 for the name of ,yahweh1          and a

,solomon counted out seventy thousand   
men to bear burdens1          and eighty

was sixty cubits1 and the breadth twenty

before the house1 the length of it1     
according to the breadth of the house1  
was twenty cubits1          and the     
height one hundred twenty2 and he       
overlaid it within          with pure   
gold4  #jjc3jje ,the greater house he   
made a ceiling with fir wood1           
which he overlaid with fine gold1 and   
ornamented it with palm          trees  
and chains4  #jjc3jjf ,he garnished the 
house with precious stones for beauty3  
and the gold was gold of ,parvaim4      
#jjc3jjg ,he overlaid also the house1   
the beams1 the thresholds1          and 
the walls of it1 and the doors of it1   
with gold2          and engraved        
cherubim on the walls4  #jjc3jjh ,he    

made the most holy house3  the length of
 it1 according to          the breadth  
of the house1 was twenty cubits1 and the
 breadth          of it twenty cubits2  
and he overlaid it with fine gold1      
amounting to six hundred talents4       
#jjc3jji ,the weight of the nails was   
fifty shekels of gold4          ,he     
overlaid the upper chambers with gold4  
#jjc3jaj ,in the most holy house he made
 two cherubim of image work2            
and they overlaid them with gold4       
#jjc3jaa ,the wings of the cherubim were
 twenty cubits long3          the wing  
of the one cherub was five cubits1      
reaching to the wall          of the    
house2 and the other wing was likewise  
five cubits1          reaching to the   
wing of the other cherub4  #jjc3jab ,the
 wing of the other cherub was five      
cubits1 reaching to the wall          of
 the house2 and the other wing was five 
cubits also1          joining to the    
wing of the other cherub4  #jjc3jac ,the
 wings of these cherubim spread         

themselves forth twenty cubits3         
and they stood on their feet1 and their 
faces were          toward the house4   
#jjc3jad ,he made the veil of blue1 and 
purple1 and crimson1 and fine linen1    
and ornamented it with cherubim4

two pillars of thirty-five              
cubits high1 and the capital that was on
 the top of each          of them was

in the oracle1 and put them on the tops 
of the pillars2 and he made one hundred 
pomegranates1          and put them on  
the chains4  #jjc3jag ,he set up the    
pillars before the temple1 one on the   
right hand1          and the other on   
the left2 and called the name of that on
          the right hand ,jachin1 and   
the name of that on the left ,boaz4     
#jjd3jja ,then he made an altar of      
brass1 twenty cubits the length         
of it1 and twenty cubits the breadth of 
it1 and ten cubits          the height  
of it4  #jjd3jjb ,also he made the      

molten sea of ten cubits from brim to   
brim1          round in compass2 and the
 height of it was five cubits2          
and a line of thirty cubits compassed it
 round about4  #jjd3jjc ,under it was   
the likeness of oxen1 which did compass 
it          round about1 for ten cubits1
 compassing the sea round about4        
,the oxen were in two rows1 cast when it
 was cast4  #jjd3jjd ,it stood on twelve
 oxen1 three looking toward the north1  
and three looking toward the west1 and  
three looking          toward the south1
 and three looking toward the east3     
and the sea was set on them above1 and  
all their hinder          parts were    
inward4  #jjd3jje ,it was a handbreadth 
thick2 and the brim of it was worked    
like the brim of a cup1 like the flower 
of a lily3          it received and held
 three thousand baths4  #jjd3jjf ,he    
made also ten basins1 and put five on   
the right hand1          and five on the
 left1 to wash in them2 such things as  
belonged          to the burnt offering 

they washed in them2 but the sea was    
for the priests to wash in4  #jjd3jjg   
,he made the ten lampstands of gold     
according to the ordinance              
concerning them2 and he set them in the 
temple1 five on          the right hand1
 and five on the left4  #jjd3jjh ,he    
made also ten tables1 and placed them in
 the temple1          five on the right 
side1 and five on the left4  ,he made   
one          hundred basins of gold4    
#jjd3jji ,furthermore he made the court 
of the priests1 and the great court1    
and doors for the court1 and overlaid   
the doors of them with brass4  #jjd3jaj 
,he set the sea on the right side of the
 house eastward1          toward the    
south4  #jjd3jaa ,huram made the pots1  
and the shovels1 and the basins4        
,so ,huram made an end of doing the work
 that he did for king          ,solomon 
in the house of ,god3  #jjd3jab the two 
pillars1 and the bowls1 and the two     
capitals which were          on the top 
of the pillars1 and the two networks to 

cover the two          bowls of the     
capitals that were on the top of the    
pillars1  #jjd3jac and the four hundred 
pomegranates for the two networks2      
two rows of pomegranates for each       
network1 to cover the two          bowls
 of the capitals that were on the       
pillars4  #jjd3jad ,he made also the    
bases1 and the basins made he on the    
bases2  #jjd3jae one sea1 and the twelve
 oxen under it4  #jjd3jaf ,the pots     
also1 and the shovels1 and the forks1   
and all the vessels          of it1 did 
,huram his father make for king ,solomon
 for the house          of ,yahweh of   
bright brass4  #jjd3jag ,in the plain of
 the ,jordan did the king cast them1 in 
the clay          ground between        
,succoth and ,zeredah4  #jjd3jah ,thus  
,solomon made all these vessels in great
 abundance3          for the weight of  
the brass could not be found out4       
#jjd3jai ,solomon made all the vessels  
that were in the house of ,god1         
the golden altar also1 and the tables   

with the show bread on them2  #jjd3jbj  
and the lampstands with their lamps1 to 
burn according          to the ordinance
 before the oracle1 of pure gold2       
#jjd3jba and the flowers1 and the lamps1
 and the tongs1 of gold1          and   
that perfect gold2  #jjd3jbb and the    
snuffers1 and the basins1 and the       
spoons1 and the          fire pans1 of  
pure gold3  and as for the entry of the 
house1          the inner doors of it   
for the most holy place1 and the doors  
of the main hall of the temple were of  
gold4  #jje3jja ,thus all the work that 
,solomon did for the house of ,yahweh   
was finished4  ,solomon brought in the  
things that ,david          his father  
had dedicated1 even the silver1 and the 
gold1          and all the vessels1 and 
put them in the treasuries of           
the house of ,god4  #jje3jjb ,then      
,solomon assembled the elders of        
,israel1 and all          the heads of  
the tribes1 the princes of the fathers' 
houses of the children of ,israel1 to   

,jerusalem1 to bring up          the ark
 of the covenant of ,yahweh out of the  
city of ,david1          which is ,zion4

assembled themselves to the king        
at the feast1 which was in the seventh

,israel came3  and the ,levites took up 
the ark2  #jje3jje and they brought up

and all the holy vessels that were in   
the ,tent2 these did          the

cherubim covered the ark and the poles

so long that the ends of the poles were 
seen          from the ark before the   
oracle2 but they were not seen outside3 
and there it is to this day4  #jje3jaj  
,there was nothing in the ark save the  
two tables which ,moses put             
there at ,horeb1 when ,yahweh made a    
covenant with the children          of  
,israel1 when they came out of ,egypt4  
#jje3jaa ,it happened1 when the priests 
were come out of the holy place1        
7for all the priests who were present   
had sanctified themselves1          and 
did not keep their divisions2  #jje3jab 
also the ,levites who were the singers1 
all of them1          even ,asaph1      
,heman1 ,jeduthun1 and their sons and   
their brothers1          arrayed in fine
 linen1 with cymbals and stringed       
instruments          and harps1 stood at
 the east end of the altar1 and with    
them          one hundred twenty priests

happened1 when the trumpeters and       
singers were as one1          to make   
one sound to be heard in praising and   
thanking ,yahweh2          and when they
 lifted up their voice with the trumpets
 and cymbals          and instruments of
 music1 and praised ,yahweh1 saying1    
,for he          is good2 for his loving
 kindness endures forever2 that then    
the house was filled with a cloud1 even 
the house of ,yahweh1  #jje3jad so that 
the priests could not stand to minister 
by reason          of the cloud3  for   
the glory of ,yahweh filled the house of
 ,god4  #jjf3jja ,then spoke ,solomon1  
,yahweh has said that he would dwell    
in the thick darkness4  #jjf3jjb ,but ,i
 have built you a house of habitation1  
and a place for you          to dwell in

 face1 and blessed all the assembly of  
,israel3          and all the assembly  
of ,israel stood4  #jjf3jjd ,he said1   
,blessed be ,yahweh1 the ,god of        

,israel1 who spoke          with his    
mouth to ,david my father1 and has with 
his hands          fulfilled it1 saying1

brought forth my people out of the land 
of ,egypt1 ,i chose no city out of all  
the tribes of ,israel          to build 
a house in1 that my name might be there2
 neither chose          ,i any man to be
 prince over my people ,israel3

had made a bronze scaffold1 five cubits 
long1          and five cubits broad1   
and three cubits high1 and had set it   
in the midst of the court2 and on it he 
stood1 and kneeled          down on his 
knees before all the assembly of

there is no ,god like you1          in  
heaven1 or on earth2 who keep covenant

which you          did promise him3     
yes1 you spoke with your mouth1 and have
          fulfilled it with your hand1

my father that which you have promised  
him1 saying1          ,there shall not  
fail you a man in my sight to sit on the
 throne          of ,israel1 if only    
your children take heed to their way1   
to walk in my law as you have walked

,yahweh1 the ,god of ,israel1 let your  
word be verified1          which you    
spoke to your servant ,david4  #jjf3jah 
,but will ,god indeed dwell with men on 
the earth8          ,behold1 heaven and 
the heaven of heavens can't contain you2
          how much less this house which

respect to the prayer of your servant1  
and to his supplication1 ,yahweh my     
,god1 to listen to the cry          and 
to the prayer which your servant prays

 be open toward this house day and      
night1          even toward the place   
where you have said that you would put  
your name2 to listen to the prayer which
 your servant shall          pray toward

petitions of your servant1 and of your  
people ,israel1 when they shall pray    
toward this place3          yes1 hear   
from your dwelling place1 even from     
heaven2          and when you hear1     
forgive4  #jjf3jbb ,if a man sin against
 his neighbor1 and an oath is laid on   
him          to cause him to swear1 and 
he comes and swears before your         
altar in this house2  #jjf3jbc then hear
 from heaven1 and do1 and judge your    
servants1          bringing retribution 
to the wicked1 to bring his way on his  
own head2 and justifying the righteous1 

to give him according          to his   
righteousness4  #jjf3jbd ,if your people
 ,israel be struck down before the      
enemy1          because they have sinned
 against you1 and shall turn again      
and confess your name1 and pray and make
 supplication before          you in

heaven1 and forgive the sin of your     
people ,israel1          and bring them 
again to the land which you gave to them
          and to their fathers4         
#jjf3jbf ,when the sky is shut up1 and  
there is no rain1 because they          
have sinned against you2 if they pray   
toward this place1          and confess 
your name1 and turn from their sin1 when
 you          do afflict them3  #jjf3jbg
 then hear in heaven1 and forgive the   
sin of your servants1          and of   
your people ,israel1 when you teach them
 the good way          in which they    
should walk2 and send rain on your land1
          which you have given to your  
people for an inheritance4  #jjf3jbh ,if

