 the man was ,elimelech1 and the name of
 his wife ,naomi1          and the name 
of his two sons ,mahlon and ,chilion1   
,ephrathites of          ,bethlehem     
,judah4  ,they came into the country of 
,moab1          and continued there4    
#jja3jjc ,elimelech1 ,naomi's husband1  
died2 and she was left1          and her
 two sons4  #jja3jjd ,they took them    
wives of the women of ,moab2 the name   
of the one was ,orpah1 and the name of  
the other ,ruth3          and they lived
 there about ten years4  #jja3jje       
,mahlon and ,chilion died both of them2 
and the woman was left          of her  
two children and of her husband4        

#jja3jjf ,then she arose with her       
daughters-in-law1 that she might return 
from the country of ,moab3  for she had 
heard in the country of ,moab           
how that ,yahweh had visited his people 
in giving them bread4  #jja3jjg ,she    
went forth out of the place where she   
was1 and her two                        
daughters-in-law with her2 and they went
 on the way to return          to the   
land of ,judah4  #jja3jjh ,naomi said to
 her two daughters-in-law1 ,go1 return  
each          of you to her mother's    
house3  ,yahweh deal kindly with you1   
as you have dealt with the dead1 and    
with me4  #jja3jji ,yahweh grant you    
that you may find rest1 each of you in  
the house          of her husband4      
,then she kissed them1 and they lifted  
up          their voice1 and wept4      
#jja3jaj ,they said to her1 ,no1 but we 
will return with you to your people4    
#jja3jaa ,naomi said1 ,turn again1 my   
daughters3  why will you go with me8    
have ,i yet sons in my womb1 that they  

may be your husbands8  #jja3jab ,turn   
again1 my daughters1 go your way2 for ,i
 am too old to have          a husband4 
,if ,i should say1 ,i have hope1 if ,i  
should even          have a husband     
tonight1 and should also bear sons2

therefore stay from having husbands8    
nay1 my daughters1          for it      
grieves me much for your sakes1 for the 
hand of ,yahweh          is gone forth

 kissed          her mother-in-law1 but

said1 ,behold1 your sister-in-law is    
gone back to her people1          and to
 her god3  return you after your        
sister-in-law4  #jja3jaf ,ruth said1    
,don't entreat me to leave you1 and to  
return          from following after    
you1 for where you go1 ,i will go2      
and where you lodge1 ,i will lodge2 your
 people shall be my people1          and

die1 will ,i die1 and there will ,i be  
buried3          ,yahweh do so to me1   
and more also1 if anything but death

,when she saw that she was steadfastly  
minded to go with her1          she left
 off speaking to her4  #jja3jai ,so they
 two went until they came to ,bethlehem4
  ,it happened1          when they were 
come to ,bethlehem1 that all the city   
was moved          about them1 and the  
women said1 ,is this ,naomi8  #jja3jbj  
,she said to them1 ,don't call me       
,naomi1 call me ,mara2          for the 
,almighty has dealt very bitterly with  
me4  #jja3jba ,i went out full1 and     
,yahweh has brought me home again empty2
          why do you call me ,naomi1    
seeing ,yahweh has testified against me1
          and the ,almighty has         
afflicted me8  #jja3jbb ,so ,naomi      
returned1 and ,ruth the ,moabitess1 her 
daughter-in-law1          with her1 who 
returned out of the country of ,moab3   

and they came to ,bethlehem in the      
beginning of barley harvest4  #jjb3jja  
,naomi had a kinsman of her husband's1 a
 mighty man of wealth1          of the  
family of ,elimelech1 and his name was  
,boaz4  #jjb3jjb ,ruth the ,moabitess   
said to ,naomi1 ,let me now go to the   
field1          and glean among the ears
 of grain after him in whose sight      
,i shall find favor4  ,she said to her1 
,go1 my daughter4  #jjb3jjc ,she went1  
and came and gleaned in the field after 
the reapers3          and she happened  
to come to the portion of the field     
belonging          to ,boaz1 who was of 
the family of ,elimelech4  #jjb3jjd     
,behold1 ,boaz came from ,bethlehem1 and
 said to the reapers1          ,yahweh  
be with you4  ,they answered him1       
,yahweh bless you4  #jjb3jje ,then said 
,boaz to his servant who was set over   
the reapers1          ,whose young lady 
is this8  #jjb3jjf ,the servant who was 
set over the reapers answered1 ,it is   
the ,moabite          lady who came back

