,i
 have found a man of the children of the
 captivity          of ,judah1 who will 
make known to the king the              
interpretation4  #jjb3jbf ,the king     
answered ,daniel1 whose name was        
,belteshazzar1 ,are you          able to
 make known to me the dream which ,i    
have seen1          and the             
interpretation of it8  #jjb3jbg ,daniel 
answered before the king1 and said1 ,the
 secret which the king          has     
demanded can neither wise men1          

enchanters1 magicians1          nor     
soothsayers1 show to the king2  #jjb3jbh
 but there is a ,god in heaven who      
reveals secrets1 and he has made        
known to the king ,nebuchadnezzar what  
shall be in the latter days4            
,your dream1 and the visions of your    
head on your bed1 are these3  #jjb3jbi  
as for you1 ,o king1 your thoughts came 
into your mind on          your bed1    
what should happen hereafter2 and he who
 reveals          secrets has made known
 to you what shall happen4  #jjb3jcj    
,but as for me1 this secret is not      
revealed to me for any          wisdom  
that ,i have more than any living1 but  
to the intent          that the         
interpretation may be made known to the 
king1          and that you may know the
 thoughts of your heart4  #jjb3jca ,you1
 ,o king1 saw1 and behold1 a great      
image4  ,this image1          which was 
mighty1 and whose brightness was        
excellent1          stood before you2   
and the aspect of it was awesome4       

#jjb3jcb ,as for this image1 its head   
was of fine gold1 its breast            
and its arms of silver1 its belly and   
its thighs of brass1  #jjb3jcc its legs 
of iron1 its feet part of iron1 and part
 of clay4  #jjb3jcd ,you saw until a    
stone was cut out without hands1 which  
struck          the image on its feet   
that were of iron and clay1 and broke   
them in pieces4  #jjb3jce ,then was the 
iron1 the clay1 the brass1 the silver1  
and the gold1 broken in pieces together1
 and became like          the chaff of  
the summer threshing floors2 and the    
wind          carried them away1 so that
 no place was found for them3           
and the stone that struck the image     
became a great mountain1          and   
filled the whole earth4  #jjb3jcf ,this 
is the dream2 and we will tell the      
interpretation of it          before the
 king4  #jjb3jcg ,you1 ,o king1 are king
 of kings1 to whom the ,god of heaven   
has          given the kingdom1 the     
power1 and the strength1 and the glory2 

#jjb3jch and wherever the children of   
men dwell1 the animals of the field     
and the birds of the sky has he given   
into your hand1 and has          made   
you to rule over them all3  you are the 
head of gold4  #jjb3jci ,after you shall
 arise another kingdom inferior to you2 
and another third kingdom of brass1     
which shall bear rule          over all 
the earth4  #jjb3jdj ,the fourth kingdom
 shall be strong as iron1 because iron  
breaks          in pieces and subdues   
all things2 and as iron that crushes    
all these1 shall it break in pieces and 
crush4  #jjb3jda ,whereas you saw the   
feet and toes1 part of potters'         
clay1 and part of iron1 it shall be a   
divided kingdom2          but there     
shall be in it of the strength of the   
iron1          because you saw the iron 
mixed with miry clay4  #jjb3jdb ,as the 
toes of the feet were part of iron1 and 
part of clay1          so the kingdom   
shall be partly strong1 and partly      
broken4  #jjb3jdc ,whereas you saw the  

iron mixed with miry clay1 they shall   
mingle          themselves with the seed
 of men2 but they shall not cling       
to one another1 even as iron does not   
mingle with clay4  #jjb3jdd ,in the days
 of those kings shall the ,god of heaven
 set up a kingdom          which shall  
never be destroyed1 nor shall the       
sovereignty          of it be left to   
another people2 but it shall break in   
pieces          and consume all these   
kingdoms1 and it shall stand forever4   
#jjb3jde ,because you saw that a stone  
was cut out of the mountain             
without hands1 and that it broke in     
pieces the iron1          the brass1 the
 clay1 the silver1 and the gold2 the    
great ,god          has made known to   
the king what shall happen hereafter3   
and the dream is certain1 and the       
interpretation of it sure4  #jjb3jdf    
,then the king ,nebuchadnezzar fell on  
his face1 and worshiped ,daniel1        
and commanded that they should offer an 
offering and sweet          odors to    

him4  #jjb3jdg ,the king answered to    
,daniel1 and said1 ,of a truth your ,god
          is the ,god of gods1 and the  
,lord of kings1 and a revealer          
of secrets1 seeing you have been able to
 reveal this secret4  #jjb3jdh ,then the
 king made ,daniel great1 and gave him  
many great gifts1          and made him 
to rule over the whole province of      
,babylon1          and to be chief      
governor over all the wise men of       
,babylon4  #jjb3jdi ,daniel requested of
 the king1 and he appointed ,shadrach1  
,meshach1          and ,abednego1 over  
the affairs of the province of ,babylon3
          but ,daniel was in the gate of
 the king4  #jjc3jja ,nebuchadnezzar the
 king made an image of gold1 whose      
height          was sixty cubits1 and   
the breadth of it six cubits3           
he set it up in the plain of ,dura1 in  
the province of ,babylon4  #jjc3jjb     
,then ,nebuchadnezzar the king sent to  
gather together the satraps1            
the deputies1 and the governors1 the    

judges1 the treasurers1          the    
counselors1 the sheriffs1 and all the   
rulers of the provinces1          to    
come to the dedication of the image     
which ,nebuchadnezzar          the king 
had set up4  #jjc3jjc ,then the satraps1
 the deputies1 and the governors1 the   
judges1          the treasurers1 the    
counselors1 the sheriffs1 and all the   
rulers          of the provinces1 were  
gathered together to the dedication     
of the image that ,nebuchadnezzar the   
king had set up2          and they stood
 before the image that ,nebuchadnezzar  
had set up4  #jjc3jjd ,then the herald  
cried aloud1 ,to you it is commanded1   
peoples1 nations1 and languages1        
#jjc3jje that whenever you hear the     
sound of the horn1 flute1 zither1       
lyre1 harp1 pipe1 and all kinds of      
music1 you fall down          and       
worship the golden image that           
,nebuchadnezzar the king          has   
set up2  #jjc3jjf and whoever doesn't   
fall down and worship shall the same    

hour          be cast into the midst of 
a burning fiery furnace4  #jjc3jjg      
,therefore at that time1 when all the   
peoples heard the sound          of the 
horn1 flute1 zither1 lyre1 harp1 pipe1  
and all kinds          of music1 all the
 peoples1 the nations1 and the          
languages1          fell down and       
worshiped the golden image that         
,nebuchadnezzar          the king had   
set up4  #jjc3jjh ,therefore at that    
time certain ,chaldeans came near1 and  
brought          accusation against the 
,jews4  #jjc3jji ,they answered         
,nebuchadnezzar the king1 ,o king1 live 
for ever4  #jjc3jaj ,you1 ,o king1 have 
made a decree1 that every man that shall
 hear          the sound of the horn1   
flute1 zither1 lyre1 harp1 pipe1 and all
          kinds of music1 shall fall    
down and worship the golden image2      
#jjc3jaa and whoever doesn't fall down  
and worship shall be cast into          
the midst of a burning fiery furnace4   
#jjc3jab ,there are certain ,jews whom  