 there be in the land famine1 if there  
be pestilence1          if there is     
blight or mildew1 locust or caterpillar2
          if their enemies besiege them 
in the land of their cities2            
whatever plague or whatever sickness    
there be2  #jjf3jbi whatever prayer and 
supplication be made by any man1        
or by all your people ,israel1 who shall
 know every man his own          plague 
and his own sorrow1 and shall spread    
forth his hands          toward this    
house3  #jjf3jcj then hear from heaven1 
your dwelling place and forgive1 and    
render          to every man according  
to all his ways1 whose heart you know2  
7for you1 even you only1 know the hearts
 of the children of men27  #jjf3jca that
 they may fear you1 to walk in your     
ways1 so long as they          live in  
the land which you gave to our fathers4

foreigner1 who is not of your people

from a far country for your great name's

and your outstretched arm2 when they    
shall come and pray toward this house3

from your dwelling place1          and  
do according to all that the foreigner  
calls to you for2          that all the 
peoples of the earth may know your name1

that this house which ,i have built is

people go out to battle against their   
enemies1          by whatever way you   
shall send them1 and they pray to you   
toward this city which you have chosen1

 from heaven their prayer and their

their cause4  #jjf3jcf ,if they sin     
against you 7for there is no man who    
doesn't sin71          and you are angry
 with them1 and deliver them to the     
enemy1          so that they carry them 

away captive to a land far off or near2

themselves in the land where they       
are carried captive1 and turn again1 and
 make supplication          to you in   
the land of their captivity1 saying1 ,we
 have sinned1          we have done     
perversely1 and have dealt wickedly2

their heart and with all          their 
soul in the land of their captivity1    
where they have          carried them   
captive1 and pray toward their land1    
which you          gave to their        
fathers1 and the city which you have    
chosen1          and toward the house

from your dwelling place1          their

the prayer that is made in this place4

clothed with salvation1 and let your

chosen this place to myself          for

heard in my          own land of your

reigned in ,jerusalem over all ,israel

with his fathers1 and he was buried in

,yahweh1 the sons of ,aaron1            
and the ,levites1 and made you priests  
after the manner          of the peoples
 of other lands8 so that whoever comes  
to consecrate himself with a young bull 
and seven rams1          the same may be
 a priest of those who are no gods4     
#jac3jaj ,but as for us1 ,yahweh is our 
,god1 and we have not forsaken him2     
and we have priests ministering to      
,yahweh1 the sons of ,aaron1            
and the ,levites in their work3         
#jac3jaa and they burn to ,yahweh every 
morning and every evening burnt         
offerings and sweet incense3  the show  
bread also set          they in order on
 the pure table2 and the lampstand of   
gold          with the lamps of it1 to  

burn every evening3  for we keep        
the charge of ,yahweh our ,god2 but you 
have forsaken him4  #jac3jab ,behold1   
,god is with us at our head1 and his    
priests with          the trumpets of   
alarm to sound an alarm against you4    
,children of ,israel1 don't you fight   
against ,yahweh1 the ,god          of   
your fathers2 for you shall not prosper4
  #jac3jac ,but ,jeroboam caused an     
ambush to come about behind them3       
so they were before ,judah1 and the     
ambush was behind them4  #jac3jad ,when 
,judah looked back1 behold1 the battle  
was before and          behind them2 and
 they cried to ,yahweh1 and the priests 
sounded          with the trumpets4     
#jac3jae ,then the men of ,judah gave a 
shout3  and as the men of ,judah        
shouted1          it happened1 that ,god
 struck ,jeroboam and all ,israel before
          ,abijah and ,judah4  #jac3jaf 
,the children of ,israel fled before    
,judah2 and ,god delivered          them
 into their hand4  #jac3jag ,abijah and 

his people killed them with a great     
slaughter3          so there fell down  
slain of ,israel five hundred thousand  
chosen men4  #jac3jah ,thus the children
 of ,israel were brought under at that  
time1          and the children of      
,judah prevailed1 because they relied   
on ,yahweh1 the ,god of their fathers4  
#jac3jai ,abijah pursued after          
,jeroboam1 and took cities from him1    
,bethel with the towns of it1 and       
,jeshanah with the towns of it1         
and ,ephron with the towns of it4       
#jac3jbj ,neither did ,jeroboam recover 
strength again in the days of ,abijah3  
and ,yahweh struck him1 and he died4    
#jac3jba ,but ,abijah grew mighty1 and  
took to himself fourteen wives1         
and became the father of twenty-two     
sons1 and sixteen daughters4  #jac3jbb  
,the rest of the acts of ,abijah1 and   
his ways1 and his sayings1          are 
written in the commentary of the prophet
 ,iddo4  #jad3jja ,so ,abijah slept with
 his fathers1 and they buried him in    

the city of ,david2 and ,asa his son    
reigned in his place4          ,in his  
days the land was quiet ten years4      
#jad3jjb ,asa did that which was good   
and right in the eyes of ,yahweh his    
,god3  #jad3jjc for he took away the    
foreign altars1 and the high places1    
and broke down the pillars1 and hewed   
down the ,asherim1  #jad3jjd and        
commanded ,judah to seek ,yahweh1 the   
,god of their fathers1          and to  
do the law and the commandment4         
#jad3jje ,also he took away out of all  
the cities of ,judah the high places    
and the sun images3  and the kingdom was
 quiet before him4  #jad3jjf ,he built  
fortified cities in ,judah2 for the land
 was quiet1          and he had no war  
in those years1 because ,yahweh had     
given him rest4  #jad3jjg ,for he said  
to ,judah1 ,let us build these cities1  
and make          about them walls1 and 
towers1 gates1 and bars2 the land       
is yet before us1 because we have sought
 ,yahweh our ,god2          we have     

sought him1 and he has given us rest on 
every side4          ,so they built and 
prospered4  #jad3jjh ,asa had an army   
that bore bucklers and spears1 out of   
,judah          three hundred thousand2 
and out of ,benjamin1 that bore         
shields and drew bows1 two hundred      
eighty thousand3          all these were
 mighty men of valor4  #jad3jji ,there  
came out against them ,zerah the        
,ethiopian with an          army of a   
million troops1 and three hundred       
chariots2          and he came to       
,mareshah4  #jad3jaj ,then ,asa went out
 to meet him1 and they set the battle in
 array          in the valley of        
,zephathah at ,mareshah4  #jad3jaa ,asa 
cried to ,yahweh his ,god1 and said1    
,yahweh1 there is none besides          
you to help1 between the mighty and him 
who has no strength3          help us1  
,yahweh our ,god2 for we rely on you1   
and in your name          are we come   
against this multitude4  ,yahweh1 you   
are our ,god2          don't let man    

prevail against you4  #jad3jab ,so      
,yahweh struck the ,ethiopians before   
,asa1 and before ,judah2          and   
the ,ethiopians fled4  #jad3jac ,asa and
 the people who were with him pursued   
them to ,gerar3          and there fell 
of the ,ethiopians so many that they    
could not          recover themselves2  
for they were destroyed before ,yahweh1 
and before his army2 and they carried   
away very much booty4  #jad3jad ,they   
struck all the cities round about       
,gerar2 for the fear          of ,yahweh
 came on them3  and they despoiled all  
the cities2          for there was much 
spoil in them4  #jad3jae ,they struck   
also the tents of livestock1 and carried
 away          sheep in abundance1 and  
camels1 and returned to ,jerusalem4     
#jae3jja ,the ,spirit of ,god came on   
,azariah the son of ,oded3  #jae3jjb and
 he went out to meet ,asa1 and said to  
him1 ,hear you me1 ,asa1          and   
all ,judah and ,benjamin3  ,yahweh is   
with you1 while you          are with   

him2 and if you seek him1 he will be    
found of you2          but if you       
forsake him1 he will forsake you4       
#jae3jjc ,now for a long season ,israel 
was without the true ,god1          and 
without a teaching priest1 and without  
law3  #jae3jjd ,but when in their       
distress they turned to ,yahweh1 the    
,god          of ,israel1 and sought    
him1 he was found of them4  #jae3jje ,in
 those times there was no peace to him  
who went out1          nor to him who   
came in2 but great vexations were on all
          the inhabitants of the lands4 
#jae3jjf ,they were broken in pieces1   
nation against nation1 and city         
against city2 for ,god did vex them with
 all adversity4  #jae3jjg ,but be you   
strong1 and don't let your hands be     
slack2          for your work shall be  
rewarded4  #jae3jjh ,when ,asa heard    
these words1 and the prophecy of ,oded  
the prophet1          he took courage1  
and put away the abominations out of all
          the land of ,judah and        

,benjamin1 and out of the cities which  
he had taken from the hill country of   
,ephraim2 and he renewed          the   
altar of ,yahweh1 that was before the   
porch of ,yahweh4  #jae3jji ,he gathered
 all ,judah and ,benjamin1 and those who
 sojourned          with them out of    
,ephraim and ,manasseh1 and out of      
,simeon3          for they fell to him  
out of ,israel in abundance1 when they  
saw that ,yahweh his ,god was with him4 
#jae3jaj ,so they gathered themselves   
together at ,jerusalem in the third     
month1          in the fifteenth year of
 the reign of ,asa4  #jae3jaa ,they     
sacrificed to ,yahweh in that day1 of   
the spoil which they          had

nevertheless the heart of ,asa was      
perfect all his days4  #jae3jah ,he     
brought into the house of ,god the      
things that his father          had     
dedicated1 and that he himself had      
dedicated1 silver1          and gold1   
and vessels4  #jae3jai ,there was no    

more war to the five and thirtieth year 
of          the reign of ,asa4  #jaf3jja
 ,in the six and thirtieth year of the  
reign of ,asa1 ,baasha king          of 
,israel went up against ,judah1 and     
built ,ramah1 that he might          not
 allow anyone to go out or come in to   
,asa king of ,judah4  #jaf3jjb ,then    
,asa brought out silver and gold out of 
the treasures          of the house of  
,yahweh and of the king's house1 and    
sent          to ,ben ,hadad king of    
,syria1 who lived at ,damascus1 saying1

and you1 as there was between           
my father and your father3  behold1 ,i  
have sent you silver          and gold2 
go1 break your league with ,baasha king 
of ,israel1          that he may depart

to king ,asa1 and sent the captains of  
his          armies against the cities  
of ,israel2 and they struck ,ijon1