 with ,naomi out of the country of      
,moab3  #jjb3jjg ,she said1 ,please let 
me glean and gather after the reapers   
among the sheaves4  ,so she came1 and   
has continued even          from the    
morning until now1 except that she      
stayed a little          in the house4  
#jjb3jjh ,then said ,boaz to ,ruth1     
,don't you hear1 my daughter8           
,don't go to glean in another field1    
neither pass from hence1          but   
abide here fast by my maidens4  #jjb3jji
 ,let your eyes be on the field that    
they reap1 and go after them3           
haven't ,i charged the young men that   
they shall not touch          you8 and  
when you are thirsty1 go to the vessels1
 and drink          of that which the   
young men have drawn4  #jjb3jaj ,then   
she fell on her face1 and bowed herself 
to the ground1          and said to him1
 ,why have ,i found favor in your sight1
          that you should take knowledge
 of me1 seeing ,i am a foreigner8       
#jjb3jaa ,boaz answered her1 ,it has    

fully been shown me1 all that you       
have done to your mother-in-law since   
the death of your husband2          and 
how you have left your father and your  
mother1          and the land of your   
birth1 and have come to a people that   
you          didn't know before4        
#jjb3jab ,yahweh recompense your work1  
and a full reward be given you          
of ,yahweh1 the ,god of ,israel1 under  
whose wings you are come          to    
take refuge4  #jjb3jac ,then she said1  
,let me find favor in your sight1 my    
lord1          because you have         
comforted me1 and because you have      
spoken kindly          to your handmaid1
 though ,i am not as one of your        
handmaidens4  #jjb3jad ,at meal time    
,boaz said to her1 ,come here1 and eat  
of the bread1          and dip your     
morsel in the vinegar4  ,she sat beside 
the reapers1          and they reached  
her parched grain1 and she ate1 and was 
sufficed1          and left of it4      
#jjb3jae ,when she was risen up to      

glean1 ,boaz commanded his              
young men1 saying1 ,let her glean even  
among the sheaves1          and don't   
reproach her4  #jjb3jaf ,also pull out  
some for her from the bundles1 and leave
 it1          and let her glean1 and    
don't rebuke her4  #jjb3jag ,so she     
gleaned in the field until even2 and she
 beat out that          which she had   
gleaned1 and it was about an ephah of   
barley4  #jjb3jah ,she took it up1 and  
went into the city2 and her             
mother-in-law          saw what she had 
gleaned3  and she brought forth and gave
          to her that which she had left
 after she was sufficed4  #jjb3jai ,her 
mother-in-law said to her1 ,where have  
you gleaned today8 and          where   
have you worked8 blessed be he who did  
take knowledge of you4          ,she    
shown her mother-in-law with whom she   
had worked1 and said1          ,the     
man's name with whom ,i worked today is 
,boaz4  #jjb3jbj ,naomi said to her     
daughter-in-law1 ,blessed be he of      

,yahweh1          who has not left off  
his kindness to the living and to the   
dead4          ,naomi said to her1 ,the 
man is a close relative to us1          
one of our near kinsmen4  #jjb3jba ,ruth
 the ,moabitess said1 ,yes1 he said to  
me1 ,you shall keep          fast by my 
young men1 until they have ended all my 
harvest4  #jjb3jbb ,naomi said to ,ruth 
her daughter-in-law1 ,it is good1 my    
daughter1          that you go out with 
his maidens1 and that they not meet you 
in any other field4  #jjb3jbc ,so she   
kept fast by the maidens of ,boaz1 to   
glean to the end          of barley     
harvest and of wheat harvest2 and she   
lived          with her mother-in-law4  
#jjc3jja ,naomi her mother-in-law said  
to her1 ,my daughter1 shall ,i          
not seek rest for you1 that it may be   
well with you8  #jjc3jjb ,now isn't     
,boaz our kinsman1 with whose maidens   
you were8          ,behold1 he winnows  
barley tonight in the threshing floor4  
#jjc3jjc ,wash yourself therefore1 and  