you have appointed over the affairs     
of the province of ,babylon3  ,shadrach1
 ,meshach1 and ,abednego2          these
 men1 ,o king1 have not regarded you3   
they don't serve          your gods1 nor
 worship the golden image which you have
 set up4  #jjc3jac ,then ,nebuchadnezzar
 in his rage and fury commanded to      
bring ,shadrach1 ,meshach1 and          
,abednego4  ,then they brought          
these men before the king4  #jjc3jad    
,nebuchadnezzar answered them1 ,is it on
 purpose1 ,shadrach1 ,meshach1          
and ,abednego1 that you don't serve my  
god1 nor worship          the golden    
image which ,i have set up8  #jjc3jae   
,now if you are ready whenever you hear 
the sound of the horn1          flute1  
zither1 lyre1 harp1 pipe1 and all kinds 
of music          to fall down and      
worship the image which ,i have made1   
well3 but if you don't worship1 you     
shall be cast          the same hour    
into the midst of a burning fiery       
furnace2          and who is that god   

that shall deliver you out of my hands8 
#jjc3jaf ,shadrach1 ,meshach1 and       
,abednego answered the king1            
,nebuchadnezzar1          we have no    
need to answer you in this matter4      
#jjc3jag ,if it be so1 our ,god whom we 
serve is able to deliver us             
from the burning fiery furnace2 and he  
will deliver us out          of your    
hand1 ,o king4  #jjc3jah ,but if not1 be
 it known to you1 ,o king1 that we will 
not serve          your gods1 nor       
worship the golden image which you have 
set up4  #jjc3jai ,then was             
,nebuchadnezzar full of fury1 and the   
form of his          visage was changed 
against ,shadrach1 ,meshach1 and        
,abednego3          therefore he spoke1 
and commanded that they should heat     
the furnace seven times more than it was
 usually heated4  #jjc3jbj ,he commanded
 certain mighty men who were in his army
 to          bind ,shadrach1 ,meshach1  
and ,abednego1 and to cast them         
into the burning fiery furnace4         

#jjc3jba ,then these men were bound in  
their pants1 their tunics1          and 
their mantles1 and their other garments1
 and were cast          into the midst  
of the burning fiery furnace4  #jjc3jbb 
,therefore because the king's           
commandment was urgent1          and the
 furnace exceeding hot1 the flame of the
 fire killed          those men who took
 up ,shadrach1 ,meshach1 and ,abednego4 
#jjc3jbc ,these three men1 ,shadrach1   
,meshach1 and ,abednego1 fell down      
bound into the midst of the burning     
fiery furnace4  #jjc3jbd ,then          
,nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished1
 and rose          up in haste3  he     
spoke and said to his counselors1       
,didn't we cast three men bound into the
 midst of the fire8          ,they      
answered the king1 ,true1 ,o king4      
#jjc3jbe ,he answered1 ,look1 ,i see    
four men loose1 walking in the midst    
of the fire1 and they have no hurt2 and 
the aspect of the fourth          is    
like a son of the gods4  #jjc3jbf ,then 

,nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth  
of the burning          fiery furnace3  
he spoke and said1 ,shadrach1 ,meshach1 
and ,abednego1          you servants of 
the ,most ,high ,god1 come forth1 and   
come here4          ,then ,shadrach1    
,meshach1 and ,abednego came forth out  
of the midst          of the fire4      
#jjc3jbg ,the satraps1 the deputies1 and
 the governors1 and the          king's 
counselors1 being gathered together1 saw
 these men1          that the fire had  
no power on their bodies1 nor was the   
hair          of their head singed1     
neither were their pants changed1       
nor had the smell of fire passed on     
them4  #jjc3jbh ,nebuchadnezzar spoke   
and said1 ,blessed be the ,god          
of ,shadrach1 ,meshach1 and ,abednego1  
who has sent his angel1          and    
delivered his servants who trusted in   
him1 and have changed          the      
king's word1 and have yielded their     
bodies1 that they          might not    
serve nor worship any god1 except their 

own ,god4  #jjc3jbi ,therefore ,i make a
 decree1 that every people1 nation1 and 
language1          which speak anything 
evil against the ,god of ,shadrach1     
,meshach1          and ,abednego1 shall 
be cut in pieces1 and their houses shall
          be made a dunghill2 because   
there is no other god who is able       
to deliver after this sort4  #jjc3jcj   
,then the king promoted ,shadrach1      
,meshach1 and ,abednego          in the 
province of ,babylon4  #jjd3jja         
,nebuchadnezzar the king1 to all the    
peoples1 nations1 and languages1        
who dwell in all the earth3  ,peace be  
multiplied to you4  #jjd3jjb ,it has    
seemed good to me to show the signs and 
wonders that          the ,most ,high   
,god has worked toward me4  #jjd3jjc    
,how great are his signs6 and how mighty
 are his wonders6 his          kingdom  
is an everlasting kingdom1 and his      
dominion is from          generation to 
generation4  #jjd3jjd ,i1               
,nebuchadnezzar1 was at rest in my      

house1 and flourishing          in my   
palace4  #jjd3jje ,i saw a dream which  
made me afraid2 and the thoughts on my  
bed          and the visions of my head 
troubled me4  #jjd3jjf ,therefore made  
,i a decree to bring in all the wise men
 of ,babylon          before me1 that   
they might make known to me the         
interpretation          of the dream4   
#jjd3jjg ,then came in the magicians1   
the enchanters1 the ,chaldeans1         
and the soothsayers2 and ,i told the    
dream before them2          but they did
 not make known to me the interpretation
 of it4  #jjd3jjh ,but at the last      
,daniel came in before me1 whose name   
was ,belteshazzar1          according to
 the name of my god1 and in whom is the 
spirit          of the holy gods3  and  
,i told the dream before him1 saying1   
#jjd3jji ,belteshazzar1 master of the   
magicians1 because ,i know          that
 the spirit of the holy gods is in you1 
and no secret          troubles you1    
tell me the visions of my dream that ,i 

have seen1          and the             
interpretation of it4  #jjd3jaj ,thus   
were the visions of my head on my bed3  
,i saw1 and behold1          a tree in  
the midst of the earth2 and the height  
of it was great4  #jjd3jaa ,the tree    
grew1 and was strong1 and the height of 
it reached          to the sky1 and the 
sight of it to the end of all the earth4
  #jjd3jab ,the leaves of it were       
beautiful1 and the fruit of it much1    
and in it was food for all3  the animals
 of the field had shadow          under 
it1 and the birds of the sky lived in   
the branches of it1          and all    
flesh was fed from it4  #jjd3jac ,i saw 
in the visions of my head on my bed1 and
 behold1          a watcher and a holy  
one came down from the sky4  #jjd3jad   
,he cried aloud1 and said thus1 ,hew    
down the tree1 and cut off          its 
branches1 shake off its leaves1 and     
scatter its fruit3          let the     
animals get away from under it1 and the 
fowls          from its branches4       

#jjd3jae ,nevertheless leave the stump  
of its roots in the earth1          even
 with a band of iron and brass1 in the  
tender grass          of the field2 and 
let it be wet with the dew of the sky3  
and let his portion be with the animals 
in the grass          of the earth3     
#jjd3jaf let his heart be changed from  
man's1 and let an animal's heart        
be given to him2 and let seven times    
pass over him4  #jjd3jag ,the sentence  
is by the decree of the watchers1 and   
the demand          by the word of the  
holy ones2 to the intent that the living
          may know that the ,most ,high 
rules in the kingdom of men1            
and gives it to whoever he will1 and    
sets up over it          the lowest of  
men4  #jjd3jah ,this dream ,i1 king     
,nebuchadnezzar1 have seen2 and you1    
,belteshazzar1          declare the     
interpretation1 because all the wise men
 of my          kingdom are not able to 
make known to me the interpretation2    
but you are able2 for the spirit of the 