,it happened1 when ,baasha heard of it1 
that he left off          building      
,ramah1 and let his work cease4         
#jaf3jjf ,then ,asa the king took all   
,judah2 and they carried away the stones
          of ,ramah1 and the timber of  
it1 with which ,baasha had built2       
and he built therewith ,geba and        
,mizpah4  #jaf3jjg ,at that time ,hanani
 the seer came to ,asa king of ,judah1  
and said to him1 ,because you have      
relied on the king of ,syria1           
and have not relied on ,yahweh your     
,god1 therefore is the army          of 
the king of ,syria escaped out of your  
hand4  #jaf3jjh ,weren't the ,ethiopians
 and the ,lubim a huge army1 with       
chariots          and horsemen exceeding
 many8 yet1 because you did rely on     
,yahweh1          he delivered them into
 your hand4  #jaf3jji ,for the eyes of  
,yahweh run back and forth throughout   
the whole earth1          to show       
himself strong in the behalf of them    
whose heart          is perfect toward  

him4  ,herein you have done foolishly2  
for from henceforth you shall have wars4

 seer1 and put him in the prison2       
for he was in a rage with him because of
 this thing4          ,asa oppressed    
some of the people at the same time4    
#jaf3jaa ,behold1 the acts of ,asa1     
first and last1 behold1 they are        
written in the book of the kings of     
,judah and ,israel4  #jaf3jab ,in the   
thirty-ninth year of his reign ,asa was 
diseased in his feet2          his      
disease was exceeding great3  yet in his
 disease he didn't          seek        
,yahweh1 but to the physicians4         
#jaf3jac ,asa slept with his fathers1   
and died in the one and fortieth        
year of his reign4  #jaf3jad ,they      
buried him in his own tombs1 which he   
had hewn out          for himself in the
 city of ,david1 and laid him in the bed
          which was filled with sweet   
odors and various kinds of spices       
prepared by the perfumers' art3  and    

they made a very great          burning 
for him4  #jag3jja ,jehoshaphat his son 
reigned in his place1 and strengthened  
himself against ,israel4  #jag3jjb ,he  
placed forces in all the fortified      
cities of ,judah1 and set               
garrisons in the land of ,judah1 and in 
the cities of ,ephraim1          which  
,asa his father had taken4  #jag3jjc    
,yahweh was with ,jehoshaphat1 because  
he walked in the first          ways of 
his father ,david1 and didn't seek the  
,baals1  #jag3jjd but sought to the ,god
 of his father1 and walked in his       
commandments1          and not after the
 doings of ,israel4  #jag3jje ,therefore
 ,yahweh established the kingdom in his 
hand2          and all ,judah brought to
 ,jehoshaphat tribute2 and he had riches
          and honor in abundance4       
#jag3jjf ,his heart was lifted up in the
 ways of ,yahweh3  and furthermore      
he took away the high places and the    
,asherim out of ,judah4  #jag3jjg ,also 
in the third year of his reign he sent  

his princes1          even ,ben ,hail1  
and ,obadiah1 and ,zechariah1 and       
,nethanel1          and ,micaiah1 to    
teach in the cities of ,judah2  #jag3jjh
 and with them the ,levites1 even       
,shemaiah1 and ,nethaniah1          and 
,zebadiah1 and ,asahel1 and             
,shemiramoth1 and ,jehonathan1          
and ,adonijah1 and ,tobijah1 and        
,tobadonijah1 the ,levites2          and
 with them ,elishama and ,jehoram1 the

went about throughout all the cities of

fell on all the kingdoms of the lands

so that they made no war against

flocks1          seven thousand and

 he built in ,judah          castles and

 works in the cities of ,judah2 and men

numbering of them according to their    
fathers' houses3          ,of ,judah1   
the captains of thousands3  ,adnah the  
captain1          and with him mighty   
men of valor three hundred thousand2

 who willingly offered          himself

certain years he went down to ,ahab to  
,samaria4          ,ahab killed sheep   
and oxen for him in abundance1 and for  
the people who were with him1 and moved 
him to go up with          him to       
,ramoth ,gilead4  #jah3jjc ,ahab king of
 ,israel said to ,jehoshaphat king of   
,judah1 ,will you          go with me to
 ,ramoth ,gilead8  ,he answered him1 ,i 
am as you are1          and my people as
 your people2 and we will be with you   
in the war4  #jah3jjd ,jehoshaphat said 
to the king of ,israel1 ,please inquire 
first          for the word of ,yahweh4 
#jah3jje ,then the king of ,israel      
gathered the prophets together1         
four hundred men1 and said to them1     

,shall we go to ,ramoth ,gilead         
to battle1 or shall ,i forbear8  ,they  
said1 ,go up2 for ,god          will    
deliver it into the hand of the king4   
#jah3jjf ,but ,jehoshaphat said1 ,isn't 
there here a prophet of ,yahweh besides1
          that we may inquire of him8   
#jah3jjg ,the king of ,israel said to   
,jehoshaphat1 ,there is yet one         
man by whom we may inquire of ,yahweh3  
but ,i hate him2          for he never  
prophesies good concerning me1 but      
always evil3          the same is       
,micaiah the son of ,imla4  ,jehoshaphat
 said1          ,don't let the king say 
so4  #jah3jjh ,then the king of ,israel 
called an officer1 and said1 ,get       
quickly          ,micaiah the son of    
,imla4  #jah3jji ,now the king of       
,israel and ,jehoshaphat the king of    
,judah sat          each on his throne1 
arrayed in their robes1 and they were   
sitting in an open place at the entrance
 of the gate of ,samaria2          and  
all the prophets were prophesying before

 them4  #jah3jaj ,zedekiah the son of   
,chenaanah made him horns of iron1 and  
said1          ,thus says ,yahweh1 ,with
 these shall you push the ,syrians1     
until they be consumed4  #jah3jaa ,all  
the prophets prophesied so1 saying1 ,go 
up to ,ramoth ,gilead1          and     
prosper2 for ,yahweh will deliver it    
into the hand          of the king4     
#jah3jab ,the messenger who went to call
 ,micaiah spoke to him1 saying1 ,behold1
          the words of the prophets     
declare good to the king with one mouth3
          let your word therefore1      
,please be like one of theirs1          
and speak you good4  #jah3jac ,micaiah  
said1 ,as ,yahweh lives1 what my ,god   
says1 that will ,i speak4  #jah3jad     
,when he was come to the king1 the king 
said to him1 ,micaiah1          shall we
 go to ,ramoth ,gilead to battle1 or    
shall ,i forbear8          ,he said1 ,go
 up1 and prosper2 and they shall be     
delivered          into your hand4      
#jah3jae ,the king said to him1 ,how    

many times shall ,i adjure you that you 
speak to me nothing but the truth in the
 name of ,yahweh8  #jah3jaf ,he said1 ,i
 saw all ,israel scattered on the       
mountains1 as sheep          that have  
no shepherd3  and ,yahweh said1 ,these  
have no master2          let them return
 every man to his house in peace4       
#jah3jag ,the king of ,israel said to   
,jehoshaphat1 ,didn't ,i tell you       
that he would not prophesy good         
concerning me1 but evil8  #jah3jah      
,micaiah said1 ,therefore hear you the  
word of ,yahweh3  ,i saw                
,yahweh sitting on his throne1 and all  
the army of heaven          standing on 
his right hand and on his left4         
#jah3jai ,yahweh said1 ',who shall      
entice ,ahab king of ,israel1 that he   
may          go up and fall at ,ramoth  
,gilead8'  ,one spoke saying after      
this manner1 and another saying after   
that manner4  #jah3jbj ,there came forth
 a spirit1 and stood before ,yahweh1 and
 said1          ',i will entice him4'   

,yahweh said to him1 ',how8'  #jah3jba  
,he said1 ',i will go forth1 and will be
 a lying spirit in the mouth          of
 all his prophets4'  ,he said1 ',you    
shall entice him1          and shall    
prevail also3  go forth1 and do so4'    
#jah3jbb ,now therefore1 behold1 ,yahweh
 has put a lying spirit          in the 
mouth of these your prophets2 and       
,yahweh has spoken          evil        
concerning you4  #jah3jbc ,then         
,zedekiah the son of ,chenaanah came    
near1 and struck ,micaiah          on   
the cheek1 and said1 ,which way went the
 ,spirit of ,yahweh          from me to 
speak to you8  #jah3jbd ,micaiah said1  
,behold1 you shall see on that day1 when
 you          shall go into an inner    
chamber to hide yourself4  #jah3jbe ,the
 king of ,israel said1 ,take ,micaiah1  
and carry him back          to ,amon the
 governor of the city1 and to ,joash the
 king's son2  #jah3jbf and say1 ,thus   
says the king1 ,put this fellow in the  
prison1          and feed him with bread

 of affliction and with water of        
affliction1          until ,i return in 
peace4  #jah3jbg ,micaiah said1 ,if you 
return at all in peace1 ,yahweh has not 
spoken by me4  ,he said1 ,hear1 you     
peoples1 all of you4  #jah3jbh ,so the  
king of ,israel and ,jehoshaphat the    
king of ,judah went          up to      
,ramoth ,gilead4  #jah3jbi ,the king of 
,israel said to ,jehoshaphat1 ,i will   
disguise myself1          and go into   
the battle2 but put you on your robes4  
,so the king of ,israel disguised       
himself2 and they went          into the
 battle4  #jah3jcj ,now the king of     
,syria had commanded the captains of    
his chariots1 saying1 ,fight neither    
with small nor great1          save only
 with the king of ,israel4  #jah3jca ,it
 happened1 when the captains of the     
chariots saw ,jehoshaphat1          that
 they said1 ,it is the king of ,israel4 
,therefore they          turned about to
 fight against him3  but ,jehoshaphat   
cried out1          and ,yahweh helped  

him2 and ,god moved them to depart from 
him4  #jah3jcb ,it happened1 when the   
captains of the chariots saw that it was
          not the king of ,israel1 that 
they turned back from pursuing him4     
#jah3jcc ,a certain man drew his bow at 
a venture1 and struck          the king 
of ,israel between the joints of the    
armor4          ,therefore he said to   
the driver of the chariot1 ,turn your   
hand1          and carry me out of the  
army2 for ,i am sore wounded4  #jah3jcd 
,the battle increased that day3  however
 the king of ,israel stayed             
himself up in his chariot against the   
,syrians until the even2          and   
about the time of the going down of the 
sun he died4  #jai3jja ,jehoshaphat the 
king of ,judah returned to his house in 
peace to ,jerusalem4  #jai3jjb ,jehu the
 son of ,hanani the seer went out to    
meet him1          and said to king     
,jehoshaphat1 ,should you help the      
wicked1          and love those who hate
 ,yahweh8 for this thing wrath is on you

          from before ,yahweh4  #jai3jjc
 ,nevertheless there are good things    
found in you1 in that you          have 
put away the ,asheroth out of the land1 
and have set          your heart to seek
 ,god4  #jai3jjd ,jehoshaphat lived at  
,jerusalem3  and he went out again among
          the people from ,beersheba to 
the hill country of ,ephraim1           
and brought them back to ,yahweh1 the   
,god of their fathers4  #jai3jje ,he set
 judges in the land throughout all the  
fortified cities          of ,judah1    
city by city1  #jai3jjf and said to the 
judges1 ,consider what you do3  for you 
don't judge for man1 but for ,yahweh2   
and he is with you          in the      
judgment4  #jai3jjg ,now therefore let  
the fear of ,yahweh be on you2 take heed
 and do it3          for there is no    
iniquity with ,yahweh our ,god1 nor     
respect          of persons1 nor taking 
of bribes4  #jai3jjh ,moreover in       
,jerusalem did ,jehoshaphat set of the  
,levites and          the priests1 and  

of the heads of the fathers' houses of  
,israel1          for the judgment of   
,yahweh1 and for controversies4         
,they returned to ,jerusalem4  #jai3jji 
,he charged them1 saying1 ,thus shall   
you do in the fear          of ,yahweh1 
faithfully1 and with a perfect heart4   
#jai3jaj ,whenever any controversy shall
 come to you from your brothers         
who dwell in their cities1 between blood
 and blood1          between law and    
commandment1 statutes and ordinances1   
you shall warn them1 that they not be   
guilty towards ,yahweh1          and so 
wrath come on you and on your brothers3 
this do1          and you shall not be  
guilty4  #jai3jaa ,behold1 ,amariah the 
chief priest is over you in all         
matters of ,yahweh2 and ,zebadiah the   
son of ,ishmael1          the ruler of  
the house of ,judah1 in all the king's  
matters3          also the ,levites     
shall be officers before you4           
,deal courageously1 and ,yahweh be with 
the good4  #jbj3jja ,it happened after  

this1 that the children of ,moab1       
and the children of ,ammon1 and with    
them some of the ,ammonites1            
came against ,jehoshaphat to battle4    
#jbj3jjb ,then there came some who told 
,jehoshaphat1 saying1 ,there comes      
a great multitude against you from      
beyond the sea from ,syria2          and
 behold1 they are in ,hazazon ,tamar