anoint you1 and put your clothing       
on you1 and get you down to the         
threshing floor1 but don't          make
 yourself known to the man1 until he    
shall have done          eating and     
drinking4  #jjc3jjd ,it shall be1 when  
he lies down1 that you shall mark the   
place          where he shall lie1 and  
you shall go in1 and uncover his feet1  
and lay you down2 and he will tell you

to her1 ,all that you say ,i will do4   
#jjc3jjf ,she went down to the threshing
 floor1 and did according to all        
that her mother-in-law told her4

drunk1 and his heart was merry1         
he went to lie down at the end of the   
heap of grain3          and she came    
softly1 and uncovered his feet1 and laid

midnight1 that the man was afraid1 and  
turned himself2          and behold1 a  
woman lay at his feet4  #jjc3jji ,he    
said1 ,who are you8  ,she answered1 ,i  

am ,ruth your handmaid3          spread 
therefore your skirt over your handmaid2
 for you are          a near kinsman4   
#jjc3jaj ,he said1 ,blessed are you by  
,yahweh1 my daughter3          you have 
shown more kindness in the latter end   
than at          the beginning1 inasmuch
 as you didn't follow young men1        
whether poor or rich4  #jjc3jaa ,now1 my
 daughter1 don't be afraid2 ,i will do  
to you all that          you say2 for   
all the city of my people does know that
 you          are a worthy woman4

near kinsman2 however there is

perform to you the part of a kinsman1

feet until the morning4  ,she rose up

another4  ,for he said1 ,let it not be  
known          that the woman came to

 ,bring the mantle that is on you1 and  
hold it2          and she held it2 and  
he measured six measures of barley1     
and laid it on her3  and he went into   
the city4  #jjc3jaf ,when she came to   
her mother-in-law1 she said1 ,who are   
you1          my daughter8  ,she told   
her all that the man had done to her4

of barley gave he me2 for he said1      
,don't go empty to your mother-in-law4

daughter1 until you know how            
the matter will fall2 for the man will  
not rest1 until he has          finished

,boaz went up to the gate1 and sat him

of the city1 and said1 ,sit you

,he said to the near kinsman1 ,naomi1   
who has come back out          of the   
country of ,moab1 is selling the parcel 
of land1          which was our brother 
,elimelech's3  #jjd3jjd ,i thought to   
disclose it to you1 saying1 ,buy it     
before          those who sit here1 and 
before the elders of my people4         
,if you will redeem it1 redeem it3  but 
if you will not          redeem it1 then
 tell me1 that ,i may know2 for there   
is none to redeem it besides you2 and ,i
 am after you4          ,he said1 ,i

,boaz1 ,what day you buy the field of   
the hand of ,naomi1          you must   
buy it also of ,ruth the ,moabitess1 the
 wife of the dead1          to raise up 
the name of the dead on his inheritance4

can't redeem it for myself1 lest ,i     
mar my own inheritance3  take my right  
of redemption on you2          for ,i

concerning exchanging1 to confirm all   
things3          a man drew off his     
shoe1 and gave it to his neighbor2      
and this was the manner of attestation  
in ,israel4  #jjd3jjh ,so the near      
kinsman said to ,boaz1 ,buy it for      
yourself4          ,he drew off his     
shoe4  #jjd3jji ,boaz said to the       
elders1 and to all the people1 ,you are 
witnesses          this day1 that ,i    
have bought all that was ,elimelech's1  
and all that was ,chilion's and         
,mahlon's1 of the hand of ,naomi4

 the wife of ,mahlon1 have ,i           
purchased to be my wife1 to raise up the
 name of the dead          on his       
inheritance1 that the name of the dead