holy gods is in you4  #jjd3jai ,then    
,daniel1 whose name was ,belteshazzar1  
was stricken          mute for a while1 
and his thoughts troubled him4          
,the king answered1 ,belteshazzar1 don't
 let the dream1          or the         
interpretation1 trouble you4            
,belteshazzar answered1          ,my    
lord1 the dream be to those who hate    
you1 and the interpretation          of 
it to your adversaries4  #jjd3jbj ,the  
tree that you saw1 which grew1 and was  
strong1 whose height          reached to
 the sky1 and the sight of it to all the
 earth2  #jjd3jba whose leaves were     
beautiful1 and the fruit of it much1 and
 in it          was food for all2 under 
which the animals of the field lived1   
and on whose branches the birds of the  
sky had their habitation3  #jjd3jbb it  
is you1 ,o king1 that are grown and     
become strong2          for your        
greatness is grown1 and reaches to the  
sky1          and your dominion to the  
end of the earth4  #jjd3jbc ,whereas the

 king saw a watcher and a holy one      
coming down          from the sky1 and  
saying1 ,hew down the tree1 and destroy 
it2          nevertheless leave the     
stump of the roots of it in the earth1  
even with a band of iron and brass1 in  
the tender grass          of the field1 
and let it be wet with the dew of the   
sky3          and let his portion be    
with the animals of the field1          
until seven times pass over him2        
#jjd3jbd this is the interpretation1 ,o 
king1 and it is the decree          of  
the ,most ,high1 which is come on my    
lord the king3  #jjd3jbe that you shall 
be driven from men1 and your dwelling   
shall          be with the animals of   
the field1 and you shall be made to eat 
grass as oxen1 and shall be wet with the
 dew of the sky1          and seven     
times shall pass over you2 until you    
know that          the ,most ,high rules
 in the kingdom of men1 and gives it    
to whoever he will4  #jjd3jbf ,whereas  
they commanded to leave the stump of the

 roots of the tree2          your       
kingdom shall be sure to you1 after that
 you shall          have known that the

by showing mercy to the poor2 if there  
may be a lengthening          of your

 the king ,nebuchadnezzar4  #jjd3jbi ,at
 the end of twelve months he was walking
 in the royal          palace of        
,babylon4  #jjd3jcj ,the king spoke and 
said1 ,is not this great ,babylon1 which
 ,i          have built for the royal   
dwelling place1 by the might of my      
power and for the glory of my majesty8  
#jjd3jca ,while the word was in the     
king's mouth1 there fell a voice from   
the sky1 saying1 ,o king                
,nebuchadnezzar1 to you it is spoken3   
,the kingdom is departed from you3      
#jjd3jcb and you shall be driven from   
men2 and they dwelling shall          be

 with the animals of the field2 you     
shall be made to eat          grass as  
oxen2 and seven times shall pass over   
you2          until you know that the   
,most ,high rules in the kingdom of men1
          and gives it to whoever he    
will4  #jjd3jcc ,the same hour was the  
thing fulfilled on ,nebuchadnezzar3     
and he was driven from men1 and ate     
grass as oxen1 and his body          was
 wet with the dew of the sky1 until his 
hair was grown          like eagles'    
feathers1 and his nails like birds'     
claws4  #jjd3jcd ,at the end of the days
 ,i1 ,nebuchadnezzar1 lifted up my eyes 
to heaven1 and my understanding returned
 to me1 and ,i blessed          the     
,most ,high1 and ,i praised and honored 
him who lives forever2          for his 
dominion is an everlasting dominion1 and
 his kingdom          from generation to
 generation4  #jjd3jce ,all the         
inhabitants of the earth are reputed as 
nothing2          and he does according 
to his will in the army of heaven1      

and among the inhabitants of the earth2 
and none can stay          his hand1 or 
tell him1 ,what do you8  #jjd3jcf ,at   
the same time my understanding returned 
to me2          and for the glory of my 
kingdom1 my majesty and brightness      
returned to me2 and my counselors and my
 lords sought to me2          and ,i was
 established in my kingdom1 and         
excellent greatness          was added  
to me4  #jjd3jcg ,now ,i1               
,nebuchadnezzar1 praise and extol and   
honor the ,king          of heaven2 for 
all his works are truth1 and his ways   
justice2          and those who walk in 
pride he is able to abase4  #jje3jja    
,belshazzar the king made a great feast 
to a thousand of his lords1          and
 drank wine before the thousand4        
#jje3jjb ,belshazzar1 while he tasted   
the wine1 commanded to bring            
the golden and silver vessels which     
,nebuchadnezzar his          father had 
taken out of the temple which was in    
,jerusalem2          that the king and  

his lords1 his wives and his concubines1
          might drink from them4        
#jje3jjc ,then they brought the golden  
vessels that were taken out          of 
the temple of the house of ,god which   
was at ,jerusalem2          and the king
 and his lords1 his wives and his       
concubines1          drank from them4   
#jje3jjd ,they drank wine1 and praised  
the gods of gold1 and of silver1        
of brass1 of iron1 of wood1 and of      
stone4  #jje3jje ,in the same hour came 
forth the fingers of a man's hand1      
and wrote over against the lampstand on 
the plaster of          the wall of the 
king's palace3  and the king saw the    
part          of the hand that wrote4

changed in him1 and his thoughts        
troubled him2 and the joints of his     
thighs were loosened1          and his

and said to the wise          men of

writing1 and show          me the

with purple1          and have a chain  
of gold about his neck1 and shall be the
 third          ruler in the kingdom4

wise men2 but they could not read       
the writing1 nor make known to the king

king ,belshazzar greatly troubled1 and

,now the queen by reason of the words of
 the king and his          lords came   
into the banquet house3  the queen spoke
 and said1          ,o king1 live       
forever2 don't let your thoughts trouble
 you1          nor let your face be

your kingdom1 in whom is the spirit     
of the holy gods2 and in the days of    
your father light          and          
understanding and wisdom1 like the      

wisdom of the gods1          were found 
in him2 and the king ,nebuchadnezzar

your father1 made him master of the     
magicians1          enchanters1         
,chaldeans1 and soothsayers2  #jje3jab  
because an excellent spirit1 and        
knowledge1 and understanding1           
interpreting of dreams1 and showing of  
dark sentences1          and dissolving 
of doubts1 were found in the same       
,daniel1          whom the king named   
,belteshazzar4  ,now let ,daniel be     
called1          and he will show the   
interpretation4  #jje3jac ,then was     
,daniel brought in before the king4     
,the king spoke          and said to    
,daniel1 ,are you that ,daniel1 who are 
of the children          of the         
captivity of ,judah1 whom the king my   
father brought          out of ,judah8  
#jje3jad ,i have heard of you1 that the 
spirit of the gods is in you1           
and that light and understanding and    
excellent wisdom are          found in  

you4  #jje3jae ,now the wise men1 the   
enchanters1 have been brought in before 
me1          that they should read this 
writing1 and make known to me the       
interpretation of it2 but they could not
 show the interpretation          of the
 thing4  #jje3jaf ,but ,i have heard of 
you1 that you can give interpretations1 
and dissolve doubts2 now if you can read
 the writing1          and make known to
 me the interpretation of it1 you shall 
be          clothed with purple1 and    
have a chain of gold about your neck1   
and shall be the third ruler in the

answered before the king1 ,let your     
gifts be to yourself1          and give 
your rewards to another2 nevertheless ,i
 will read          the writing to the  
king1 and make known to him the         
interpretation4  #jje3jah ,you king1 the
 ,most ,high ,god gave ,nebuchadnezzar  
your father          the kingdom1 and   
greatness1 and glory1 and majesty3

that he gave him1 all the peoples1      
nations1 and languages trembled and     
feared before him3          whom he     
would he killed1 and whom he would he   
kept alive2          and whom he would  
he raised up1 and whom he would he put

lifted up1 and his spirit was hardened  
so that he dealt proudly1 he was deposed
 from his kingly throne1          and   
they took his glory from him3  #jje3jba 
and he was driven from the sons of men1 
and his heart was made          like the
 animals'1 and his dwelling was with the
 wild donkeys2          he was fed with 
grass like oxen1 and his body was wet   
with          the dew of the sky2 until 
he knew that the ,most ,high ,god       
rules in the kingdom of men1 and that he
 sets up over it          whoever he