,jehoshaphat feared1 and set himself to 
seek to ,yahweh2          and he        
proclaimed a fast throughout all ,judah4
  #jbj3jjd ,judah gathered themselves   
together1 to seek help of ,yahweh3      
even out of all the cities of ,judah    
they came to seek ,yahweh4  #jbj3jje    
,jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of   
,judah and ,jerusalem1          in the  
house of ,yahweh1 before the new court2 
#jbj3jjf and he said1 ,yahweh1 the ,god 
of our fathers1 aren't you          ,god
 in heaven8 and aren't you ruler over   
all the kingdoms          of the        
nations8 and in your hand is power and  

might1          so that none is able to 
withstand you4  #jbj3jjg ,did not you1  
our ,god1 drive out the inhabitants of  
this land          before your people   
,israel1 and give it to the seed of     
,abraham          your friend forever8  
#jbj3jjh ,they lived therein1 and have  
built you a sanctuary therein

of the ,korahites1 stood up to praise

appointed those          who should sing

,when they began to sing and to praise1 
,yahweh set ambushers          against  
the children of ,ammon1 ,moab1 and      
,mount ,seir1          who had come     
against ,judah2 and they were struck4

 ,moab stood up against the             
inhabitants of ,mount ,seir1 utterly to 
kill and destroy them3          and when
 they had made an end of the inhabitants
 of ,seir1          everyone helped to  
destroy another4  #jbj3jbd ,when ,judah 
came to the place overlooking the       
wilderness1          they looked at the 
multitude2 and behold1 they were dead   

bodies fallen to the earth1 and there   
were none who escaped4  #jbj3jbe ,when  
,jehoshaphat and his people came to take
 the spoil of them1          they found 
among them in abundance both riches and 
dead bodies1          and precious      
jewels1 which they stripped off for     
themselves1          more than they     
could carry away3  and they were three  
days          in taking the spoil1 it   
was so much4  #jbj3jbf ,on the fourth   
day they assembled themselves in the    
valley          of ,beracah2 for there  
they blessed ,yahweh3  therefore the    
name          of that place was called  
,the valley of ,beracah to this day4

of ,judah and ,jerusalem1 and           
,jehoshaphat          in the forefront  
of them1 to go again to ,jerusalem with 
joy2          for ,yahweh had made them

the kingdoms of the countries1

was quiet2 for his ,god gave him

 reigned over ,judah3  he was

began to reign2 and he reigned

and his mother's name was ,azubah the

doing that which was right in the eyes

arose and destroyed all the royal seed

,jehoshabeath1 the daughter of the king1

,ahaziah1 and stole him away from among 
the king's sons          who were slain1

 and put him and his nurse in the       
bedchamber4          ,so ,jehoshabeath1 
the daughter of king ,jehoram1 the wife 
of ,jehoiada the priest 7for she was the
 sister of ,ahaziah71          hid him  
from ,athaliah1 so that she didn't kill 
him4  #jbb3jab ,he was with them hid in 
the house of ,god six years3            
and ,athaliah reigned over the land4    
#jbc3jja ,in the seventh year ,jehoiada 
strengthened himself1 and took

,behold1 the king's son shall reign1

,sabbath1 of the priests and of the     
,levites1          shall be porters of  
the thresholds2  #jbc3jje and a third   
part shall be at the king's house2 and a

be in the courts of the house of

priests1          and those who minister

delivered to the captains of hundreds   
the spears1 and bucklers1 and shields1

from the right side of the house to the 
left side of the house1          along  
by the altar and the house1 by the king

and ,jehoiada and his sons anointed him2

the king stood by his pillar at

,athaliah tore her clothes1          and

,jehoiada the priest brought out the    
captains of hundreds who were set       
over the army1 and said to them1 ,have  
her forth between the ranks2            
and whoever follows her1 let him be     
slain with the sword3          for the  
priest said1 ,don't kill her in the     
house of ,yahweh4  #jbc3jae ,so they    
made way for her2 and she went to the   
entrance of the horse          gate to  
the king's house3  and they killed her  
there4  #jbc3jaf ,jehoiada made a       
covenant between himself1 and all the   

people1          and the king1 that they
 should be ,yahweh's people4  #jbc3jag  
,all the people went to the house of    
,baal1 and broke it down1          and  
broke his altars and his images in      
pieces1 and killed          ,mattan the 
priest of ,baal before the altars4      
#jbc3jah ,jehoiada appointed the        
officers of the house of ,yahweh under  
the hand of the priests the ,levites1   
whom ,david had distributed          in 
the house of ,yahweh1 to offer the burnt
 offerings of ,yahweh1          as it is
 written in the law of ,moses1 with     
rejoicing and          with singing1    
according to the order of ,david4

gates of the house of ,yahweh1          
that no one who was unclean in anything

 ,joash was seven years old when he     
began to reign2          and he reigned 
forty years in ,jerusalem3  and his     
mother's          name was ,zibiah1 of  
,beersheba4  #jbd3jjb ,joash did that   
which was right in the eyes of ,yahweh  
all the days          of ,jehoiada the  
priest4  #jbd3jjc ,jehoiada took for him
 two wives2 and he became the father    
of sons and daughters4  #jbd3jjd ,it    
happened after this1 that ,joash was    
minded to restore          the house of 
,yahweh4  #jbd3jje ,he gathered together
 the priests and the ,levites1          
and said to them1 ,go out to the cities 
of ,judah1 and gather          of all   
,israel money to repair the house of    
your ,god          from year to year2   
and see that you hasten the matter4     

,however the ,levites didn't hurry4     
#jbd3jjf ,the king called for ,jehoiada 
the chief1 and said to him1             
,why haven't you required of the        
,levites to bring in out of ,judah      
and out of ,jerusalem the tax of ,moses 
the servant of ,yahweh1          and of 
the assembly of ,israel1 for the tent of
 the testimony8  #jbd3jjg ,for the sons 
of ,athaliah1 that wicked woman1 had    
broken up          the house of ,god2   
and also all the dedicated things of the
 house          of ,yahweh did they     
bestow on the ,baals4  #jbd3jjh ,so the 
king commanded1 and they made a chest1  
and set it          outside at the gate 
of the house of ,yahweh4  #jbd3jji ,they
 made a proclamation through ,judah and 
,jerusalem1          to bring in for    
,yahweh the tax that ,moses the servant 
of ,god          laid on ,israel in the 
wilderness4  #jbd3jaj ,all the princes  
and all the people rejoiced1 and brought
 in1          and cast into the chest1  
until they had made an end4  #jbd3jaa   

,it was so1 that whenever the chest was 
brought to the king's          officers 
by the hand of the ,levites1 and when   
they saw          that there was much   
money1 the king's scribe and the chief  
priest's officer came and emptied the   
chest1 and took it1          and carried
 it to its place again4  ,thus they did 
day by day1          and gathered money 
in abundance4  #jbd3jab ,the king and   
,jehoiada gave it to such as did the    
work of          the service of the     
house of ,yahweh2 and they hired masons 
and carpenters to restore the house of  
,yahweh1 and also such          as      
worked iron and brass to repair the     
house of ,yahweh4  #jbd3jac ,so the     
workmen worked1 and the work of         
repairing went forward          in their
 hands1 and they set up the house of    
,god in its state1          and         
strengthened it4  #jbd3jad ,when they   
had made an end1 they brought the rest  
of the money          before the king   
and ,jehoiada1 of which were made       

vessels          for the house of       
,yahweh1 even vessels with which to     
minister          and to offer1 and     
spoons1 and vessels of gold and silver4 
,they offered burnt offerings in the    
house of ,yahweh continually            
all the days of ,jehoiada4  #jbd3jae    
,but ,jehoiada grew old and was full of 
days1 and he died2          one hundred 
thirty years old was he when he died4

 ,david among the kings1                
because he had done good in ,israel1 and

,now after the death of ,jehoiada came  
the princes of ,judah1          and made

came on ,judah          and ,jerusalem

disobey you the commandments of ,yahweh1

,they conspired against him1 and stoned 
him with stones at          the         
commandment of the king in the court of 
the house of ,yahweh4  #jbd3jbb ,thus   
,joash the king didn't remember the     
kindness which          ,jehoiada his   
father had done to him1 but killed his  
son4          ,when he died1 he said1   
,yahweh look on it1 and require it4     
#jbd3jbc ,it happened at the end of the 
year1 that the army of the ,syrians     
came up against him3  and they came to  
,judah and ,jerusalem1          and     
destroyed all the princes of the people 
from among the people1          and sent

 all the spoil of them to the king of   
,damascus4  #jbd3jbd ,for the army of   
the ,syrians came with a small company  
of men2          and ,yahweh delivered a
 very great army into their hand1       
because they had forsaken ,yahweh1 the

they left him very sick71          his  
own servants conspired against him for  
the blood of the sons          of       
,jehoiada the priest1 and killed him on 
his bed1 and he died2          and they 
buried him in the city of ,david1 but   
they didn't          bury him in the

 those who conspired against him3       
,zabad the son          of ,shimeath the
 ,ammonitess1 and ,jehozabad the son of 
,shimrith the ,moabitess4  #jbd3jbg ,now
 concerning his sons1 and the greatness 
of the burdens          laid on him1 and
 the rebuilding of the house of ,god1   
behold1          they are written in the

 commentary of the book of the kings4   
,amaziah his son reigned in his place4  
#jbe3jja ,amaziah was twenty-five years 
old when he began to reign2          and
 he reigned twenty-nine years in        
,jerusalem3          and his mother's   
name was ,jehoaddan1 of ,jerusalem4     
#jbe3jjb ,he did that which was right in
 the eyes of ,yahweh1 but not           
with a perfect heart4  #jbe3jjc ,now it 
happened1 when the kingdom was          
established to him1          that he    
killed his servants who had killed the

didn't put their children to death1 but 
did according          to that which is

the children1 neither shall the children

,judah together1 and ordered them       
according to their fathers' houses1     

under captains of thousands          and
 captains of hundreds1 even all ,judah  
and ,benjamin3          and he numbered 
them from twenty years old and upward1  
and found them three hundred thousand   
chosen men1 able to go          forth to
 war1 who could handle spear and shield4

thousand mighty men of valor out        
of ,israel for one hundred talents of

therefore their anger was greatly       
kindled against ,judah1          and    
they returned home in fierce anger4

children of ,judah carry away alive1

top of the rock1 so that they all were

 of the army whom ,amaziah sent back1

him to battle1 fell on the cities of

he sent to him a prophet1 who said to   
him1 ,why have you          sought after
 the gods of the people1 which have not 
delivered          their own people out

 he talked with him1 that the king said 
to him1          ,have we made you of   
the king's counsel8  ,stop6  ,why should

know that ,god has determined to destroy

of ,judah took advice1 and sent to

saying1 ,come1 let us look one another

 saying1          ,the thistle that was 
in ,lebanon sent to the cedar that was  
in ,lebanon1 saying1 ,give your daughter
 to my son as wife3          and there  
passed by a wild animal that was in     
,lebanon1          and trod down the

you have struck ,edom2 and your heart

five and twenty years old when he began

,jehizkiah the son of ,shallum1 and     
,amasa the son of ,hadlai1              
stood up against those who came from the
 war1  #jbh3jac and said to them1 ,you  
shall not bring in the captives here3   
for you purpose that which will bring on
 us a trespass          against ,yahweh1
 to add to our sins and to our trespass2
 for our          trespass is great1 and
 there is fierce wrath against ,israel4

captives and the spoil before           
the princes and all the assembly4       
#jbh3jae ,the men who have been         
mentioned by name rose up1 and took     
the captives1 and with the spoil clothed
 all who were          naked among them1
 and arrayed them1 and shod them1       
and gave them to eat and to drink1 and  
anointed them1          and carried all 
the feeble of them on donkeys1 and      
brought          them to ,jericho1 the  
city of palm trees1 to their brothers3  

then they returned to ,samaria4

send to the kings of ,assyria

for he had dealt wantonly in ,judah1 and
 trespassed          severely against

distressed him1          but didn't

took away a portion out of the house of

          it to the king of ,assyria3   
but it didn't help him4  #jbh3jbb ,in   
the time of his distress did he trespass
 yet more against ,yahweh1          this
 same king ,ahaz4  #jbh3jbc ,for he     
sacrificed to the gods of ,damascus1    
which struck him2          and he said1 
,because the gods of the kings of ,syria
 helped them1          therefore will ,i
 sacrifice to them1 that they may help  
me4          ,but they were the ruin of 
him1 and of all ,israel4  #jbh3jbd ,ahaz
 gathered together the vessels of the   
house of ,god1          and cut in      
pieces the vessels of the house of ,god1
 and shut          up the doors of the  
house of ,yahweh2 and he made him altars
          in every corner of ,jerusalem4
  #jbh3jbe ,in every city of ,judah he  
made high places to burn incense        
to other gods1 and provoked to anger    
,yahweh1 the ,god          of his       
fathers4  #jbh3jbf ,now the rest of his 
acts1 and all his ways1 first and last1 
behold1          they are written in the

 book of the kings of ,judah and        
,israel4  #jbh3jbg ,ahaz slept with his 
fathers1 and they buried him in the

they didn't bring him into the tombs    
of the kings of ,israel3  and ,hezekiah 
his son reigned          in his place4  
#jbi3jja ,hezekiah began to reign when  
he was twenty-five years old2           
and he reigned twenty-nine years in     
,jerusalem3          and his mother's   
name was ,abijah1 the daughter of

according to          all that ,david

forth the filthiness out of the holy

trespassed1 and done that which was evil
          in the sight of ,yahweh our

and put out          the lamps1 and have
 not burned incense nor offered burnt   
offerings in the holy place to the ,god

wrath of ,yahweh was on ,judah and      
,jerusalem1          and he has         
delivered them to be tossed back and    
forth1          to be an astonishment1  
and a hissing1 as you see with your     
eyes4  #jbi3jji ,for1 behold1 our       
fathers have fallen by the sword1 and   
our sons          and our daughters and 
our wives are in captivity for this4    
#jbi3jaj ,now it is in my heart to make 

a covenant with ,yahweh1 the ,god       
of ,israel1 that his fierce anger may   
turn away from us4  #jbi3jaa ,my sons1  
don't be negligent now2 for ,yahweh has 
chosen you          to stand before him1
 to minister to him1 and that you should
          be his ministers1 and burn    
incense4  #jbi3jab ,then the ,levites   
arose1 ,mahath1 the son of ,amasai1     
and ,joel the son of ,azariah1 of the   
sons of the ,kohathites2          and of
 the sons of ,merari1 ,kish the son of  
,abdi1 and ,azariah          the son of 
,jehallelel2 and of the ,gershonites1   
,joah the son          of ,zimmah1 and  
,eden the son of ,joah2  #jbi3jac and of
 the sons of ,elizaphan1 ,shimri and    
,jeuel2 and of the sons          of     
,asaph1 ,zechariah and ,mattaniah2      
#jbi3jad and of the sons of ,heman1     
,jehuel and ,shimei2 and of the sons    
of ,jeduthun1 ,shemaiah and ,uzziel4

and sanctified themselves1          and 
went in1 according to the commandment of

 the king          by the words of      
,yahweh1 to cleanse the house of        
,yahweh4  #jbi3jaf ,the priests went in 
to the inner part of the house of       
,yahweh1          to cleanse it1 and    
brought out all the uncleanness that    
they found          in the temple of    
,yahweh into the court of the house of  
,yahweh4          ,the ,levites took it1
 to carry it out abroad to the brook    
,kidron4  #jbi3jag ,now they began on   
the first day of the first month to     
sanctify1          and on the eighth day
 of the month came they to the porch of 
,yahweh2          and they sanctified   
the house of ,yahweh in eight days3     
and on the sixteenth day of the first

they went in to ,hezekiah the king      
within the palace1          and said1   
,we have cleansed all the house of      
,yahweh1          and the altar of burnt
 offering1 with all the vessels of it1  
and the table of show bread1 with all   
the vessels of it4  #jbi3jai ,moreover  

all the vessels1 which king ,ahaz in his
 reign did cast          away when he   
trespassed1 have we prepared and        
sanctified2          and behold1 they   
are before the altar of ,yahweh4        
#jbi3jbj ,then ,hezekiah the king arose 
early1 and gathered the princes         
of the city1 and went up to the house of
 ,yahweh4  #jbi3jba ,they brought seven 
bulls1 and seven rams1 and seven lambs1 
and seven male goats1 for a sin offering
 for the kingdom          and for the   
sanctuary and for ,judah4  ,he commanded
 the priests          the sons of ,aaron
 to offer them on the altar of ,yahweh4 
#jbi3jbb ,so they killed the bulls1 and 
the priests received the blood1         
and sprinkled it on the altar3  and they
 killed the rams1          and sprinkled
 the blood on the altar3  they killed   
also the lambs1          and sprinkled  
the blood on the altar4  #jbi3jbc ,they 
brought near the male goats for the sin 
offering before          the king and   
the assembly2 and they laid their hands 

on them3  #jbi3jbd and the priests      
killed them1 and they made a sin        
offering with          their blood on   
the altar1 to make atonement for all    
,israel2          for the king commanded
 that the burnt offering and the sin    
offering should be made for all ,israel4
  #jbi3jbe ,he set the ,levites in the  
house of ,yahweh with cymbals1          
with stringed instruments1 and with     
harps1 according to          the        
commandment of ,david1 and of ,gad the  
king's seer1          and ,nathan the   
prophet2 for the commandment was of     
,yahweh          by his prophets4       
#jbi3jbf ,the ,levites stood with the   
instruments of ,david1 and the priests  
with the trumpets4  #jbi3jbg ,hezekiah  
commanded to offer the burnt offering on
 the altar4          ,when the burnt    
offering began1 the song of ,yahweh     
began also1          and the trumpets1  
together with the instruments of ,david 
king of ,israel4  #jbi3jbh ,all the     
assembly worshiped1 and the singers     

sang1 and the          trumpeters       
sounded2 all this continued until the   
burnt          offering was finished4   
#jbi3jbi ,when they had made an end of  
offering1 the king and all who          
were present with him bowed themselves  
and worshiped4  #jbi3jcj ,moreover      
,hezekiah the king and the princes      
commanded          the ,levites to sing 
praises to ,yahweh with the words of    
,david1          and of ,asaph the seer4
  ,they sang praises with gladness1     
and they bowed their heads and          
worshiped4  #jbi3jca ,then ,hezekiah    
answered1 ,now you have consecrated     
yourselves          to ,yahweh2 come    
near and bring sacrifices and thank     
offerings          into the house of    
,yahweh4  ,the assembly brought in      
sacrifices          and thank offerings2
 and as many as were of a willing heart 
brought burnt offerings4  #jbi3jcb ,the 
number of the burnt offerings which the 
assembly brought          was seventy   
bulls1 one hundred rams1 and two hundred

 lambs3          all these were for a   
burnt offering to ,yahweh4  #jbi3jcc    
,the consecrated things were six hundred
 oxen and          three thousand sheep4
  #jbi3jcd ,but the priests were too    
few1 so that they could not flay all    
the burnt offerings3  therefore their   
brothers the ,levites          helped   
them1 until the work was ended1 and     
until the priests          had          
sanctified themselves2 for the ,levites 
were more upright          in heart to  
sanctify themselves than the priests4   
#jbi3jce ,also the burnt offerings were 
in abundance1 with the fat          of  
the peace offerings1 and with the drink 
offerings for every          burnt      
offering4  ,so the service of the house 
of ,yahweh was          set in order4   
#jbi3jcf ,hezekiah rejoiced1 and all the
 people1 because of that which ,god     
had prepared for the people3  for the   
thing was done suddenly4  #jcj3jja      
,hezekiah sent to all ,israel and       
,judah1 and wrote letters also          

to ,ephraim and ,manasseh1 that they    
should come to the house          of    
,yahweh at ,jerusalem1 to keep the      
,passover to ,yahweh1          the ,god 
of ,israel4  #jcj3jjb ,for the king had 
taken counsel1 and his princes1 and all 
the assembly          in ,jerusalem1 to 
keep the ,passover in the second month4 
#jcj3jjc ,for they could not keep it at 
that time1 because the priests          
had not sanctified themselves in        
sufficient number1 neither had          
the people gathered themselves together 
to ,jerusalem4  #jcj3jjd ,the thing was 
right in the eyes of the king and of all
 the assembly4  #jcj3jje ,so they       
established a decree to make            
proclamation throughout          all    
,israel1 from ,beersheba even to ,dan1  
that they should come          to keep  
the ,passover to ,yahweh1 the ,god of   
,israel1 at ,jerusalem3          for    
they had not kept it in great numbers in
 such sort          as it is written4   
#jcj3jjf ,so the posts went with the    

letters from the king and his           
princes throughout all ,israel and      
,judah1 and according to          the   
commandment of the king1 saying1 ,you   
children of ,israel1          turn again
 to ,yahweh1 the ,god of ,abraham1      
,isaac1 and ,israel1          that he   
may return to the remnant that have     
escaped of you          out of the hand 
of the kings of ,assyria4  #jcj3jjg     
,don't be you like your fathers1 and    
like your brothers1          who        
trespassed against ,yahweh1 the ,god of 
their fathers1          so that he gave 
them up to desolation1 as you see4      
#jcj3jjh ,now don't you be stiff-necked1
 as your fathers were2          but     
yield yourselves to ,yahweh1 and enter  
into his sanctuary1          which he   
has sanctified forever1 and serve       
,yahweh your ,god1          that his    
fierce anger may turn away from you4