,belshazzar1 have not humbled your      
heart1          though you knew all     
this1  #jje3jbc but have lifted up      
yourself against the ,lord of heaven2   

and they have brought the vessels of his
 house before you1          and you and 
your lords1 your wives and your         
concubines1          have drunk wine    
from them2 and you have praised the gods
 of silver          and gold1 of brass1 
iron1 wood1 and stone1 which don't see1 
nor hear1 nor know2 and the ,god in     
whose hand your breath is1          and 
whose are all your ways1 you have not

of the hand sent from before him1 and   
this          writing was inscribed4

interpretation of the thing3  ,,mene2   
,god has numbered          your kingdom1

,,tekel2 you are weighed in the         
balances1 and are found wanting4

divided1 and given to the ,medes and    
,persians4  #jje3jbi ,then commanded    
,belshazzar1 and they clothed ,daniel   

with purple1          and put a chain of
 gold about his neck1 and made          
proclamation          concerning him1   
that he should be the third ruler in the
 kingdom4  #jje3jcj ,in that night      
,belshazzar the ,chaldean ,king was     
slain4  #jje3jca ,darius the ,mede      
received the kingdom1 being about       
sixty-two years old4  #jjf3jja ,it      
pleased ,darius to set over the kingdom 
one hundred twenty satraps1          who
 should be throughout the whole kingdom2
  #jjf3jjb and over them three          
presidents1 of whom ,daniel was one2    
that these satraps might give account to
 them1 and that the king          should
 have no damage4  #jjf3jjc ,then this   
,daniel was distinguished above the     
presidents          and the satraps1    
because an excellent spirit was in him2 
and the king thought to set him over the
 whole realm4  #jjf3jjd ,then the       
presidents and the satraps sought to    
find occasion          against ,daniel  
as touching the kingdom2 but they could 

find          no occasion nor fault1    
because he was faithful1 neither was    
there any error or fault found in him4

 not find any occasion against          
this ,daniel1 except we find it against 
him concerning the law          of his  
,god4  #jjf3jjf ,then these presidents  
and satraps assembled together to the   
king1          and said thus to him1    
,king ,darius1 live forever4  #jjf3jjg  
,all the presidents of the kingdom1 the 
deputies and the satraps1          the  
counselors and the governors1 have      
consulted together          to establish
 a royal statute1 and to make a strong  
interdict1          that whoever shall  
ask a petition of any god or man for    
thirty days1          save of you1 ,o   
king1 he shall be cast into the den of  
lions4  #jjf3jjh ,now1 ,o king1         
establish the interdict1 and sign the   
writing1          that it not be        
changed1 according to the law of the    
,medes          and ,persians1 which

 ,darius signed the writing and the

that the writing was signed1 he went    
into his house          7now his windows
 were open in his chamber toward

          and gave thanks before his

these men assembled together1 and found 
,daniel making          petition and    
supplication before his ,god4  #jjf3jab 
,then they came near1 and spoke before  
the king concerning          the king's 
interdict3  ,haven't you signed an      
interdict1 that every          man who  
shall make petition to any god or man   
within thirty days1          save to    
you1 ,o king1 shall be cast into the den
 of lions8          ,the king answered1 
,the thing is true1 according to the law
          of the ,medes and ,persians1  
which doesn't alter4  #jjf3jac ,then    
answered they and said before the king1 

,that ,daniel1 who is          of the   
children of the captivity of ,judah1    
doesn't regard you1          ,o king1   
nor the interdict that you have signed1 
but makes          his petition three   
times a day4  #jjf3jad ,then the king1  
when he heard these words1 was sore     
displeased1          and set his heart  
on ,daniel to deliver him2 and he       
labored          until the going down of
 the sun to rescue him4  #jjf3jae ,then 
these men assembled together to the     
king1 and said          to the king1    
,know1 ,o king1 that it is a law of the 
,medes          and ,persians1 that no  
interdict nor statute which the king    
establishes may be changed4  #jjf3jaf   
,then the king commanded1 and they      
brought ,daniel1          and cast him  
into the den of lions4  ,now the king   
spoke          and said to ,daniel1     
,your ,god whom you serve continually1  
he will deliver you4  #jjf3jag ,a stone 
was brought1 and laid on the mouth of   
the den2          and the king sealed it

 with his own signet1 and with the      
signet          of his lords2 that      
nothing might be changed concerning     
,daniel4  #jjf3jah ,then the king went  
to his palace1 and passed the night     
fasting2          neither were          
instruments of music brought before him3
          and his sleep fled from him4  
#jjf3jai ,then the king arose very early
 in the morning1 and went in haste      
to the den of lions4  #jjf3jbj ,when he 
came near to the den to ,daniel1 he     
cried with a          lamentable voice2 
the king spoke and said to ,daniel1     
,daniel1          servant of the living 
,god1 is your ,god1 whom you serve      
continually1          able to deliver   
you from the lions8  #jjf3jba ,then said
 ,daniel to the king1 ,o king1 live     
forever4  #jjf3jbb ,my ,god has sent his
 angel1 and has shut the lions' mouths1 
and they          have not hurt me2     
because as before him innocence was     
found in me2          and also before   
you1 ,o king1 have ,i done no hurt4     

#jjf3jbc ,then was the king exceeding   
glad1 and commanded that they           
should take ,daniel up out of the den4  
,so ,daniel was taken          up out of
 the den1 and no manner of hurt was     
found on him1          because he had   
trusted in his ,god4  #jjf3jbd ,the king
 commanded1 and they brought those men  
who had accused ,daniel1          and   
they cast them into the den of lions1   
them1 their children1          and their
 wives2 and the lions had the mastery of
 them1          and broke all their     
bones in pieces1 before they came       
to the bottom of the den4  #jjf3jbe     
,then king ,darius wrote to all the     
peoples1 nations1 and languages1        
who dwell in all the earth3  ,peace be  
multiplied to you4  #jjf3jbf ,i make a  
decree1 that in all the dominion of my  
kingdom men tremble          and fear   
before the ,god of ,daniel2 for he is   
the living ,god1          and steadfast 
forever1 ,his kingdom that which shall  
not be destroyed2          and his      

dominion shall be even to the end4      
#jjf3jbg ,he delivers and rescues1 and  
he works signs and wonders in           
heaven and in earth1 who has delivered  
,daniel from the power          of the  
lions4  #jjf3jbh ,so this ,daniel       
prospered in the reign of ,darius1 and  
in the reign          of ,cyrus the     
,persian4  #jjg3jja ,in the first year  
of ,belshazzar king of ,babylon ,daniel 
had a dream and visions of his head on  
his bed3          then he wrote the     
dream and told the sum of the matters4  
#jjg3jjb ,daniel spoke and said1 ,i saw 
in my vision by night1 and1 behold1     
the four winds of the sky broke forth on
 the great sea4  #jjg3jjc ,four great   
animals came up from the sea1 diverse   
one from another4  #jjg3jjd ,the first  
was like a lion1 and had eagle's wings3 
,i saw until the wings of it were       
plucked1 and it was lifted          up  
from the earth1 and made to stand on two
 feet as a man2          and a man's    
heart was given to it4  #jjg3jje        

,behold1 another animal1 a second1 like 
a bear2 and it was raised up          on
 one side1 and three ribs were in its   
mouth between its teeth3          and   
they said thus to it1 ,arise1 devour    
much flesh4  #jjg3jjf ,after this ,i    
saw1 and behold1 another1 like a        
leopard1 which had          on its back 
four wings of a bird2 the animal had    
also four heads2          and dominion  
was given to it4  #jjg3jjg ,after this  
,i saw in the night visions1 and1       
behold1 a fourth          animal1       
awesome and powerful1 and strong        
exceedingly2          and it had great  
iron teeth2 it devoured and broke       
in pieces1 and stamped the residue with 
its feet3          and it was diverse   
from all the animals that were before   
it2          and it had ten horns4      
#jjg3jjh ,i considered the horns1 and   
behold1 there came up among             
them another horn1 a little one1 before 
which three          of the first horns 
were plucked up by the roots3           

and behold1 in this horn were eyes like 
the eyes of a man1          and a mouth 
speaking great things4  #jjg3jji ,i saw 
until thrones were placed1 and one who  
was ancient of days sat3          his   
clothing was white as snow1 and the hair
 of his head          like pure wool2   
his throne was fiery flames1 and the    
wheels          of it burning fire4     
#jjg3jaj ,a fiery stream issued and came
 forth from before him3                 
thousands of thousands ministered to    
him1 and ten thousand          times ten
 thousand stood before him3  the        
judgment was set1          and the books
 were opened4  #jjg3jaa ,i saw at that  
time because of the voice of the great  
words          which the horn spoke2 ,i 
saw even until the animal was slain1    
and its body destroyed1 and it was given
 to be burned with fire4  #jjg3jab ,as  
for the rest of the animals1 their      
dominion was taken away3          yet   
their lives were prolonged for a season 
and a time4  #jjg3jac ,i saw in the     

night visions1 and behold1 there came   
with the clouds          of the sky one 
like a son of man1 and he came even to  
the ancient          of days1 and they  
brought him near before him4  #jjg3jad  
,there was given him dominion1 and      
glory1 and a kingdom1          that all 
the peoples1 nations1 and languages     
should serve him3          his dominion 
is an everlasting dominion1 which shall 
not pass away1          and his kingdom 
that which shall not be destroyed4      
#jjg3jae ,as for me1 ,daniel1 my spirit 
was grieved in the midst of my body1    
and the visions of my head troubled me4 
#jjg3jaf ,i came near to one of those   
who stood by1 and asked him          the
 truth concerning all this4  ,so he told
 me1 and made me          know the      
interpretation of the things4  #jjg3jag 
,these great animals1 which are four1   
are four kings1 who shall          arise
 out of the earth4  #jjg3jah ,but the   
saints of the ,most ,high shall receive 
the kingdom1          and possess the   

kingdom forever1 even forever and ever4 
#jjg3jai ,then ,i desired to know the   
truth concerning the fourth animal1     
which was diverse from all of them1     
exceedingly terrible1          whose    
teeth were of iron1 and its nails of    
brass2 which devoured1          broke in
 pieces1 and stamped the residue with   
its feet2  #jjg3jbj and concerning the  
ten horns that were on its head1        
and the other horn which came up1 and   
before which three fell1          even  
that horn that had eyes1 and a mouth    
that spoke great things1          whose 
look was more stout than its fellows4   
#jjg3jba ,i saw1 and the same horn made 
war with the saints1          and       
prevailed against them2  #jjg3jbb until 
the ancient of days came1 and judgment  
was given to          the saints of the 
,most ,high1 and the time came that the 
saints          possessed the kingdom4  
#jjg3jbc ,thus he said1 ,the fourth     
animal shall be a fourth kingdom        
on earth1 which shall be diverse from   

all the kingdoms1          and shall    
devour the whole earth1 and shall tread 
it down1          and break it in       
pieces4  #jjg3jbd ,as for the ten horns1
 out of this kingdom shall ten kings    
arise3          and another shall arise 
after them2 and he shall be diverse     
from the former1 and he shall put down  
three kings4  #jjg3jbe ,he shall speak  
words against the ,most ,high1 and shall
 wear          out the saints of the    
,most ,high2 and he shall think to      
change          the times and the law2  
and they shall be given into his hand   
until a time and times and half a time4 
#jjg3jbf ,but the judgment shall be set1
 and they shall take away          his  
dominion1 to consume and to destroy it  
to the end4  #jjg3jbg ,the kingdom and  
the dominion1 and the greatness of the  
kingdoms          under the whole sky1  
shall be given to the people of the     
saints          of the ,most ,high3  his
 kingdom is an everlasting kingdom1     
and all dominions shall serve and obey

matter4  ,as for me1 ,daniel1 my        
thoughts          much troubled me1 and 
my face was changed in me3          but 
,i kept the matter in my heart4         
#jjh3jja ,in the third year of the reign
 of king ,belshazzar a vision           
appeared to me1 even to me1 ,daniel1    
after that which appeared          to me
 at the first4  #jjh3jjb ,i saw in the  
vision2 now it was so1 that when ,i saw1
 ,i was          in the citadel of      
,susa1 which is in the province of      
,elam2          and ,i saw in the       
vision1 and ,i was by the river ,ulai4  
#jjh3jjc ,then ,i lifted up my eyes1 and
 saw1 and behold1          there stood  
before the river a ram which had two    
horns3          and the two horns were  
high2 but one was higher than the other1
          and the higher came up last4  
#jjh3jjd ,i saw the ram pushing         
westward1 and northward1 and southward2 
and no animals could stand before him1  
neither was there          any who could

 deliver out of his hand2 but he did    
according          to his will1 and     
magnified himself4  #jjh3jje ,as ,i was 
considering1 behold1 a male goat came   
from the west over          the surface 
of the whole earth1 and didn't touch the
 ground3          and the goat had a    
notable horn between his eyes4  #jjh3jjf
 ,he came to the ram that had the two   
horns1 which ,i saw standing            
before the river1 and ran on him in the 
fury of his power4  #jjh3jjg ,i saw him 
come close to the ram1 and he was moved 
with anger          against him1 and    
struck the ram1 and broke his two horns2
          and there was no power in the 
ram to stand before him2          but he
 cast him down to the ground1 and       
trampled on him2          and there was 
none who could deliver the ram out of   
his hand4  #jjh3jjh ,the male goat      
magnified himself exceedingly3  and when
 he was strong1          the great horn 
was broken2 and instead of it there came
 up          four notable horns toward  

the four winds of the sky4  #jjh3jji    
,out of one of them came forth a little 
horn1 which grew          exceeding     
great1 toward the south1 and toward the 
east1          and toward the glorious  
land4  #jjh3jaj ,it grew great1 even to 
the army of the sky2 and some           
of the army and of the stars it cast    
down to the ground1          and        
trampled on them4  #jjh3jaa ,yes1 it    
magnified itself1 even to the prince of 
the army2          and it took away from
 him the continual burnt offering1      
and the place of his sanctuary was cast 
down4  #jjh3jab ,the army was given over
 to it together with the continual      
burnt offering through disobedience2 and
 it cast down truth          to the     
ground1 and it did its pleasure and     
prospered4  #jjh3jac ,then ,i heard a   
holy one speaking2 and another holy one 
said          to that certain one who   
spoke1 ,how long shall be the vision    
concerning the continual burnt offering1
 and the disobedience          that     

makes desolate1 to give both the        
sanctuary and the army          to be   
trodden under foot8  #jjh3jad ,he said  
to me1 ,to two thousand and three       
hundred evenings          and mornings2 
then shall the sanctuary be cleansed4   
#jjh3jae ,it happened1 when ,i1 even ,i 
,daniel1 had seen the vision1           
that ,i sought to understand it2 and    
behold1 there stood          before me  
as the appearance of a man4  #jjh3jaf ,i
 heard a man's voice between the banks  
of the ,ulai1 which called1          and
 said1 ,gabriel1 make this man to       
understand the vision4  #jjh3jag ,so he 
came near where ,i stood2 and when he   
came1 ,i was frightened1          and   
fell on my face3  but he said to me1    
,understand1 son of man2          for   
the vision belongs to the time of the   
end4  #jjh3jah ,now as he was speaking  
with me1 ,i fell into a deep sleep with 
my          face toward the ground2 but 
he touched me1 and set me upright4      
#jjh3jai ,he said1 ,behold1 ,i will make