,yahweh1 your brothers and your children
          shall find compassion before  

those who led them captive1          and
 shall come again into this land3  for  
,yahweh your ,god is          gracious  
and merciful1 and will not turn away his
 face from you1          if you return

from city to city through the country of
          ,ephraim and ,manasseh1 even  
to ,zebulun3  but they ridiculed them1  
and mocked them4  #jcj3jaa ,nevertheless
 certain men of ,asher and ,manasseh and
 of ,zebulun          humbled           
themselves1 and came to ,jerusalem4     
#jcj3jab ,also on ,judah came the hand  
of ,god to give them one heart1         
to do the commandment of the king and of
 the princes by          the word of    
,yahweh4  #jcj3jac ,there assembled at  
,jerusalem much people to keep the feast
          of unleavened bread in the    
second month1 a very great assembly4    
#jcj3jad ,they arose and took away the  
altars that were in ,jerusalem1         
and all the altars for incense took they
 away1 and cast them          into the  

brook ,kidron4  #jcj3jae ,then they     
killed the ,passover on the fourteenth  
day of the          second month3  and  
the priests and the ,levites were       
ashamed1          and sanctified        
themselves1 and brought burnt offerings 
into          the house of ,yahweh4

after their order1 according to the law 
of ,moses the man of ,god3  the priests 
sprinkled the blood          which they 
received of the hand of the ,levites4

assembly who had not          sanctified

 the charge          of killing the     
,passovers for everyone who was not     
clean1          to sanctify them to

had not cleansed themselves1            
yet did they eat the ,passover otherwise
 than it is written4          ,for      
,hezekiah had prayed for them1 saying1  

,the good          ,yahweh pardon

 seek ,god1 ,yahweh1 the ,god of his    
fathers1          though not cleansed   
according to the purification           
of the sanctuary4  #jcj3jbj ,yahweh     
listened to ,hezekiah1 and healed the   
people4  #jcj3jba ,the children of      
,israel who were present at ,jerusalem  
kept          the feast of unleavened   
bread seven days with great gladness2   
and the ,levites and the priests praised
 ,yahweh day by day1          singing   
with loud instruments to ,yahweh4       
#jcj3jbb ,hezekiah spoke comfortably to 
all the ,levites who had good           
understanding in the service of ,yahweh4
  ,so they ate          throughout the  
feast for the seven days1 offering      
sacrifices          of peace offerings1 
and making confession to ,yahweh1 the   
,god          of their fathers4

counsel to keep other seven days2       
and they kept other seven days with     

gladness4  #jcj3jbd ,for ,hezekiah king 
of ,judah did give to the assembly for  
offerings          one thousand bulls   
and seven thousand sheep2 and the       
princes          gave to the assembly a 
thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep3  
and a great number of priests sanctified
 themselves4  #jcj3jbe ,all the assembly
 of ,judah1 with the priests and the    
,levites1          and all the assembly 
who came out of ,israel1 and the        
foreigners who came out of the land of  
,israel1 and who lived          in      
,judah1 rejoiced4  #jcj3jbf ,so there   
was great joy in ,jerusalem2 for since  
the time          of ,solomon the son of
 ,david king of ,israel there was not   
the like in ,jerusalem4  #jcj3jbg ,then 
the priests the ,levites arose and      
blessed the people3          and their  
voice was heard1 and their prayer came  
up to his          holy habitation1 even

 was finished1 all ,israel who were     
present went          out to the cities 

of ,judah1 and broke in pieces the      
pillars1          and hewed down the

destroyed them all4          ,then all  
the children of ,israel returned1 every 
man to          his possession1 into

appointed the divisions of the priests  
and the ,levites          after their   
divisions1 every man according to his   
service1          both the priests and  
the ,levites1 for burnt offerings       
and for peace offerings1 to minister1   
and to give thanks1          and to     
praise in the gates of the camp of

the king's portion of his substance for 
the burnt offerings1 to wit1 for the    
morning and evening          burnt

people who lived in ,jerusalem to give  
the portion of the priests and the      
,levites1 that they might          give 
themselves to the law of ,yahweh4

came abroad1 the children of ,israel    
gave in abundance the first fruits of   
grain1 new wine1          and oil1 and  
honey1 and of all the increase of the   
field2          and the tithe of all    
things brought they in abundantly4

,judah1 who lived in the cities         
of ,judah1 they also brought in the     
tithe of oxen and sheep1          and   
the tithe of dedicated things which were
 consecrated          to ,yahweh their

,in the third month they began to lay   
the foundation of the heaps1            
and finished them in the seventh month4

 came and saw the heaps1          they  

blessed ,yahweh1 and his people ,israel4

the priests and the ,levites

 the chief priest1 of the house of      
,zadok1 answered him          and said1 
,since the people began to bring the    
offerings          into the house of

and have left plenty3  for ,yahweh has

,jerimoth1          and ,jozabad1 and

 ,benaiah1          were overseers under

 the hand of ,conaniah and ,shimei his  
brother1          by the appointment of 
,hezekiah the king1 and ,azariah the    
ruler          of the house of ,god4

,levite1 the porter at the east gate1   
was over the freewill offerings of ,god1
 to distribute          the offerings of
 ,yahweh1 and the most holy things4

,amariah1          and ,shecaniah1 in   
the cities of the priests1 in their     
office of trust1 to give to their       
brothers by divisions1          as well

besides those who were reckoned by      
genealogy of males1          from three 
years old and upward1 even everyone who 
entered          into the house of      
,yahweh1 as the duty of every day       
required1          for their service in 
their offices according to their

reckoned by genealogy of the priests    

by their fathers' houses1 and the       
,levites from twenty years          old 
and upward1 in their offices by their   
divisions2  #jca3jah and those who were 
reckoned by genealogy of all their      
little ones1          their wives1 and  
their sons1 and their daughters1 through
 all          the congregation3  for in 
their office of trust they sanctified   
themselves in holiness4  #jca3jai ,also 
for the sons of ,aaron the priests1 who 
were in the fields          of the      
suburbs of their cities1 in every city1 
there were men          who were        
mentioned by name1 to give portions to  
all the males          among the        
priests1 and to all who were reckoned by
 genealogy          among the ,levites4 
#jca3jbj ,thus did ,hezekiah throughout 
all ,judah2 and he worked that          
which was good and right and faithful   
before ,yahweh his ,god4  #jca3jba ,in  
every work that he began in the service 
of the house of ,god1          and in   
the law1 and in the commandments1 to    

seek his ,god1          he did it with  
all his heart1 and prospered4  #jcb3jja 
,after these things1 and this           
faithfulness1 ,sennacherib king         
of ,assyria came1 and entered into      
,judah1 and encamped against            
the fortified cities1 and thought to win
 them for himself4  #jcb3jjb ,when      
,hezekiah saw that ,sennacherib was     
come1 and that he was          purposed 
to fight against ,jerusalem1  #jcb3jjc  
he took counsel with his princes and his
 mighty men to stop          the waters 
of the springs which were outside of the
 city2          and they helped him4    
#jcb3jjd ,so there was gathered much    
people together1 and they stopped       
all the springs1 and the brook that     
flowed through the midst          of the
 land1 saying1 ,why should the kings of 
,assyria come1          and find much   
water8  #jcb3jje ,he took courage1 and  
built up all the wall that was broken   
down1          and raised it up to the  
towers1 and the other wall outside1     

and strengthened ,millo in the city of  
,david1 and made          weapons and   
shields in abundance4  #jcb3jjf ,he set 
captains of war over the people1 and    
gathered them          together to him  
in the broad place at the gate of the   
city1          and spoke comfortably to 
them1 saying1  #jcb3jjg ,be strong and  
of good courage1 don't be afraid nor    
dismayed for          the king of       
,assyria1 nor for all the multitude who 
is with him2          for there is a    
greater with us than with him3  #jcb3jjh
 with him is an arm of flesh2 but with  
us is ,yahweh our ,god          to help 
us1 and to fight our battles4  ,the     
people rested          themselves on the
 words of ,hezekiah king of ,judah4     
#jcb3jji ,after this did ,sennacherib   
king of ,assyria send his servants      
to ,jerusalem1 7now he was before       
,lachish1 and all his power             
with him71 to ,hezekiah king of ,judah1 
and to all ,judah          who were at  
,jerusalem1 saying1  #jcb3jaj ,thus says

 ,sennacherib king of ,assyria1 ,whereon
 do you trust1          that you abide  
the siege in ,jerusalem8  #jcb3jaa ,does
 not ,hezekiah persuade you1 to give you
 over to die          by famine and by  
thirst1 saying1 ,yahweh our ,god will   
deliver          us out of the hand of  
the king of ,assyria8  #jcb3jab ,has not
 the same ,hezekiah taken away his high 
places and his altars1          and     
commanded ,judah and ,jerusalem1 saying1
 ,you shall worship          before one 
altar1 and on it shall you burn incense8
  #jcb3jac ,don't you know what ,i and  
my fathers have done to all the peoples 
of the lands8  ,were the gods of the    
nations of the lands          in any    
wise able to deliver their land out of  
my hand8  #jcb3jad ,who was there among 
all the gods of those nations which my  
fathers          utterly destroyed1 that
 could deliver his people out of my     
hand1          that your ,god should be 
able to deliver you out of my hand8     
#jcb3jae ,now therefore don't let       