 you know what shall be in the latter   
time of the indignation2 for it belongs 
to the appointed time          of the   
end4  #jjh3jbj ,the ram which you saw1  
that had the two horns1 they are the    
kings          of ,media and ,persia4   
#jjh3jba ,the rough male goat is the    
king of ,greece3  and the great horn    
that is between his eyes is the first   
king4  #jjh3jbb ,as for that which was  
broken1 in the place where four stood   
up1          four kingdoms shall stand  
up out of the nation1 but not           
with his power4  #jjh3jbc ,in the latter
 time of their kingdom1 when the        
transgressors          are come to the  
full1 a king of fierce face1 and        
understanding          dark sentences1  
shall stand up4  #jjh3jbd ,his power    
shall be mighty1 but not by his own     
power2 and he shall          destroy    
wonderfully1 and shall prosper and do   
his pleasure2          and he shall     
destroy the mighty ones and the holy    
people4  #jjh3jbe ,through his policy he

 shall cause craft to prosper in his    
hand2          and he shall magnify     
himself in his heart1 and in their      
security shall he destroy many3  he     
shall also stand up against          the
 prince of princes2 but he shall be     
broken without hand4  #jjh3jbf ,the     
vision of the evenings and mornings     
which has been told is true3            
but seal up the vision2 for it belongs  
to many days to come4  #jjh3jbg ,i1     
,daniel1 fainted1 and was sick certain  
days2 then ,i rose up1          and did 
the king's business3  and ,i wondered at
 the vision1          but none          
understood it4  #jji3jja ,in the first  
year of ,darius the son of ,ahasuerus1  
of the seed          of the ,medes1 who 
was made king over the realm of the     
,chaldeans1  #jji3jjb in the first year 
of his reign ,i1 ,daniel1 understood by 
the books          the number of the    
years about which the word of ,yahweh   
came          to ,jeremiah the prophet1 
for the accomplishing of the desolations

          of ,jerusalem1 even seventy   
years4  #jji3jjc ,i set my face to the  
,lord ,god1 to seek by prayer and       
petitions1          with fasting and    
sackcloth and ashes4  #jji3jjd ,i prayed
 to ,yahweh my ,god1 and made           
confession1 and said1 ,oh1 ,lord1       
the great and dreadful ,god1 who keeps  
covenant and loving          kindness   
with those who love him and keep his    
commandments1  #jji3jje we have sinned1 
and have dealt perversely1 and have done
 wickedly1          and have rebelled1  
even turning aside from your precepts   
and from your ordinances2  #jji3jjf     
neither have we listened to your        
servants the prophets1          who     
spoke in your name to our kings1 our    
princes1 and our fathers1          and  
to all the people of the land4  #jji3jjg
 ,lord1 righteousness belongs to you1   
but to us confusion of face1          as
 at this day2 to the men of ,judah1 and 
to the inhabitants          of          
,jerusalem1 and to all ,israel1 who are 

near1 and who are          far off1     
through all the countries where you have
 driven them1          because of their 
trespass that they have trespassed      
against you4  #jji3jjh ,lord1 to us     
belongs confusion of face1 to our kings1
 to our princes1          and to our    
fathers1 because we have sinned against 
you4  #jji3jji ,to the ,lord our ,god   
belong mercies and forgiveness2 for we  
have rebelled against him2  #jji3jaj    
neither have we obeyed the voice of     
,yahweh our ,god1 to walk          in   
his laws1 which he set before us by his 
servants the prophets4  #jji3jaa ,yes1  
all ,israel have transgressed your law1 
even turning aside1          that they  
should not obey your voice3  therefore  
has the curse          been poured out  
on us1 and the oath that is written in  
the law          of ,moses the servant  
of ,god2 for we have sinned against him4
  #jji3jab ,he has confirmed his words1 
which he spoke against us1          and 
against our judges who judged us1 by    

bringing on us          a great evil2   
for under the whole sky has not been    
done as has          been done on       
,jerusalem4  #jji3jac ,as it is written 
in the law of ,moses1 all this evil is  
come on us3          yet have we not    
entreated the favor of ,yahweh our ,god1
          that we should turn from our  
iniquities1 and have discernment        
in your truth4  #jji3jad ,therefore has 
,yahweh watched over the evil1 and      
brought it on us2          for ,yahweh  
our ,god is righteous in all his works  
which he does1          and we have not 
obeyed his voice4  #jji3jae ,now1 ,lord 
our ,god1 who has brought your people   
forth out of          the land of ,egypt
 with a mighty hand1 and have gotten you
 renown1          as at this day2 we    
have sinned1 we have done wickedly4     
#jji3jaf ,lord1 according to all your   
righteousness1 let your anger and       
please let your wrath be turned away    
from your city ,jerusalem1          your
 holy mountain2 because for our sins1   

and for the iniquities          of our  
fathers1 ,jerusalem and your people are 
become a reproach          to all who   
are round about us4  #jji3jag ,now      
therefore1 our ,god1 listen to the      
prayer of your servant1          and to 
his petitions1 and cause your face to   
shine on your          sanctuary that is
 desolate1 for the ,lord's sake4        
#jji3jah ,my ,god1 turn your ear1 and   
hear2 open your eyes1 and see           
our desolations1 and the city which is  
called by your name3          for we do 
not present our petitions before you for
 our righteousness1          but for    
your great mercies' sake4  #jji3jai     
,lord1 hear2 ,lord1 forgive2 ,lord1     
listen and do2 don't defer1          for
 your own sake1 my ,god1 because your   
city and your people          are called
 by your name4  #jji3jbj ,while ,i was  
speaking1 and praying1 and confessing my
 sin and          the sin of my people  
,israel1 and presenting my supplication 
before ,yahweh my ,god for the holy     

mountain of my ,god2  #jji3jba yes1     
while ,i was speaking in prayer1 the man
 ,gabriel1 whom ,i had          seen in 
the vision at the beginning1 being      
caused to fly swiftly1          touched 
me about the time of the evening        
offering4  #jji3jbb ,he instructed me1  
and talked with me1 and said1 ,daniel1  
,i am          now come forth to give   
you wisdom and understanding4  #jji3jbc 
,at the beginning of your petitions the 
commandment went forth1          and ,i 
am come to tell you2 for you are greatly
 beloved3          therefore consider   
the matter1 and understand the vision4  
#jji3jbd ,seventy weeks are decreed on  
your people and on your holy city1      
to finish disobedience1 and to make an  
end of sins1          and to make       
reconciliation for iniquity1 and to     
bring in          everlasting           
righteousness1 and to seal up vision and
 prophecy1          and to anoint the   
most holy4  #jji3jbe ,know therefore and
 discern1 that from the going forth     

of the commandment to restore and to    
build ,jerusalem to the                 
,anointed ,one1,anointed ,one can also  
be translated ,messiah          7same as
 ,christ74 the prince1 shall be seven   
weeks1          and sixty-two weeks3  it
 shall be built again1 with street      
and moat1 even in troubled times4       
#jji3jbf ,after the sixty-two weeks the 
,anointed ,one,anointed ,one            
can also be translated ,messiah 7same as
 ,christ74 shall be          cut off1   
and shall have nothing3  and the people 
of the prince          who shall come   
shall destroy the city and the          
sanctuary2          and the end of it   
shall be with a flood1 and even to the  
end          shall be war2 desolations  
are determined4  #jji3jbg ,he shall make
 a firm covenant with many for one week3
          and in the midst of the week  
he shall cause the sacrifice            
and the offering to cease2 and on the   
wing of abominations          shall come
 one who makes desolate2 and even to the

 full end1          and that determined1
 shall wrath be poured out on the       
desolate4  #jaj3jja ,in the third year  
of ,cyrus king of ,persia a thing was   
revealed          to ,daniel1 whose name
 was called ,belteshazzar2 and the thing
          was true1 even a great        
warfare3  and he understood the thing1  
and had understanding of the vision4    
#jaj3jjb ,in those days ,i1 ,daniel1 was
 mourning three whole weeks4  #jaj3jjc  
,i ate no pleasant bread1 neither came  
flesh nor wine into my mouth1           
neither did ,i anoint myself at all1    
until three whole          weeks were   
fulfilled4  #jaj3jjd ,in the four and   
twentieth day of the first month1 as ,i 
was          by the side of the great   
river1 which is ,hiddekel1  #jaj3jje ,i 
lifted up my eyes1 and looked1 and      
behold1 a man clothed          in linen1
 whose thighs were girded with pure gold
 of ,uphaz3  #jaj3jjf his body also was 
like the beryl1 and his face as the     
appearance          of lightning1 and   

his eyes as flaming torches1 and his    
arms          and his feet like         
burnished brass1 and the voice of his   
words          like the voice of a      
multitude4  #jaj3jjg ,i1 ,daniel1 alone 
saw the vision2 for the men who were    
with me          didn't see the vision2 
but a great quaking fell on them1       
and they fled to hide themselves4       
#jaj3jjh ,so ,i was left alone1 and saw 
this great vision1 and there            
remained no strength in me2 for my      
comeliness was turned          in me    
into corruption1 and ,i retained no     
strength4  #jaj3jji ,yet heard ,i the   
voice of his words2 and when ,i heard   
the voice          of his words1 then   
was ,i fallen into a deep sleep on my   
face1          with my face toward the  
ground4  #jaj3jaj ,behold1 a hand       
touched me1 which set me on my knees and
 on          the palms of my hands4     
#jaj3jaa ,he said to me1 ,daniel1 you   
man greatly beloved1 understand the     
words          that ,i speak to you1 and

 stand upright2 for to you am ,i now    
sent4          ,when he had spoken this 
word to me1 ,i stood trembling4         
#jaj3jab ,then said he to me1 ,don't be 
afraid1 ,daniel2 for from          the  
first day that you did set your heart to
 understand1          and to humble     
yourself before your ,god1 your words   
were heard3          and ,i am come for 
your words' sake4  #jaj3jac ,but the    
prince of the kingdom of ,persia        
withstood me twenty-one days2           
but1 behold1 ,michael1 one of the chief 
princes1 came to help me3          and  
,i remained there with the kings of     
,persia4  #jaj3jad ,now ,i have come to 
make you understand what shall happen   
to your people in the latter days2 for  
the vision is yet          for many     
days3  #jaj3jae and when he had spoken  
to me according to these words1         
,i set my face toward the ground1 and   
was mute4  #jaj3jaf ,behold1 one in the 
likeness of the sons of men touched my  
lips3          then ,i opened my mouth1 

and spoke and said to him who stood     
before me1 my lord1 by reason of the    
vision my sorrows are          turned on
 me1 and ,i retain no strength4         
#jaj3jag ,for how can the servant of    
this my lord talk with this my lord8    
for as for me1 immediately there        
remained no strength in me1             
neither was there breath left in me4    
#jaj3jah ,then there touched me again   
one like the appearance of a man1       
and he strengthened me4  #jaj3jai ,he   
said1 ,greatly beloved man1 don't be    
afraid3          peace be to you1 be    
strong1 yes1 be strong4  ,when he spoke 
to me1 ,i was strengthened1 and said1   
,let my lord speak2          for you    
have strengthened me4  #jaj3jbj ,then he
 said1 ,do you know why ,i have come to 
you8          ,now ,i will return to    
fight with the prince of ,persia4       
,when ,i go forth1 behold1 the prince of
 ,greece shall come4  #jaj3jba ,but ,i  
will tell you that which is inscribed in
 the writing          of truth3  and    

there is none who holds with me against 
these1          but ,michael your       
prince4  #jaa3jja ,as for me1 in the    
first year of ,darius the ,mede1 ,i     
stood up          to confirm and        
strengthen him4  #jaa3jjb ,now will ,i  
show you the truth4  ,behold1 there     
shall stand up          yet three kings 
in ,persia2 and the fourth shall be far 
richer          than they all3  and when
 he has grown strong through his riches1
          he shall stir up all against  
the realm of ,greece4  #jaa3jjc ,a      
mighty king shall stand up1 who shall   
rule with great dominion1          and  
do according to his will4  #jaa3jjd     
,when he shall stand up1 his kingdom    
shall be broken1          and shall be  
divided toward the four winds of the    
sky1          but not to his posterity1 
nor according to his dominion           
with which he ruled2 for his kingdom    
shall be plucked up1          even for  
others besides these4  #jaa3jje ,the    
king of the south shall be strong1 and  

one of his princes2          and he     
shall be strong above him1 and have     
dominion2          his dominion shall be
 a great dominion4  #jaa3jjf ,at the end
 of years they shall join themselves    
together2          and the daughter of  
the king of the south shall come to the 
king          of the north to make an   
agreement3  but she shall not retain    
the strength of her arm2 neither shall  
he stand1 nor his arm2          but she 
shall be given up1 and those who brought
 her1          and he who became the    
father of her1 and he who strengthened  
her in those times4  #jaa3jjg ,but out  
of a shoot from her roots shall one     
stand up in his place1          who     
shall come to the army1 and shall enter 
into the fortress          of the king  
of the north1 and shall deal against    
them1          and shall prevail4       
#jaa3jjh ,also their gods1 with their   
molten images1 and with their goodly    
vessels of silver and of gold1 shall he 
carry captive into ,egypt2          and 

he shall refrain some years from the    
king of the north4  #jaa3jji ,he shall  
come into the realm of the king of the  
south1          but he shall return into
 his own land4  #jaa3jaj ,his sons shall
 war1 and shall assemble a multitude of 
great forces1          which shall come 
on1 and overflow1 and pass through2     
and they shall return and war1 even to  
his fortress4  #jaa3jaa ,the king of the
 south shall be moved with anger1 and   
shall come          forth and fight with
 him1 even with the king of the north2  
and he shall set forth a great          
multitude1 and the multitude            
shall be given into his hand4  #jaa3jab 
,the multitude shall be lifted up1 and  
his heart shall be exalted2          and
 he shall cast down tens of thousands1  
but he shall not prevail4  #jaa3jac ,the
 king of the north shall return1 and    
shall set forth          a multitude    
greater than the former2 and he shall   
come on          at the end of the      
times1 even of years1 with a great army 

and with much substance4  #jaa3jad ,in  
those times there shall many stand up   
against the king          of the south3 
also the children of the violent among  
your          people shall lift         
themselves up to establish the vision2  
but they shall fall4  #jaa3jae ,so the  
king of the north shall come1 and cast  
up a mound1          and take a         
well-fortified city3  and the forces of 
the south          shall not stand1     
neither his chosen people1 neither shall
          there be any strength to      
stand4  #jaa3jaf ,but he who comes      
against him shall do according to his   
own will1          and none shall stand 
before him2 and he shall stand in       
the glorious land1 and in his hand shall
 be destruction4  #jaa3jag ,he shall set
 his face to come with the strength of  
his whole kingdom1          and with him
 equitable conditions2 and he shall     
perform them3          and he shall give
 him the daughter of women1 to corrupt  
her2          but she shall not stand1  