,hezekiah deceive you1 nor persuade     
you after this manner1 neither believe  
you him2 for no god          of any     
nation or kingdom was able to deliver   
his people          out of my hand1 and 
out of the hand of my fathers3          
how much less shall your ,god deliver   
you out of my hand8  #jcb3jaf ,his      
servants spoke yet more against ,yahweh 
,god1 and against          his servant  
,hezekiah4  #jcb3jag ,he wrote also     
letters1 to rail on ,yahweh1 the ,god of
 ,israel1          and to speak against 
him1 saying1 ,as the gods of the nations
          of the lands1 which have not  
delivered their people out of           
my hand1 so shall the ,god of ,hezekiah 
not deliver his people          out of  
my hand4  #jcb3jah ,they cried with a   
loud voice in the ,jews' language to the
 people          of ,jerusalem who were 
on the wall1 to frighten them1          
and to trouble them2 that they might    
take the city4  #jcb3jai ,they spoke of 
the ,god of ,jerusalem1 as of the gods  

of the peoples          of the earth1   
which are the work of men's hands4      
#jcb3jbj ,hezekiah the king1 and ,isaiah
 the prophet the son of ,amoz1          
prayed because of this1 and cried to    
heaven4  #jcb3jba ,yahweh sent an angel1
 who cut off all the mighty men of      
valor1          and the leaders and     
captains1 in the camp of the king of    
,assyria4          ,so he returned with 
shame of face to his own land4          
,when he was come into the house of his 
god1 those who came          forth from 
his own bowels killed him there with the
 sword4  #jcb3jbb ,thus ,yahweh saved   
,hezekiah and the inhabitants of        
,jerusalem          from the hand of    
,sennacherib the king of ,assyria1 and  
from          the hand of all others1   
and guided them on every side4  #jcb3jbc
 ,many brought gifts to ,yahweh to      
,jerusalem1 and precious things         
to ,hezekiah king of ,judah2 so that he 
was exalted in the sight          of all
 nations from thenceforth4  #jcb3jbd ,in

 those days ,hezekiah was sick even to  
death3  and he prayed          to       
,yahweh2 and he spoke to him1 and gave  
him a sign4  #jcb3jbe ,but ,hezekiah    
didn't render again according to the    
benefit done to him2          for his   
heart was lifted up3  therefore there   
was wrath on him1          and on ,judah
 and ,jerusalem4  #jcb3jbf              
,notwithstanding ,hezekiah humbled      
himself for the pride of his heart1     
both he and the inhabitants of          
,jerusalem1 so that the wrath           
of ,yahweh didn't come on them in the   
days of ,hezekiah4  #jcb3jbg ,hezekiah  
had exceeding much riches and honor3    
and he provided him treasuries for      
silver1 and for gold1          and for  
precious stones1 and for spices1 and for
 shields1          and for all manner of
 goodly vessels2  #jcb3jbh storehouses  
also for the increase of grain and new  
wine and oil2          and stalls for   
all manner of animals1 and flocks in    
folds4  #jcb3jbi ,moreover he provided  

him cities1 and possessions of flocks   
and          herds in abundance2 for    
,god had given him very much substance4 
#jcb3jcj ,this same ,hezekiah also      
stopped the upper spring of the waters  
of ,gihon1 and brought them straight    
down on the west side          of the   
city of ,david4  ,hezekiah prospered in 
all his works4  #jcb3jca ,however in the
 business of the ambassadors of the     
princes          of ,babylon1 who sent  
to him to inquire of the wonder that was
          done in the land1 ,god left   
him1 to try him1 that he might know     
all that was in his heart4  #jcb3jcb    
,now the rest of the acts of ,hezekiah1 
and his good deeds1          behold1    
they are written in the vision of       
,isaiah the prophet          the son of 
,amoz1 in the book of the kings of      
,judah and ,israel4  #jcb3jcc ,hezekiah 
slept with his fathers1 and they buried 
him in          the ascent of the tombs 
of the sons of ,david3  and all ,judah  
and the inhabitants of ,jerusalem did   

him honor at his death4                 
,manasseh his son reigned in his place4 
#jcc3jja ,manasseh was twelve years old 
when he began to reign2          and he 
reigned fifty-five years in ,jerusalem4 
#jcc3jjb ,he did that which was evil in 
the sight of ,yahweh1          after the
 abominations of the nations whom       
,yahweh cast out          before the    
children of ,israel4  #jcc3jjc ,for he  
built again the high places which       
,hezekiah his father          had broken
 down2 and he reared up altars for the  
,baals1          and made ,asheroth1 and
 worshiped all the army of the sky1     
and served them4  #jcc3jjd ,he built    
altars in the house of ,yahweh1 of which
 ,yahweh said1          ,in ,jerusalem  
shall my name be forever4  #jcc3jje ,he 
built altars for all the army of the sky
 in the two courts          of the house
 of ,yahweh4  #jcc3jjf ,he also made his
 children to pass through the fire in   
the valley of the son of ,hinnom2 and he
 practiced sorcery1          and used   

enchantments1 and practiced sorcery1 and
 dealt          with those who had      
familiar spirits1 and with wizards3     
he worked much evil in the sight of     
,yahweh1 to provoke          him to     
anger4  #jcc3jjg ,he set the engraved   
image of the idol1 which he had made1   
in the house of ,god1 of which ,god said
 to ,david and to ,solomon          his 
son1 ,in this house1 and in ,jerusalem1 
which ,i have chosen          out of all
 the tribes of ,israel1 will ,i put my  
name forever3  #jcc3jjh neither will ,i 
any more remove the foot of ,israel from
 off          the land which ,i have    
appointed for your fathers1 if only they
          will observe to do all that ,i
 have commanded them1 even all          
the law and the statutes and the        
ordinances given by ,moses4  #jcc3jji   
,manasseh seduced ,judah and the        
inhabitants of ,jerusalem1          so  
that they did evil more than did the    
nations whom ,yahweh          destroyed 
before the children of ,israel4         

#jcc3jaj ,yahweh spoke to ,manasseh1 and
 to his people2 but they          gave  
no heed4  #jcc3jaa ,therefore ,yahweh   
brought on them the captains of the army
          of the king of ,assyria1 who  
took ,manasseh in chains1          and  
bound him with fetters1 and carried him 
to ,babylon4  #jcc3jab ,when he was in  
distress1 he begged ,yahweh his ,god1   
and humbled          himself greatly    
before the ,god of his fathers4         
#jcc3jac ,he prayed to him2 and he was  
entreated of him1 and heard his         
supplication1 and brought him again to  
,jerusalem into his kingdom4            
,then ,manasseh knew that ,yahweh he was
 ,god4  #jcc3jad ,now after this he     
built an outer wall to the city of      
,david1          on the west side of    
,gihon1 in the valley1 even to the      
entrance          at the fish gate2 and 
he compassed ,ophel about with it1      
and raised it up to a very great height3
  and he put valiant          captains  
in all the fortified cities of ,judah4  

#jcc3jae ,he took away the foreign gods1
 and the idol out of the house          
of ,yahweh1 and all the altars that he  
had built in the mountain          of   
the house of ,yahweh1 and in ,jerusalem1
 and cast them out          of the city4
  #jcc3jaf ,he built up the altar of    
,yahweh1 and offered thereon sacrifices 
of peace offerings and of thanksgiving1 
and commanded ,judah          to serve  
,yahweh1 the ,god of ,israel4  #jcc3jag 
,nevertheless the people sacrificed     
still in the high places1          but  
only to ,yahweh their ,god4  #jcc3jah   
,now the rest of the acts of ,manasseh1 
and his prayer to his ,god1          and
 the words of the seers who spoke to him

,god of ,israel1 behold1 they are       
written among the acts          of the  
kings of ,israel4  #jcc3jai ,his prayer 
also1 and how ,god was entreated of him1
 and all          his sin and his       
trespass1 and the places in which he    
built          high places1 and set up  

the ,asherim and the engraved images1   
before he humbled himself3  behold1 they
 are written in          the history of 
,hozai4  #jcc3jbj ,so ,manasseh slept   
with his fathers1 and they buried him in
 his          own house3  and ,amon his 
son reigned in his place4  #jcc3jba     
,amon was twenty-two years old when he  
began to reign2          and he reigned 
two years in ,jerusalem4  #jcc3jbb ,he  
did that which was evil in the sight of 
,yahweh1 as did          ,manasseh his  
father2 and ,amon sacrificed to all the 
engraved          images which ,manasseh
 his father had made1 and served them4  
#jcc3jbc ,he didn't humble himself      
before ,yahweh1 as ,manasseh his        
father had humbled himself2 but this    
same ,amon trespassed          more and 
more4  #jcc3jbd ,his servants conspired 
against him1 and put him to death       
in his own house4  #jcc3jbe ,but the    
people of the land killed all those who 
had conspired          against king     
,amon2 and the people of the land made  

,josiah          his son king in his    
place4  #jcd3jja ,josiah was eight years
 old when he began to reign2            
and he reigned thirty-one years in      
,jerusalem4  #jcd3jjb ,he did that which
 was right in the eyes of ,yahweh1 and  
walked          in the ways of ,david   
his father1 and didn't turn aside       
to the right hand or to the left4       
#jcd3jjc ,for in the eighth year of his 
reign1 while he was yet young1          
he began to seek after the ,god of      
,david his father2          and in the  
twelfth year he began to purge ,judah   
and ,jerusalem          from the high   
places1 and the ,asherim1 and the       
engraved images1          and the molten
 images4  #jcd3jjd ,they broke down the 
altars of the ,baals in his presence2   
and the incense altars that were on high
 above them he hewed down2          and 
the ,asherim1 and the engraved images1  
and the molten images1          he broke
 in pieces1 and made dust of them1 and  
strewed it          on the graves of    

those who had sacrificed to them4

priests on their altars1 and purged

 he in the cities of ,manasseh and

images into powder1 and hewed down all  
the incense altars          throughout  
all the land of ,israel1 and returned to

eighteenth year of his reign1 when he   
had purged          the land and the    
house1 he sent ,shaphan the son of      
,azaliah1          and ,maaseiah the    
governor of the city1 and ,joah the son 
of ,joahaz the recorder1 to repair the  
house of ,yahweh his ,god4  #jcd3jji    
,they came to ,hilkiah the high priest1 
and delivered the money          that   
was brought into the house of ,god1     
which the ,levites1          the keepers
 of the threshold1 had gathered of the  

hand          of ,manasseh and ,ephraim1
 and of all the remnant of ,israel1     
and of all ,judah and ,benjamin1 and of 
the inhabitants of ,jerusalem4  #jcd3jaj
 ,they delivered it into the hand of the
 workmen who had the          oversight 
of the house of ,yahweh2 and the workmen
 who labored          in the house of   
,yahweh gave it to mend and repair the  
house2  #jcd3jaa even to the carpenters 
and to the builders gave they it1       
to buy hewn stone1 and timber for       
couplings1 and to make beams            
for the houses which the kings of ,judah
 had destroyed4  #jcd3jab ,the men did  
the work faithfully3  and the overseers 
of them          were ,jahath and       
,obadiah1 the ,levites1 of the sons of  
,merari2          and ,zechariah and    
,meshullam1 of the sons of the          
,kohathites1          to set it forward2
 and others of the ,levites1 all who    
were          skillful with instruments 
of music4  #jcd3jac ,also they were over
 the bearers of burdens1 and set        

forward all who did the work in every   
manner of service3          and of the  
,levites there were scribes1 and        
officers1 and porters4  #jcd3jad ,when  
they brought out the money that was     
brought into the house          of      
,yahweh1 ,hilkiah the priest found the  
book of the law          of ,yahweh     
given by ,moses4  #jcd3jae ,hilkiah     
answered ,shaphan the scribe1 ,i have   
found the book          of the law in   
the house of ,yahweh4  ,hilkiah         
delivered          the book to ,shaphan4
  #jcd3jaf ,shaphan carried the book to 
the king1 and moreover brought back     
word to the king1 saying1 ,all that was 
committed to your servants1             
they are doing4  #jcd3jag ,they have    
emptied out the money that was found in 
the house          of ,yahweh1 and have 
delivered it into the hand of the       
overseers1          and into the hand of
 the workmen4  #jcd3jah ,shaphan the    
scribe told the king1 saying1 ,hilkiah  
the priest has          delivered me a  

book4  ,shaphan read therein before the 
king4  #jcd3jai ,it happened1 when the  
king had heard the words of the law1    
that he tore his clothes4  #jcd3jbj ,the
 king commanded ,hilkiah1 and ,ahikam   
the son of ,shaphan1          and ,abdon
 the son of ,micah1 and ,shaphan the    
scribe1 and ,asaiah          the king's 
servant1 saying1  #jcd3jba ,go you1     
inquire of ,yahweh for me1 and for those
 who are left in ,israel          and in
 ,judah1 concerning the words of the    
book that is found2          for great  
is the wrath of ,yahweh that is poured  
out on us1          because our fathers 
have not kept the word of ,yahweh1      
to do according to all that is written  
in this book4  #jcd3jbb ,so ,hilkiah1   
and they whom the king had commanded1   
went to ,huldah the prophetess1 the wife
 of ,shallum the son          of        
,tokhath1 the son of ,hasrah1 keeper of 
the wardrobe2          7now she lived in
 ,jerusalem in the second quarter27     
and they spoke to her to that effect4

,yahweh1 the ,god of ,israel3  ,tell you
          the man who sent you to me1

 will bring evil on this place1         
and on the inhabitants of it1 even all  
the curses that are written          in 
the book which they have read before the
 king of ,judah4  #jcd3jbe ,because they
 have forsaken me1 and have burned      
incense to other gods1          that    
they might provoke me to anger with all 
the works of          their hands2      
therefore is my wrath poured out on this
 place1          and it shall not be    
quenched4  #jcd3jbf ,but to the king of 
,judah1 who sent you to inquire of      
,yahweh1          thus shall you tell   
him1 ,thus says ,yahweh1 the ,god       
of ,israel3  ,as touching the words     
which you have heard1  #jcd3jbg because 
your heart was tender1 and you did      
humble yourself          before ,god1   
when you heard his words against this   
place1          and against the         

inhabitants of it1 and have humbled     
yourself          before me1 and have   
torn your clothes1 and wept before me2  
,i also have heard you1 says ,yahweh4

your fathers1 and you shall be gathered 
to your grave in peace1 neither shall   
your eyes see all the evil          that
 ,i will bring on this place1 and on the

together all the elders          of

king went up to the house of ,yahweh1   
and all the men          of ,judah and  
the inhabitants of ,jerusalem1 and the  
priests1          and the ,levites1 and 
all the people1 both great and small3   
and he read in their ears all the words 
of the book of          the covenant    
that was found in the house of ,yahweh4

and made a covenant before ,yahweh1     
to walk after ,yahweh1 and to keep his  

commandments1          and his          
testimonies1 and his statutes1 with all 
his heart1          and with all his    
soul1 to perform the words of the       
covenant          that were written in

were found in ,jerusalem and ,benjamin  
to stand to it4 ,the inhabitants of     
,jerusalem did according          to the
 covenant of ,god1 the ,god of their    
fathers4  #jcd3jcc ,josiah took away all
 the abominations out of all the        
countries          that pertained to the
 children of ,israel1 and made all who  
were          found in ,israel to serve1
 even to serve ,yahweh their ,god4      
,all his days they didn't depart from   
following ,yahweh1          the ,god of 
their fathers4  #jce3jja ,josiah kept a 
,passover to ,yahweh in ,jerusalem3  and
 they killed          the ,passover on  
the fourteenth day of the first month4  
#jce3jjb ,he set the priests in their   
offices1 and encouraged them          to
 the service of the house of ,yahweh4   

#jce3jjc ,he said to the ,levites who   
taught all ,israel1 who were holy       
to ,yahweh1 ,put the holy ark in the    
house which ,solomon the son          of
 ,david king of ,israel did build2 there
 shall no more be          a burden on  
your shoulders3  now serve ,yahweh your 
,god1          and his people ,israel4

fathers' houses by your divisions1      
according to the writing of ,david king 
of ,israel1 and according          to   
the writing of ,solomon his son4

according to the divisions of the       
fathers'          houses of your

and let there be for each a portion of a
 fathers'          house of the

according to the word of ,yahweh by

children of the people1 of the flock1   

lambs and kids1 all of them for the     
,passover offerings1          to all who
 were present1 to the number of thirty  
thousand1          and three thousand   
bulls3  these were of the king's        
substance4  #jce3jjh ,his princes gave  
for a freewill offering to the people1  
to the priests1 and to the ,levites4    
,hilkiah and ,zechariah          and    
,jehiel1 the rulers of the house of     
,god1 gave to the priests          for  
the ,passover offerings two thousand and
 six hundred          small livestock1  
and three hundred oxen4  #jce3jji       
,conaniah also1 and ,shemaiah and       
,nethanel1 his brothers1          and   
,hashabiah and ,jeiel and ,jozabad1 the 
chiefs of the ,levites1          gave to
 the ,levites for the ,passover

and the priests stood in          their 
place1 and the ,levites by their        
divisions1 according to          the

sprinkled the blood          which they

the burnt offerings1 that they might    
give them          according to the     
divisions of the fathers' houses of the 
children          of the people1 to     
offer to ,yahweh1 as it is written in   
the book          of ,moses4  ,so did

roasted the ,passover with fire         
according to the ordinance3          and
 the holy offerings boiled they in pots1
 and in caldrons1          and in pans1 
and carried them quickly to all the     
children          of the people4        
#jce3jad ,afterward they prepared for   
themselves1 and for the priests1        
because the priests the sons of ,aaron  
were busied          in offering the    
burnt offerings and the fat until night3
          therefore the ,levites        
prepared for themselves1 and for the    

priests          the sons of ,aaron4    
#jce3jae ,the singers the sons of ,asaph
 were in their place1          according
 to the commandment of ,david1 and      
,asaph1 and ,heman1          and        
,jeduthun the king's seer2 and the      
porters were at every gate3             
they didn't need to depart from their   
service2 for their          brothers the

,so all the service of ,yahweh was      
prepared the same day1          to keep 
the ,passover1 and to offer burnt       
offerings on the altar          of      
,yahweh1 according to the commandment of
 king ,josiah4  #jce3jag ,the children  
of ,israel who were present kept the    
,passover          at that time1 and the
 feast of unleavened bread seven days4  
#jce3jah ,there was no ,passover like   
that kept in ,israel from the days      
of ,samuel the prophet2 neither did any 
of the kings of ,israel          keep   
such a ,passover as ,josiah kept1 and   
the priests1          and the ,levites1 

and all ,judah and ,israel who were     
present1          and the inhabitants of
 ,jerusalem4  #jce3jai ,in the          
eighteenth year of the reign of ,josiah 
was this ,passover kept4  #jce3jbj      
,after all this1 when ,josiah had       
prepared the temple1 ,neco king         
of ,egypt went up to fight against      
,carchemish by the ,euphrates3          
and ,josiah went out against him4       
#jce3jba ,but he sent ambassadors to    
him1 saying1 ,what have ,i to do with   
you1          you king of ,judah8  ,i   
come not against you this day1          
but against the house with which ,i have
 war2 and ,god has commanded          me
 to make haste3  forbear you from       
meddling with ,god1          who is with

,nevertheless ,josiah would not turn his
 face from him1          but disguised  
himself1 that he might fight with him1  
and didn't listen to the words of ,neco 
from the mouth of ,god1          and    
came to fight in the valley of ,megiddo4

,josiah2 and the king said to his       
servants1          ,have me away2 for ,i

servants took him out of the chariot1   
and put him in          the second      
chariot that he had1 and brought him to

was buried in the tombs of his fathers4 
,all ,judah and ,jerusalem mourned for

for ,josiah3  and all the singing men   
and singing women spoke of ,josiah in

 and they made them an ordinance in

and his good deeds1          according  
to that which is written in the law of

,josiah1          and made him king in  
his father's place in ,jerusalem4

old when he began to reign2          and

 at ,jerusalem1 and fined the land      
one hundred talents of silver and a

 in fetters1 to carry him to ,babylon4

to ,babylon1 and put them in his temple

 also rebelled against king             
,nebuchadnezzar1 who had made           
him swear by ,god3  but he stiffened his
 neck1 and hardened          his heart  
against turning to ,yahweh1 the ,god of

chiefs of the priests1 and the people1  
trespassed very greatly after all the   
abominations of the nations2            
and they polluted the house of ,yahweh  
which he had made          holy in

of their fathers1 sent to them by his   
messengers1          rising up early and
 sending1 because he had compassion on  
his people1 and on his dwelling place3

and scoffed at his prophets1 until the  
wrath of ,yahweh arose          against 
his people1 until there was no remedy4

 killed their young men with the sword  

in the house of          their          
sanctuary1 and had no compassion on     
young man or virgin1          old man or
 gray-headed3 he gave them all into his

house of ,god1 great and small1 and the 
treasures of the house of ,yahweh1 and  
the treasures of the king1          and 
of his princes1 all these he brought to 
,babylon4  #jcf3jai ,they burnt the     
house of ,god1 and broke down the wall  
of ,jerusalem1          and burnt all   
the palaces of it with fire1 and        
destroyed          all the goodly       
vessels of it4  #jcf3jbj ,he carried    
those who had escaped from the sword    
away to ,babylon2          and they were
 servants to him and his sons until the 
reign          of the kingdom of        
,persia3  #jcf3jba to fulfill the word  
of ,yahweh by the mouth of ,jeremiah1   
until the land had enjoyed its          
,sabbaths3  for as long as it           
lay desolate it kept ,sabbath1 to       
fulfill seventy years4  #jcf3jbb ,now in

 the first year of ,cyrus king of       
,persia1 that the word          of      
,yahweh by the mouth of ,jeremiah might 
be accomplished1          ,yahweh       
stirred up the spirit of ,cyrus king of 
,persia1          so that he made a     
proclamation throughout all his kingdom1
          and put it also in writing1   
saying1  #jcf3jbc ,thus says ,cyrus king
 of ,persia1 ,all the kingdoms of the   
earth          has ,yahweh1 the ,god of 
heaven1 given me2 and he has charged    
me to build him a house in ,jerusalem1  
which is in ,judah4          ,whoever   
there is among you of all his people1   
,yahweh his ,god          be with him1  
and let him go up4