neither be for him4  #jaa3jah ,after    
this shall he turn his face to the      
islands1 and shall          take many3  
but a prince shall cause the reproach   
offered          by him to cease2 yes1  
moreover1 he shall cause his reproach   
to turn on him4  #jaa3jai ,then he shall
 turn his face toward the fortresses of 
his own land2          but he shall     
stumble and fall1 and shall not be      
found4  #jaa3jbj ,then shall stand up in
 his place one who shall cause a tax    
collector to pass through the kingdom to
 maintain its glory2          but within
 few days he shall be destroyed1 neither
 in anger1          nor in battle4      
#jaa3jba ,in his place shall stand up a 
contemptible person1          to whom   
they had not given the honor of the     
kingdom3          but he shall come in  
time of security1 and shall obtain      
the kingdom by flatteries4  #jaa3jbb    
,the overwhelming forces shall be       
overwhelmed from before him1            
and shall be broken2 yes1 also the      

prince of the covenant4  #jaa3jbc ,after
 the league made with him he shall work 
deceitfully2          for he shall come 
up1 and shall become strong1 with a     
small people4  #jaa3jbd ,in time of     
security shall he come even on the      
fattest places of          the province2
 and he shall do that which his fathers 
have not done1          nor his fathers'
 fathers2 he shall scatter among them   
prey1          and spoil1 and substance3
  yes1 he shall devise his devices      
against the strongholds1 even for a     
time4  #jaa3jbe ,he shall stir up his   
power and his courage against the king  
of the south with a great army2 and the 
king of the south          shall war in 
battle with an exceeding great and      
mighty army2          but he shall not  
stand2 for they shall devise devices    
against him4  #jaa3jbf ,yes1 they who   
eat of his dainties shall destroy him1  
and his          army shall overflow2   
and many shall fall down slain4         
#jaa3jbg ,as for both these kings1 their

 hearts shall be to do mischief1        
and they shall speak lies at one table3 
but it shall not prosper2          for  
yet the end shall be at the time        
appointed4  #jaa3jbh ,then shall he     
return into his land with great         
substance2          and his heart shall 
be against the holy covenant2           
and he shall do his pleasure1 and return
 to his own land4  #jaa3jbi ,at the time
 appointed he shall return1 and come    
into the south2          but it shall   
not be in the latter time as it was in  
the former4  #jaa3jcj ,for ships of     
,kittim shall come against him2         
therefore he shall          be grieved1 
and shall return1 and have indignation  
against the          holy covenant1 and 
shall do his pleasure3 he shall even    
return1          and have regard to     
those who forsake the holy covenant4    
#jaa3jca ,forces shall stand on his     
part1 and they shall profane the        
sanctuary1          even the fortress1  
and shall take away the continual       

burnt offering1 and they shall set up   
the abomination          that makes     
desolate4  #jaa3jcb ,such as do wickedly
 against the covenant shall he pervert  
by flatteries2 but the people who know  
their ,god shall be strong1          and
 do exploits4  #jaa3jcc ,those who are  
wise among the people shall instruct    
many2          yet they shall fall by   
the sword and by flame1 by captivity    
and by spoil1 many days4  #jaa3jcd ,now 
when they shall fall1 they shall be     
helped with a little help2          but 
many shall join themselves to them with 
flatteries4  #jaa3jce ,some of those who
 are wise shall fall1 to refine them1   
and to purify1 and to make them white1  
even to the time of the end2            
because it is yet for the time          
appointed4  #jaa3jcf ,the king shall do 
according to his will2 and he shall     
exalt himself1 and magnify himself above
 every god1          and shall speak    
marvelous things against the ,god of    
gods2          and he shall prosper     

until the indignation be accomplished2  
for that which is determined shall be   
done4  #jaa3jcg ,neither shall he regard
 the gods of his fathers1 nor the       
desire of women1 nor regard any god2 for
 he shall magnify          himself above
 all4  #jaa3jch ,but in his place shall 
he honor the god of fortresses2         
and a god whom his fathers didn't know  
shall he honor with gold1          and  
silver1 and with precious stones1 and   
pleasant things4  #jaa3jci ,he shall    
deal with the strongest fortresses by   
the help of a          foreign god3     
whoever acknowledges him he will        
increase          with glory2 and he    
shall cause them to rule over many1     
and shall divide the land for a price4  
#jaa3jdj ,at the time of the end shall  
the king of the south contend with him2 
and the king of the north shall come    
against him like a whirlwind1           
with chariots1 and with horsemen1 and   
with many ships2          and he shall  
enter into the countries1 and shall     

overflow          and pass through4     
#jaa3jda ,he shall enter also into the  
glorious land1 and many countries       
shall be overthrown2 but these shall be 
delivered out of his hand3              
,edom1 and ,moab1 and the chief of the  
children of ,ammon4  #jaa3jdb ,he shall 
stretch forth his hand also on the      
countries2          and the land of     
,egypt shall not escape4  #jaa3jdc ,but 
he shall have power over the treasures  
of gold and of silver1          and over
 all the precious things of ,egypt2 and 
the ,libyans          and the           
,ethiopians shall be at his steps4      
#jaa3jdd ,but news out of the east and  
out of the north shall trouble him2     
and he shall go forth with great fury to
 destroy and utterly          to sweep  
away many4  #jaa3jde ,he shall plant the
 tents of his palace between the sea and
          the glorious holy mountain2   
yet he shall come to his end1           
and none shall help him4  #jab3jja ,at  
that time shall ,michael stand up1 the  

great prince who stands          for the
 children of your people2 and there     
shall be a time          of trouble1    
such as never was since there was a     
nation even to          that same time3 
and at that time your people shall be   
delivered1          everyone who shall  
be found written in the book4  #jab3jjb 
,many of those who sleep in the dust of 
the earth shall awake1 some to          
everlasting life1 and some to shame and 
everlasting contempt4  #jab3jjc ,those  
who are wise shall shine as the         
brightness of the expanse2          and 
those who turn many to righteousness as 
the stars          forever and ever4    
#jab3jjd ,but you1 ,daniel1 shut up the 
words1 and seal the book1          even 
to the time of the end3  many shall run 
back and forth1          and knowledge  
shall be increased4  #jab3jje ,then ,i1 
,daniel1 looked1 and behold1 there stood
 other two1          the one on the     
brink of the river on this side1 and the
 other          on the brink of the     

river on that side4  #jab3jjf ,one said 
to the man clothed in linen1 who was    
above the waters          of the river1 
,how long shall it be to the end of     
these wonders8  #jab3jjg ,i heard the   
man clothed in linen1 who was above the 
waters          of the river1 when he   
held up his right hand and his left hand
          to heaven1 and swore by him   
who lives forever that it shall         
be for a time1 times1 and a half2 and   
when they have made          an end of  
breaking in pieces the power of the holy
 people1          all these things shall
 be finished4  #jab3jjh ,i heard1 but ,i
 didn't understand3  then said ,i1 my   
lord1          what shall be the issue  
of these things8  #jab3jji ,he said1 ,go
 your way1 ,daniel2 for the words are   
shut up          and sealed until the   
time of the end4  #jab3jaj ,many shall  
purify themselves1 and make themselves  
white1          and be refined2 but the 
wicked shall do wickedly2          and  
none of the wicked shall understand2 but

 those who are          wise shall      
understand4  #jab3jaa ,from the time    
that the continual burnt offering shall 
be          taken away1 and the         
abomination that makes desolate set up1 
there shall be one thousand two hundred 
ninety days4  #jab3jab ,blessed is he   
who waits1 and comes to the one thousand
 three          hundred thirty-five     
days4  #jab3jac ,but go you your way    
until the end be2 for you shall rest1   
and shall stand in your lot1 at the end 
of the days4
